Our last three visits to the Poly we requested and received the Samoa building, ground floor, looking at the Volcano Pool.

We love this location. Literally 15 steps to the pool, great atmosphere, lagoon and GF to the right, and the GCH to the left.

You will receive other great GV locations suggestions. All will be wonderful. The Poly has MANY excellent GV rooms.

I like Tahiti... it's quiet and very close to the TTC. It is a little farther if you want to get to the GCH, maybe a 5 minute walk.

Poly Garden View:

We requested Samoa last time we stayed at the Poly (June '03)

Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, and had to wait until 4:30 p.m.
We weren't disappointed. We were on the third floor, facing the Volcano Pool. Room #3609. We could even see a little of the fireworks from our balcony!
It was a little noisy at night, but we didn't seem to mind. Captain Cook's and GCH was just a quick step away.

We love Fiji- from our garden view room we had a great view of the marina, GCH, the Contemporary, Space Mt. and the Electric Water Pageant! The CM's at the Polynesian are very good about giving you the building that you want.

We stayed at the Poly in Oct, started out in GV and hated it!!! I had read that there are no bed views but I can tell you there is at least 1 because we had it. It was Tuvalu room #2416 or 2417 (I can't remember for sure). Directly in front of our balcony was a tree that we could barely see around and on the other side of the tree was the side of the Fiji building, just a wall. It was a terrible view. If we leaned out far enough, we could see the little marina, but we really had to lean. We were really disappointed, we had always wanted to stay there and had such a bad view. We were also in a smoking room and had requested non-smoking. This was Columbus Day weekend and they were booked (we were there for the entire week), we asked everyday for an upgrade. Finally on Monday afternoon, we were able to upgrade to a Lagoon view, we had to pay an additional $60 per night - WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! We ended up in Tahiti Rm #2029. We had a lagoon view, castle straight across the water, we could see GF, the ferry going to TTC, the monorail. It was perfect!!! DH & I both agreed that we would not want stay at the Poly again if we couldn't have a lagoon view. So, I cannot speak for other garden view rooms but I can say for sure that you do not want the room we had.

When we stayed at the Poly we had a first floor garden view room in Rarotonga, room 1812. We had a nice sized patio where we were greeted every morning by a few of the Poly's resident ducks! My boys had a blast feeding them, and truth be told, so did I!

Our room faced the quiet pool, but due to some privacy hedges, the view was somewhat obstructed. Still a nice room though!

Thanks for the suggestions! One question - I'm a little confused as to how you can see the Water Pageant from a garden view room. Do some of them actually have water views?

Because many garden view rooms, especially those around the marina, have a partial lagoon view if you walk out onto your balcony and look to the side. Of course that would mean you'd be on the third floor because second floor rooms don't have balconies. Here is an example... this is our third floor garden view room in Fiji.

Garden view Aotearoa is pretty cool. It's a short walk to the GCH and you get a great view of the monorail passing by your room. I would highly recommend this building for monorail fans.

As another poster said, we too love samoa, lst floor volcano pool view. with 3 ds its the perfect location for a quick dip in the pool, I also want to be close to the room if ds has an asthma attack while swimming and its a quick walk to the beach for the fireworks and elp, and right by captain cooks for mug runs and snack trips and very close to the gch for monorail access. Its really not noisy, just close the shade for privacy. We were also in aeorotora, I didnt request that, all that was available once, we didnt like it too much, a little too far away from the pool in cooler weather, view was also of the monorail, my family couldnt hear it, but I kept hearing a swishing sound and you could also hear the luau music, not loudly though, but there was definetely too much foot traffic, of all the people going to the luau etc, if you were by your room then. Good luck deciding.

Those were taken from our third floor garden view room in Fiji. All rooms in Fiji are garden view.
