No, too much planning. You'll have to wake up at 5am on the day you want to ride.

How will they screw with point charts then though? hahahaha
Interesting to see all the negative reaction on social media from mostly non-DVC people, complaining about everything from the general look of the resort and the loss of spirit of aloha, to money grab/Chapek out and the need for a 5th gate with more lodging capacity. I don't really care about any of that though, I'm super excited about this!
DIS Twitter is always an echo chamber. The Spirit of Aloha show has been going downhill for years. I hate to lose live entertainment, but the show was dated, it was not authentic, the food was mediocre and the venue was run down.
Then update it? Get performers from Aulani and offer them a chance to live in Florida for a while? Bring some of that show to WDW.
Some people might be update over updates but I think the bigger issue is a complete loss of a dinner theatre offering.
Absolutely!!!!Time to start a rumored sales start date thread for Poly 2!!!![]()

I don't think the demand was there. When they built this show, Walt Disney World was 1 park, tiki culture was very popular and there was no nightlife options. That's changed. It's been years, but the last time we went the vast majority of the seating wasn't even full. There's just too many other things to do at Walt Disney World now than attend a 70's-style luau for the cost of a dinner at California Grill.
still Hoop-de-doo Revue
Mickey's Backyard BBQ
Does anyone else think that a late 2024 opening date is a little ambitious for a ground up build? I'm thinking that the supply of building materials alone could severely impact the timetable. This is why, while I'm happy to see a new building, I'm surprised that the next DVC at WDW is not another resort room flip of some sort.
Mickey's Backyard BBQ was discontinued due to the building of Reflections. So now what will happen with the Reflections land? Sit idle but still mean the path between WL and Ft. Wilderness is closed until 2024 or later?I don't think the demand was there. When they built this show, Walt Disney World was 1 park, tiki culture was very popular and there was no nightlife options. There's still Hoop-de-doo Revue and I guess Mickey's Backyard BBQ sort of qualifies.
I suppose that these would be materials that were already on hand when Reflections got mothballed. That would be a good reason why we're seeing a building that looks like Polyflections.I suspect they already have a good amount on order. I mean we are talking about almost 3 years. Its also not a massive location like you would have had with Reflections. Plus its already developed land so not like they are starting from a decaying water park.

For me, one of the biggest things I fear is the walking path from Poly to GF (and thus MK) will be closed for most, if not all, of the construction period. I realize there is the monorail, but I just prefer walking... plus no security check point between the resorts if you walk. When do we think they will break ground on this project? Going to be a lot of construction noise for those who have trips planned. I hope Disney gives ample notice so we can change resorts if need be.
