So looks like its going to be cool next week for our trip. We had planned a girls trip mostly hanging by the pool and maybe only one day at the park. So far forecast says sunny but 65 ish..... Ughhh. First time for weather under 80 for us

Will we be freezing at the pool? May have to re think out what we will be doing..... But just wanted to enjoy the resort and chill this trip

Thanks!

I feel your pain, I'm there March 3 to 8. Hoped for a warm break from the winter weather. I keep telling myself it's a week ahead, maybe the forecast will change.

I was there a few weeks ago when it was a high of 70 and could not go to the pool burrrr lol but there were a lot of people in it every time we passed. It depends on the person. It is heated so that may help but I hate that you have to get out :scared:

I don't even think its supposed to hit 70 next week. I even thought about moving it out another month to April, ( found availability) but will cost me more to change my airline tickets than I paid for all of ours. So here's hoping it doesn't get as cold as the winter weather we are leaving behind in upstate NY! We are there the 1 st thru the 6th, fingers crossed the forecast changes for us both!

Have a great time !

I'm kind of stuck because I have an April use year. I checked the next week, all DVC's are booked solid.

Have a great time too!

There will be many at the pool in those temps, but it would not be me.

My minimum temp for Disney pool time is 70 degrees. My kids have swam plenty of times when it was low to mid 70s. Me personally, I don't get in the pool unless it is at least 80 degrees. Some people do use the pools when temps are in the 60s, though.

Plan on using the hot tub!!

Plus if it makes you feel better we are leaving right now, our forecast was stormy and 70 but we had beautiful weather all week. It can always change!!

(It's the getting out of the hot tub..... Brrrrr lol)

I am a chicken when it comes to cold weather but my kids would go in at any temp!

Woke up to an attitude adjustment this morning..... Another six inches of snow over night!

No more sad face for sunny and in the 60s... Can't wait for Friday!!

The pools are great in cool weather - it's just getting out of them that isn't so hot!

I remember coming back to WL in December '99 (where temps dipped below freezing at night). The pool was full (and almost all adults). Ran into a couple coming in and recall the woman in her soaking swim suit saying, "That seemed like a good idea..."

Well...therein lies the dilemma. You've already invested a lot in a trip which (right now) has the potential to be a total bust. Do you just chalk it up to bad luck--and resign yourself to reading books poolside in a sweatshirt and jeans--or spend a little more for the possibility of a better experience? :confused3

Do they issue FastPasses for hot tubs? ;) It's not likely to be a very serene experience when temps are in the 60s.

Well, there is a lot to do besides swimming even if you don't do the parks! I've been when it never got above 50 and still had a great time. And also with Florida in the winter, could be 40 one day and 80 the next. So if you have good weather one day, don't assume it will hang around!

Depends upon what one has in mind when scheduling the trip. If the idea is "mostly hanging out by the pool" with girlfriends as OP said, temps in the mid-60s will be miserable.

Water temp may not be bad since it is heated. But I would interpret "hanging out" as sunbathing and that ain't happenin' at those temps.

Right. my point is if you are going on vacation with the purpose of lounging by the pool, Florida in winter isn't a great choice, as many winter days aren't suitable for that. Now there are a lot of destinations that are much better for wam weather in the winter, but they don't have theme parks (or at least not Walt Disney World)!

What about hanging by the pool with a nice hot drink with a shot of something fun.

Coffee and Kaluha, Bailey's, rum. A nice hot spiced wine could be tasty. Add in a nice Disney sweet treat and a day by the pool could be fun, even in cold weather.

Just back last night, and had a great time! We did have a mix of cool and semi warm days. We made it an afternoon and evening at Downtown one of the cool days. Splitsville was a lot of fun. We also hit Epcot and MK on Sunday. Cold!! But we still had fun and walked on most rides. Our last two days we hung out at the pool and even came home with a sun burn. Crazy Florida weather Lol. We had a fabulous dinner at BlueZoo, out first time there. All in all another fun trip!!

I'm going home tomorrow. Sunday was cold............ :scared1: Rest of the week was OK, I went without a jacket on Tuesday and this afternoon. I'm rethinking my December trip.

We did a December trip years ago. Wanted to see all the holiday lights. We went the week before Christmas, and we caught a miserable week. It's was cold and had a misty rain every day. While I'm glad we went to see the decorations, checked it off the list for that time of year for us. I'm sure many years the December weather has been great too.

It's always a risk with the weather, and boy it was cold on Sunday! We ended up buying hats, gloves and socks and layering hoodies. I so didn't pack the right clothes , should have brought our winter coats! Next day had our suits on by the pool. Lots of sun and little breeze made it OK. This was the first time we've gone in March, think I'll stick with our late Sept or Oct trips. Can catch rain, but at least it's warmer.
