Heard that now that pool gates are working properly that Poly pool is less crowded. For those that have bee there lately true?:confused3 Tia.

When we were there in early May, the days the gate worked were significantly less crowded. It was remarkably pleasant on those days.

The days the gate didn't work, it was much more crowded and at times more like the overcrowded situation Poly had for years. The amazing part is people brag about using the Poly pool and never paying to stay there. Sorry, but just because you had breakfast at Ohana's shouldn't give you access to the pool for the rest of the day.

We were staying at GFV last week and walked over to the Poly for dinner. I tried to enter the pool using my magicband. It didn't work as we were not staying at the Poly. I was very happy that the gates were working. I think this type of gate needs to be installed at all the resort pools.

Sadly though there have been a few reports of people hanging out at the gate that try to slip in with guests who have bands that work. I will say this if someone tries this on me they are going to get some bruised fingers when I close the gate. The sign is very clear that one must be guest and have a magic band or ID card to access the pool. Free loaders take notice.

If someone slipped in right behind me, I would probably mention it to the lifeguard for them to check their magicband. Although I will probably make sure I close the gate behind me and not just walk through and let it shut on its own.

Sorry I have only stayed at POR and WBC. But I have to ask? I have never seen the pool at the Poly but have eaten there multiple times. Is the pool that amazing that it's worth packing up your pool gear and kids. Then constantly looking over your shoulder with the hope of not getting thrown out. I would assume that must of the people that don't belong have no pool at all.

Personally I don't think any of the pools are worth hopping to even legitimately with DVC. Never would I visit a pool where I was a freeloader. Some are locals and some are from values that don't have slides.

I'm guessing there might be a lot of people from the Magic Kingdom just looking to cool off for a little while. Both on and off property guests. Which makes me curious if they do the same thing with the boardwalk pool.

Sadly they don't do this for Boardwalk or for the Contemporary. Both are very easy for park guests to walk to. People used to leave Epcot and go SAB at BC/YC, which is why Disney started checking for proof of staying at the resort.

what DOES WBC stand for?

think it is Wyndham Bonnet Creek - an offsite resort in the area next to CBR and POP

never Pool hopped even when we could to SAB or Polyn.

that say I agree about BW - that pool is often crowded with non-guest at the resort using it - most of these are not even DVC members. I like to talk to people and you would be surprised what you can learn. before they say they are not staying at BW - they generally look down or at each other.

now admitting it I have only been at CR since joining BLT - but it never seems to be overcrowded when I am visiting - so it must be much worst when you are there.

We were at the Poly over Memorial Day weekend, and never saw the pool gates working. Most times when we walked by, the pool gates were propped open, so anyone could come in and use the pool. Probably why we couldn't find an open pool lounger when we tried to use the new pool.

Disturbing!:scared1: NOT FAIR to paying guests! If that happens while we are there, I will notify someone with authority.::yes::
