But why would they want to spend money to buy more points, just to sit on them, while trying to sell…my guess…2 million new points deeded to the new tower?
Again, they may decide to roll it in but it won’t be because they believe it would be good for current PVB owners. The only reason I can think of is being able to market the 11 month window for bungalows but not sure that seems that big of a deal.
The bigger problem for me is they have worked hard…starting in 2012…to do things to differentiate resale and direct, with the biggest move being restrictions.
Building a brand new resort from ground up only to abandon them, especially when FW cabins are coming on line too, just doesn’t seem to fit with the long term strategy that the changes have implied.
I also think it blows the commitment to that strategy out of the water, especially since they did do it for VDH..which, does support it’s still something they want to happen. People will start gambling that it’s a bluff
Now, the announcement of the cabins as the 17th resort when still not giving details about this is odd and I’m not sure how to read that.
