Hey all,
I am wondering what is the fastest way to get from the Poly back to the Fort? We have ADR at Poly at 5pm. Then we have the wishes cruise leaving from the Ft at 8:30, but have to be at the marina at 8. Someone on a different site said that there is a boat from the Poly to the Ft but I cant verify that. Is there? If not, what is the fastest way back?
TIA!! :upsidedow

There is no boat from the Poly to the Fort. You could take the resort monorail to the Contemporary then the boat to the fort, or you could walk to the Contemporary via the walkway from the Poly to the TTC to the Contemporary and then take the boat. I think, though, that you may be cutting things very close, considering you time to dine, then travel time to make it to the Fort by 8pm.

I would think The Poly monorail to the CR and a boat would be quickest way on WDW transportation.

If I'm not mistaken, the best way to get to FW would be to either take monorail or walk to the TTC. Then, take the bus to FW. This bus should drop you off near Pioneer Hall. You can go to the Contemporary via monorail then hop on the boat, but I think that would take a lot more time. Hope this helps.

One more option, not sure it would be any faster but it is an alternative. Boat/monorail from Poly to MK, boat from MK to FWCG.

There is no longer a bus from TTC to the Fort.

There is no way to walk from the TTC to the Contemporary.

The best way is boat or monorail to the Magic Kingdom, then boat to Ft. Wilderness

OR

monorail to the Contemporary, then boat to Ft. Wilderness.

The fastest way is to hop a cab. Second fastest I suspect would be monorail to MK and MK boat to FW. I would expect the longer boat ride from MK would be offset by the time walking from the CR Monorail to the dock (and the travel time from MK to CR). I would only do the CR launch if the MK docks look pretty full (sit on the right of the monorail and pay attention as you round the lagoon).

Thanks everyone!
I had previously been planning the monorail back to MK and then the boat back to the Fort, that way we would at least end up at the marina where we need to be. But the cab sounds nice too. Does it drop you off at the gate or can it take you all the way to the marina? So sorry for all the questions...We are new to the Ft and Disney! And we have ages from 10 months - 73 years! I am trying to make it easy on everyone!

And while I am asking questions, does the wishes cruise that leaves the Ft got to the Seven Seas Lagoon or does it stay in Bay Lake? The CM I spoke to mentioned it being in Bay Lake, but on the Disney site, it says they go to Seven Seas Lagoon, but doesnt mention a boat leaving from the Ft.
Thanks!

Cab will take you to the front/Outpost area. You'll then need to catch an internal bus to the marina

You can have the cab take you to the returning guest gate and use your KTTW card to get in and have him drive you to the end of Fort Wilderness Trail (near the Settlement Depot). That leaves you within 1000 feet of the Dock End.

IF they are a Fort guest. If they are a guest of another resort, then the KTTW card will not work at the gate. Once the taxi goes through the guard shack it can enter the campsite loops if they so desire.

Ah! Quite so, I never considered they might be guests at another resort. In that case, taxi would be a waste! So, ignore me! LOL

I am staying at the Fort in the cabins...:goodvibes

And we have a golf cart rented...
Thank you!

I think Monorail to the contemporary and then boat to FW is much faster. Lines and docking at MK take longer and the walk from the boat to the resort monorail at MK isn't much longer than the walk from the launch to the Contemporary.

Working in reverse we made it to the poly in 30 minutes and that was from the outpost, fort internal bus to the marina, boat to the contemporary, monorail to the Poly. AND bear in mind that Wishes was on while we were on that boat so the boat stopped for a bit.

I think you'll be fine on time.
