Had a great weekend at the Fort, except the pools were too crowded. Being resort guest, you have the privilege of enjoying the other resort amenities, so we hopped on the boat over to the WL and enjoyed their pool, which was almost empty. :P

I didnt think that pool rights were "transferable" unless your resort pool was closed?

Sorry, should have been more specific. You can pool hop among "sister resorts". The Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness are considered this (that is why there is a boat between the two), plus we asked first before we did this. I may have been misled by the CM I asked, if so, sorry for posting incorrect information.

Oh, and if you are a DVC member. My sister and her family are and do this often.

I have never heard them referred to as "sisters". POR/POFQ, yes. All Stars, yes. Beach Club/Yacht Club. Those sister resorts are all the same resort level. But the campground and a deluxe resort??? So all those people who are only paying for a tent site at the campground could go over to the Wilderness Lodge and use a deluxe pool? I don't think I'd be happy if I was paying WL prices and there was no room at the pool because of visitors!

I have a feeling you got the wrong information there.

mom2AidenAndEli. So what you are saying would also apply the other way around, correct? That the WL guests shouldn't be allowed to come to the Fort to enjoy the wagon ride, trail rides or the HDD dinner show with us lowly tent site renters?

according to this photo.. you were given wrong information. http://www.wildernesslodgesite.com/content/pool-rules-0

as for the
mom2AidenAndEli. So what you are saying would also apply the other way around, correct? That the WL guests shouldn't be allowed to come to the Fort to enjoy the wagon ride, trail rides or the HDD dinner show with us lowly tent site renters?

No because comparing them are "apples and Oranges" the wagon rides and dinner shows are open to everyone. the pool is not

Please don't twist what I said. Those other amenities are open to everyone, staying anywhere. Pools are not. Disney policy specifically says that the pools are for the use of the guests at that resort.

And I never said "lowly tent people"--but you've got to admit there's a difference in price from a campsite to a deluxe resort. People who pay the deluxe resort prices expect certain amenities--and they get them. I've never stayed Deluxe myself, so this isn't I'm up here and others are down there. Don't turn it into that. But, honestly, whatever level I'm staying at, I want to be able to enjoy the pool at MY resort. The pools are built to accommodate the number of guests at THAT resort. If you suddenly inundate the pool area with people who aren't even staying there, it makes it miserable for everyone--especially those who paid for that resort and should be able to use the amenities!

No pool hopping per the rules. Every resort guest is permitted to swim at their own resort but hopping is not allowed. In the rare instances a resort pool may be down for service, guests of that resort are given an designated alternate location to swim in nearby.

Also per the rules, resort guests are free to enjoy the other resorts but that does not extend to pool privileges.

Of course, if these are brand new rules that a CM gave you, we will hear more of it but for years the "No Hopping" policy has been in place. Also, CM's have been known to give incorrect answers to asked questions. Bus drivers are famous for this...

DVC members, as a DVC benefit, can pool hop I believe between DVC resorts. That's been the extent of it.

PS - there is a boat between the Contemporary and the Fort too but that doesn't make them "sister resorts".

Yeah what Bama_Ed said.

I've never heard of Ft Wilderness campers using the pool at Wilderness Lodge because it's a "Sister resort"

The dinner show has a fee. The pool does not. That's why you can go to the dinner show without being a guest there...

You made a mistake. They are not considered sister resorts. Pool hopping is not allowed between The Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. You are lucky they didn't check your ID and kick you out.

My comment was removed too! I just got an email that said I now have 10 points and my comment was removed.

Serioulsy?!?! You have to be kidding me!

Whatever happens to freedom of speech?

I saw that you commented, and when I clicked over to this page it was gone. I was wondering what happened to it too, this was getting good. popcorn::

Maybe that's why it disappeared? :confused3

Let's keep it polite and professional, please.

There's not much more that needs to be said on this topic.

PS - the DIS has rules which we all agreed to follow when we signed up.

My comment was not mean, not rude and it was mild......

It was two lines worth of texted and 50% of it was in favor of the Fort pool.
