First post in almost 6 years! although I love WDW, hubby is not a big fan so every 5 or 6 years is all I can beg for. But next year is finally my turn again!!I know this is way early but I need a Disney fix! When we went in 1999 (had a fabulous time thanks to all of you!), we got a discount called something like Dancing in your Dreams. It was a moderate (DL) for about the same price as a value ($89 per night). Do these types of discounts still come out? I'm planning for 8/27 thru as long as I can stay so it's Value season. Also, I see a free dining plan out for this value season, is that likely to come out again next year? does it apply to moderates? Last time we did 10 days, 9 nights with 4 day hopper passes, hit Blizzard Beach and did 1 day at Universal (still actually have 1 day left on those passes, think I can get something for them?) That was pretty much enough for us (me, Dad, Nick will be 16 and Katie 21 but she looks 12 so maybe I can get her in for 17!).

Too long to start a countdown!!

Welcome back. The only thing going on is free dining which is for Late AUg-Early Oct. What I would do is to look at what your budget is going to be and talk to your kids about whether they want to go or not. If your 21 year old goes, she will be considered an extra adult in the room so depending upon where you stay that is an extra 10-25 dollars per night.

I would look and see what kind of meals you want to do. For many, this is the deciding factor on whether they do the meal plan or not, if you are doing tons of sitdowns and many of them expensive, it maybe worth it. You can get a room discount with a package if you book through AAA but you must be members.

Welcome back and happy planning.

Hi,

The types of discounts offered are in a state of flux. After 9/11 discounts where easy to come by. Now that travel is on the up swing again general public discounts are hard to find and the AP discounts are not as large as they used to be.

Check out www.mousesavers.com for all of the latest information on discounts, the different types and historical information on when they came out in the past. Happy planning.

it's soooo good to be back!!! More info about us - we are AAA members and also have the Disney Visa card (points really add up when you put college tuition payments on there!) so i'm hoping these provide some discounts.
Also, we do like to eat at the better places in WDW. our favorites last time were Brown Derby, Sci-fi, Donald's Breakfastosaurus and Chef Mickey's. Like th idea of spliting meals, most places do give you alot of food, and a big, late breakfast and then dinner w/o lunch or maybe just a snack in between. Of course my son is an eating machine! doesn't eat alot at one time but needs to be fed every hour on the hour!!
