I wish it didn't have to be one or the other.
Whatever anyone's opinion on Frozen is, it's not going away. It was a huge, Oscar-winning success for Disney, and representation in the parks with a permanent ride/attraction has always seemed inevitable.
That being said, I'm sad at the apparent lack of innovation on display from WDW at the moment. Why overlay an existing ride (which I can't help thinking will be the same ride with some animatronic characters shoved in where trolls used to be)? Why no new, innovative attraction that would truly deserve long lines and a 1st tier status? And why not update Maelstrom so that we can keep the theme of the Norwegian pavilion and still have something new and exciting?
I enjoyed Frozen, and Let It Go is pretty much on repeat in my house (no kids, that's just me) but I have to say that I'm starting to resent how much it seems to be taking over. Even the promotion for Once Upon A Time seems to have forgotten that there are other characters on the show. We have a WDW trip planned for next year and I'm watching all the news and changes wondering if we're still going to Disney World or Frozen Land. Let me say again, I absolutely agree with a new attraction, Frozen fireworks etc - I just feel that when other attractions are removed to make way for it, it feels over the top.
