POLY "TIKIMAN" RETIRED?

Steve took a lot of "flack" last week from several posters. He even said that maybe he would stop his website. Many of us posted asking him to PLEASE continue with his website as it is a great asset! I hope that there is just some temporary problem with his website and that it isn't because he did actually stop!

Steve - if you're reading this...please don't discontinue your website because of a few negative posters. I think you would find that they are in the minority and the majority of us LOVE your website and appreciate all the hard work you put into it!!!!!!!!!

I can only access one page and that's it. I just read the threat that TigrLvsPooh referred to. I hope he didn't get rid of his website over a few rotten apples. It's too bad. It was a great website. When we planned our Poly trip in 2003, I practically lived on the webpage! I hope this is just something temporary. I don't see whey there can't be an FAQ thread here, and the Tikiman webpage.

Well, I will jump in and tell Steve and his wife how much I truly appreciate all the love he provides thru his website!! I love the time he put into adding the audio, how else would I know how to say Toukelou or any others. I love hearing the monorail... it takes me back

I can only get the Poly history section through that link. I can't get to the main page or to any of the pages for the different buildings. Maybe it's just me though, because my computer is sooooo slow tonight!

It is because of Steve that we decided to take the plunge and spend the $ at the Poly a couple of weeks ago... and it was also thanks to his website that I knew exactly where I wanted to stay and what I wanted to do there.

He has helped a lot of people to make decisions about the Poly and has "converted" many to be Poly lovers like him. I find that a wonderful thing (I was one of the "converted" ones). But I know what it feels like when you work so hard (as a volunteer, with no compensation, on your dime and your time) for something and a few people ruin it by their pettiness and lack of tact or understanding. And no matter how many you help, it really hurts when someone puts down your work. You just want to give up even though you'd be hurting many who really do appreciate you.

So, Steve, if you're reading this, let this thread be the encouragement to continue the great service you're providing and a vote of confidence on your work. And although there may be those who disagree with your opinion, don't let them discourage you. A lot more people appreciate it and depend on it to help them make decisions and to reminisce about good times.

"Tikiman posted some replies to this thread and was really blasted by several posters. If it's of any interest so those of you that seemed to want to personally attack him on this subject...it looks as though he has taken it seriously enough to stop his website. If you go to the website it now just says "Tikiman has retired!"

Please don't flame me because of my comments. But I think it's pretty bad that some posters would get so nasty as to cause someone who does such a good job of informing us - AT NO COST TO US - to want to stop his website! One poster even made comments about Tikiman getting special treatment based on who he is and the acquaintances that he has made. Boy, if that doesn't scream "JEALOUS!" I doubt that he gets treated any differently than the rest of us by the majority of the CMs at the POLY. Maybe he does get a little special treatment from those CMs that do actually know who he is. But so be it. He just happens to be someone who loves the POLY and loves to share that info with us. If he doesn't have negative comments about the POLY maybe it's because he hasn't had any negative experiences. That is a possibility, you know!!!

I just hope that Tikiman is continuing to read these threads and will realize that there are many of us that still value his site!!!!"

I just began browsing his site the other day, because one day I hope to be able to stay at the Poly. I really hope that this blows over soon and that tikiman doesn't allow some bad apples to spoil everything.
