I'm not voting, because I'm not against the Frozen ride, I just think it shouldn't be at Epcot.

Frozen all the way. I agree with others that I would prefer they add new attractions to EP rather than change current, but if I were to pick an attraction to get rid of, I'd say it's a toss-up between Captain EO and Maelstrom for me.

I've never liked Maelstrom. My kids will love a Frozen ride. It's a nice tie-in to Norway.

Why not do both? Keep Maelstrom and build the Frozen ride. You could have a walkway path that takes you behind the Maelstrom building for the new Frozen ride or build it on top of Maelstrom. Why not? ::yes::

I voted for Maelstrom but the more I think about it, the more open I am becoming to the idea of Frozen being featured in Norway. Let's think about The Three Caballeros in the Mexico pavilion: the ride highlights the sights and sounds of Mexico while creating a storyline with the animated characters. I wouldn't be against Disney creating a Norway-centric ride that just happens to feature characters from Frozen. I am, however, against an overtly Frozen- or Arendelle-themed ride that only hints at the real-life country that World Showcase is supposed to be celebrating.

I love Frozen. I really do. I don't think that's the issue. The issue is whether or not Arendelle, a fictional place, should be the focus of the Norway pavilion.

Edit: On second (third?) thought, maybe they should just re-theme Blizzard Beach to Frozen and leave Maelstrom alone.

Sprinkling a little movie magic through the countries would definitely increase foot traffic. I appreciate the foodie wonderland that is World Showcase, but adding more Norway/Frozen, France/Belle, China/Mulan, et all seems to work nicely.

I voted Maelstrom. The Fictional Land of Arendelle does not belong in World Showcase.

Yes Frozen is very popular. Yes there should be a ride. Just not in World Showcase. Maybe not even in Epcot Period.

The world showcase is the absolute worst place to put anything frozen related. Very disappointing.

Aside from the fact that we love Maelstrom, we're kind of wondering how busy the entire pavilion will be? Have you seen the amount of people standing around before they get into Akershus??? Add a tier 1 FP and a meet and greet???? I'll have to buy my Laila online!

I loathe Frozen but still choose that ride. I know many have nostalgia about Maelstrom, but it is just not a good ride. If the new Frozen ride is a legit, mind blowing Tier 1 ride, then it is something Epcot sorely needs.

I doubt they could fit an E-Ticket where Maelstrom is. But either way, there is plenty of space at WDW for them to add a stupid Frozen attraction without taking out a classic.

As is, Frozen was a retarded movie and if Disney gives us the same ol' shtick with a new ride, no thanks. The movie sucked, no need for them to build an attraction around it.

I hope they come to their senses and keep Maelstrom. :sad2:

I wish it didn't have to be one or the other.

Whatever anyone's opinion on Frozen is, it's not going away. It was a huge, Oscar-winning success for Disney, and representation in the parks with a permanent ride/attraction has always seemed inevitable.

That being said, I'm sad at the apparent lack of innovation on display from WDW at the moment. Why overlay an existing ride (which I can't help thinking will be the same ride with some animatronic characters shoved in where trolls used to be)? Why no new, innovative attraction that would truly deserve long lines and a 1st tier status? And why not update Maelstrom so that we can keep the theme of the Norwegian pavilion and still have something new and exciting?

I enjoyed Frozen, and Let It Go is pretty much on repeat in my house (no kids, that's just me) but I have to say that I'm starting to resent how much it seems to be taking over. Even the promotion for Once Upon A Time seems to have forgotten that there are other characters on the show. We have a WDW trip planned for next year and I'm watching all the news and changes wondering if we're still going to Disney World or Frozen Land. Let me say again, I absolutely agree with a new attraction, Frozen fireworks etc - I just feel that when other attractions are removed to make way for it, it feels over the top.

keep Maelstrom :thumbsup2, and do away with frozen or give it some little out of the way corner, i'm tired of all the frozen this, frozen that stuff. Disney got Lucky with the movie and there riding high on it but who knows if by the time the new frozen attraction is ready will people even still be interested in frozen.

My kids absolutely love all things Frozen so I think they had to add an attraction somewhere. I think its too bad they couldn't have both though.

Personally it upsets me that they are changing to a Frozen ride. The best thing about Epcot are the countries in WS and the educational value to everyone, kids included while still having fun and being entertained.

I truly think they should have put it in DHS or MK but NOT Epcot!

After Imagination and the Mexico ride, I do not trust them when it comes to re-doing rides.

I like Maelstrom. I can't imagine going from gruff Vikings to the frozen girls.

If they just change the scenery but keep the ride the same, which is what I bet they do, then it will be a major disappointment.

I am surprised this is so close. Especially here on the DIS. I thought it would be a blow-out of 10%/90%. I personally don't care for maelstrom, so don't care if they change it, but don't really care for frozen either.

Although I like Maelstrom and I'm not as crazy as everyone else is about Frozen, I think it might be a good idea to bring something else from a Disney movie to Epcot.

Believe it or not, I have never been on Maelstrom. I'm not sure why. I plan on doing it this year. Hopefully it will still be open in Dec. I also haven't seen Frozen yet. There is SO much hype, I'm now nervous to watch it, LOL.
