Hi,

Please help me to decide should we go with the Poly or Comtemporary.

We are a family of 5.

Children are 3 years, 8 years, 11 years

I would appreciate any information good and bad to help me with my choice!

thanks!

My personal favorite is the Polynesian - If you like a laid-back tropical atmosphere. :sunny: We always stay there & we love it, however our last trip Feb '06, we tried the Wilderness Lodge at the urging of my DS11. We had a nice time, but I missed the Polynesian desperately!

While the Contemporary isn't our "style", we do plan to stay there for our next visit, because I think the kids would love the Magic Kingdom view. :thumbsup2 But then it's back the the Polynesian after that!!! :sunny: Good luck with your decision, I don't think you can really make a "wrong choice" here!

If its pretty much the same amount of money go to the Poly. It is a fantastic monorail resort.

I've stayed at both and I would definitely take the Polynesian. I think it just has a more 'resort' feel to it. The grounds are so nicely done and overall has just a nice atmosphere. CR is nice, just, in my opinion - nothing really unique or themed.

We've done both and my kids hands down vote for the Contemporary. They think it's awesome and the Food and Fun Center is the best!! My 3 are all boys and thought the Poly was a bit "girlie".

I liked both but being able to walk back and forth from the MK makes me put the Cont just a bit above the Poly.

if i had to choose it would be the contemporary only because ive never tried it and i want to try them all
but if you havent done either 1-do the poly
its so nice and they have ohanas

Polynesian definately for atmosphere. Contemporary is a different kind of style. It is kinda cool, but not to my taste. You should check out pictures and see if it is your style, but the Polynesian is very nice.

I perfer the POLY because the pool is awesome and the water slide is so much fun! Also they have the Kona Cafe which has wonderful food. :thumbsup2

We are a family of 5 and last year we did the CR. While we LOVED being so close to MK and the monorail, we thought that it lacked thememing. This year we have opted for the Poly. Ever since I was little I have wanted to stay there. It just looks so tropical and relaxing. I grew up going to the CR so I do like it, I am just looking for a "little more" themeing. Whatever you decide you'll have a great time- you'll be at Disney!!!

I would vote for the CR. My 3 kids loved it a few years back and we cant wait to stay there again. I like the fact that it is all in one place together. After walking long hours in the park, I dont like for my hotel to be spread out. I like the fact that I can get off the monorail and get on an elevator and be at my door. The kids loved the game room, the monorail going through the hotel, the pool and slide, and watching Chef Mickeys. We also had a too die for view of the MK from the 11th floor. We loved sitting out on the balcony watching the fireworks and the castle changing colors. We just love the CR and less themeing in the room/resort is okay for us because the trade off is a great themed view of the MK!!!!

I think the kids that age would enjoy the CR. They may not appreciate the POLY at that age. The kids enjoy the large arcade, and the monorail going right through the hotel. But, either one is great. Have a fun trip!

I have to say Poly. 1 because I've never been to CR, lol. 2. I will never forget the smell. I can still smell the gardenia in the air. It was like a dream.

Have a magical day,
Anna

My family loved the CR. Just the feeling and sight of the monorail and looking down into the Steakhouse and Chef Mickey's. We had a tower Castle view and wouldn't trade that stay for anything!! The ability to jump on the monorail at night or walk over to MK in the morning along the trail.

I like the Poly for aesthetic reasons, but there is a practical one too, particularly with younger children in tow. In addition to having its own monorail station (and bus service), the Poly is a short walk from the TTC. At the TTC you can catch the other monorail to Epcot, as well as bus service to other parks and other resorts.

Well we are going for our first trip in june for 8 days and are going to stay at the poly.

While we looked at the cr ( price was really not a big factor) . We decided that we wanted more then just staying in a hotel for our big trip.

I have a 7y/o DD who has stayed at both the CR tower and the Poly. The only thing she liked about the CR was the arcade. She loves the Poly pool, lobby, rooms, and all the flowers. I agree with her. Now when we go to the Poly we stop over at the CR and play in the arcade for a bit.

My preference is for the Contemporary, but only if it's a tower room, I don't care what any says, staying in those 'wing' room is not the same. I don't care which view, last year I had an awesome lake view room, just so long as I'm in the tower.

That said, I'm about to visit the Poly for the first time in August (part of my attempt to stay at all wdw resorts), so maybe I'll change my mind (but, I doubt it ;) ).
