Poly for 4 + baby

It's just me, but I would never do four adults in one hotel room. Besides, you'll have to pay the extra adult fee for the two extra adults. For a deluxe it's about $25 a night per extra adult. In your case, that would be $50 a night.

I think even at the Poly, it would be crowded with a Pack n Play and 4 adults. We did that at the Poly with 2 adults and the Pack n Play (Tuvalu building) and that seemed totally fine, back in 2001. But we were just at the Poly (Hawaii) with our 2 kids in January and I can't see where you would fit that crib and 4 people's stuff and everything else. I'm sure people do it.

I should have been more clear. Sorry! There wouldn't be a pack n play. She would sleep on the day bed.
If our options were fit in one room at the Poly or POR what would you suggest?
Thanks!

Definitely the Poly. Those rooms are far bigger than the POR ones. And you know you'll get daybed. At POR you get a trundle, not nearly as comfortable. You also have the balcony at the Poly, a closet and a larger bathroom.

But I have to say, I would much rather do two value rooms. Four adults in one room would be sort of tight. There just isn't much privacy in a hotel room, even a spacious one. And that bathroom thing, well don't get me started! You coud also do an All Star Music Family Suite or a Ft. Wildnerness Cabin. CSR also has some suites.

And the other thing is at the Poly you'd have two queen sized beds vs. two doubles at POR. If you have tall adults or adults who love their queen sized beds, POR would be tough. I think for a family of five with two parents and three kids, POR is tight.

But I am anal and barely want to share a room with my own family!

We do the Poly with 5 all the time. And my dd's are nearly grown. We have'nt had any issue's with lack of space. The rooms are large enough were your not bumping into each other....and with your little one on the day bed and not pack/play I think you'd be fine. :)

I agree with other posters, but IF you are going to do 1 room for all in a regular room, the Poly would be one of the "roomiest" rooms you will find. We have a family of 5 and have found that the Poly accomodates us the best out of all the resort rooms we have stayed at so far. I felt the refurbished rooms use space for storage, etc. well.
We look forward to trying OKW or Saratoga Springs sometime as our kids grow out of being able to share beds, etc. Compare prices, you may be surprised. Good Luck!

Many years ago, over 30 years we used to go and stayed at the CR, about the same set up as the Poly and we had 4 adults and 1 in a crib. No problem, plenty of room even with the crib, we put it between the bed and glass door so it never took up usable floor space. The deluxes on the monorail circuit can't be beat. Just for the location and convenience, but the room size is second to none. We done this, my family and grandparents in the late 70's and the savings was great. The idea of two rooms is a waste of money, especially deluxe prices.

Very crowded since it only comes with 2 queen size (or maybe a sleeper sofa dont know). Also y ou have a crib so the space you will have is very cramped. I suggest you reconsider where you stay and stay at one of the Deluxe Villas resorts.

I did it for a quick Halloween trip with 4 adults and a 9 year old.

Honestly it was fine. Those are large rooms and we had no problems.

We had even brought large complicated Halloween costumes and managed. It was one of the most fun trips we have gone on.

Now that you've clarified about the crib, I think you could do it if the 4 adults are all pretty comfortable with one another. I was trying to figure out where you would put the crib with the daybed already there and all. But if you're using the daybed, that makes it a bit easier.

If you do, you need to make a request for one of the buildings that's be refurbished with 2 sinks in the bathroom, I think (Hawaii only had 1 sink), and/or make sure you request a room that has a balcony or patio (some of the older buildings only have a "fake" balcony on the 2nd floor) -- that would allow a little more breathing room in my opinion. Of course, requests are not guaranteed, just requests.

Should not be an issue at all at the Polynesian Resort.

We are staying in Tahiti longhouse (in an HC accessible room), with 4 adults and DS13. Each adult couple has a queen size bed, and DS will sleep on the daybed. Yes, we had to pay the fee for additional adults in the same room, but that is a lot less $$$ than booking a second room at Poly! And since we are dealing with an ECV... staying at a deluxe resort was a much better option for us than having to be totally dependent on bus service from a value or mod.

I was curious at how the options compared in cost so I ran some numbers. Using dates in value season (9/7-9/12) for 5 nights with 4 adults and 1 infant, here's how they compare (totals are rounded up):

Poly - garden view $2100
OKW - 1bdrm $2100
Ft.W - cabin $1500
VWL - 1 bdrm $2400

These are rack rates, not using Aug/Sept. code. OKW with the code is $1550! Poly w. code is $1800. Cabins are $1100.

We are staying at VWL for the benefits of proximity to MK (pretty close w/o being on the monorail) the separate bedroom, kitchen, washer/dryer.

The theming of the Poly is incredible and being on a monorail line is terrific.
However, with 4 adults I could see the 1bdrm villa being a nice way to have a bit more space with the kitchen & laundry being an added bonus.

Go for the Poly. We had four adults at the Beach Club in one room and it was fine!! FOUR WOMEN even!! A girls trip...this year we are going to the POLY!! It will be fine. Just be tolerant of space and others and you will be good. The Poly is amazing. My family of five has been there twice and we will be back one of these days. We also put three adults and two kids in one room at POR. All of these trips were awesome and wonderful. I would do it again and again if it meant I could be at WDW! You really are not in your room much and the boat and monorail access at the POLY...worth every square inch of space you will have to share!

I am curious...what is the set up of the people going?? Two couples?? Family members?? All ladies or guys?? Just curious because honestly it would be weird to share a room with another couple and my husband....but we could probably do it if we had to!! If it meant being at the Poly vs two rooms at a value...sorry I must be crazy but POLY all the way.

It is actually going to be myself, my husband, 2 year old daughter, my mom and my brother. We were going to do 2 rooms at POR, but I think being on the monorail with my daughter will be so much easier. My husband and brother aren't going to be in the room except to sleep. My mom and I will be with my daughter, so we will probably need breaks/naps. So really I think the only time we will all be in the room will be to sleep. I'm so excited!!!:cheer2: I can't believe I didn't realize that this was an option for us sooner
Thanks everyone for your input

In that scenario of being with family members, I would be okay sharing a room. Although given the way my husband snores, I doubt anyone in my family would want to share a room with us!

The Poly's rooms are very nice and large and having that balcony for you and your mom to relax on while your little girl naps will be very nice.

Have a wonderful trip, the Poly is sheer heaven.:cloud9:

I say stay w/ the Poly :) We cruised in December w/ my inlaws and 4 children. The rooms were connecting and we had 2 adults and 2 children per room on the reservation. When we got on board, none of the kids wanted to sleep with the inlaws so we ended up w/ all 6 of us in our TINY room. We made out just fine, kids came home alive and inlaws were too :) If we can survive on a ship w/ 6 in a room smaller than those at the Poly, you can do it with 5 at the Poly :)
