Some rude morons ruin it for everyone. Steve put SO much time into that web site. He gets nothing for it. So for the RUDE people on here that commented he was the 'poly protector', seriously get a life.

I was just wondering if anyone calls Buzz2001 the CSR protector? What about Seaspray or Safetymom as the CBR protectors? I am not singling them out in anyway because I love how much knowledge they bring here, but to hear about comments like that aimed at someone JUST because he or she loves their fave resort...is crap. And with Steve especially, after he spent so much time on that site for no reason other than to help people like us, being called the poly protector...also crap.

Keep your site going Steve! I'm not sure what the cause was to make you take it offline but don't let all the folks that love your site suffer.

Even I've visit you site when my DW and I were thinking about trying the Poly. Where else will DIS'ers go?

While I've never stayed at the Poly...I have enjoyed reading Steve's site from time to time. It is very sad that he felt the need to pull his site from the many that enjoyed it because a few made negative comments.

Hopefully Steve will come back soon.

I initially get to the first page and then it redirects to the retired page. This was/is a terrific site but I totally understand if he wants to retire it. Maintaining a website is a lot of work. Especially when you are doing it for free. Also bandwidth can cost a lot. I don't blame him for wanting out if people here are giving him flack.


On a similar note, I once got a nasty email from someone regarding my CSR site thinking that I was Disney and they wanted to voice all their complaints to me. I don't know what part of "Unofficial" in the title or disclaimer they didn't understand? Made me want to shut my site down entirely after that.

Don't you dare! Don't let one bad apple spoil it for everyone else that loves your site.

I wonder if that is what happened to Howard and his CSR site. Too much flack. But since I started my site in 2002, I've never gotten any flack from a DIS'er or any of the other boards I frequent.

I also wanted to chime in to say I love Steve's site. I haven't stayed at the Poly but thanks to his site I'll be prepared when the time comes.

Steve has a great website and it definately will be missed! Maybe there is more going on than we know in his life and this was the final straw, everybody has one. Steve, just know we wish you wouldn't retire your site but we understand . Maybe you just need to step back and read all the posts and realize that there are many more people that rely on your site than don't. Please don't feel pressure to start it up again because of us, we love you but we want you to be happy too. Life is way too short to do something you don't want to do. Good luck with your decision.

I can totally understand why Tikiman might've wanted to close down his site, whether it was stupid comments or the costs he was incurring keeping it up, but I really hope he'll reconsider and come out of retirement. We miss you, Tikiman!!!!!!!!!

First I want to say I am a BIG fan of Steves site. Now,My opinion.

I don't think the site is gone for reasons listed here. If ytou notice,this occurred right after the posting of the "new" rooms at the Poly. Every other site that picked up the story and photos of the rooms has since removed the content from their sites. Perhaps Disney put some pressure on Steve.

Disney has been known in the past to monitor fan sites and others such as this very one.

I can't believe there are idiots out there who would get nasty about someone defending the Poly. So what??? For crying out loud, we're talking about WDW! Save your nastiness for something that deserves it-- goodness knows if you're that bitter there's gotta be something else in your life that does deserve it.

On the other hand, I can't believe Steve would let these idiots run him off like that! Come on Steve, you know your site is bigger than their stupidity. So's the info you provide here. The new FAQ thing is nice and all, but can't be what your site is. I think the responses on this thread say it all-- Tikiman is missed!
