Poll: Having stayed at Deluxes AND Values, would you stay at a Value again?

1. Yes! While they don't have the amenities of the Deluxes or Moderates, they're lots of fun and inexpensive!

2. Possibly. If we're not going to spend much time in the parks, we'd do it again.

3. Only if we were on a super-tight budget and it was either Values or no WDW!

4. No! It's my vacation and I won't spend it in a tiny, noisy room again!


Since this topic seems to come up frequently, I wanted a poll to get a clearer general consensus. Feel free to elaborate on your choice!

We've stayed at the Dolphin, POP, and All Stars. While we love the Dolphin, we would not be able to afford 6-8 weekends per year at Disney if we always stayed at the Dolphin, even at the discounted prices we've found.

Luckily both DH and I think the Values are a blast! Over-the-top theming is a big plus, as are the food courts where you can have wine with dinner!!, and the excellent bus transportation.

We have stayed at WL, Dolphin, POR and POP. We have had great experiences at all. We go back to POP because its affordable, the kids love it and we have met really nice people there. I received the nicest compliment about one my kids by another parent at POP that I have ever received.

I think it is a nice hotel for what you pay. I would rather pay that and stay in Disney than stay outside for the same price at a nicer hotel.
If you ask my daughter (who has stayed in almost every Disney resort) she will tell you her favorite is the one with the giant sized Disney characters. (ASM)

we stayed at All Star Music in 96
Wilderness Lodge in 01
PO/FQ in 02 (needed a room at 22hr notice starting Thanksgiving wknd)
VWL/CB in 04 (MILs house unliveable due to hurricanes last yr so the 2nd wknd was at CB)
thought Id never again book a value

but the only way to get DS & I to WDW for 14nights this Aug was to reserve Pop for the 1st 5nights before going to WL & BCV

Good Question

We have stayed at most of the deluxe resorts and stayed at the All Star Music with some family. I have to say I thought the service was far better at the All Stars. It seemed like they tried harder. Housekeeping was there in a flash whenever we called. But......... It was noisy and bus transportaion was not as fun as monorail and boat. We were with our family and we had a lot of fun. We are on a tight budget now and we were going to try Pop Century but or experiance at the all Stars influanced our decision to stay, at least, at a moderate. We are going to POFQ in 6 days.

Yes, because I like to stay at the Polynesian and I like going to WDW for 10 day trips. I can't afford the Poly for that long, so I can stay at Pop for part of the trip to save some $$.

No! Having stayed at CB our first trip, All Star Music our 2nd trip and BCV our most recent trip we would most likely (never like to say never) not stay in a value again. Our experience at ASM was not very enjoyable for a variety of reasons but if given a FREE trip to Disney and our only choice was value then we would stay there otherwise it is Deluxe for us! Great poll idea - always love to hear what others have to say!!

As a matter of fact I'm staying at Pop for a few nights on my next trip. We started off staying at ASMusic. Next trip we stayed at ASMovies (which I really enjoyed) Then we tried a split stay at WL and GF. I LOVE GF! Last trip we split between POFQ and CR Wing.I think I might love CR more than GF(shhh don't let GF know ) I think mods are a bit overpriced for what you get. So on my upcoming trip we're doing 3 resorts... POP, WL and CR Tower. I look forward to my stay at Pop.

For a short stay - sure. We had a lot of fun at All Star Movies.

For a longer stay - no I don't think so. For those give me my DVC one-bedroom!

While I'd love to spend 2 weeks in a deluxe, no matter how I cut it the budget just wouldn't take it! But I'm very excited that in August we'll spend 7 nights at POP (2nd visit) while we commando the parks then 4 nights (1st visit, can't wait!) at BC to enjoys the amenities of the resort!

Every resort is special in its own way. Our favorites are poly, contemporary, WL and AKL and now POP. We keep choosing pop because we can stay longer and believe it or not the transportation is better. We also love everything about it-especially at Christmas.

Absolutely! I do it all of the time. We go 4 times a year. 2 times we stay at delux and 2 times we stay at value.

Yes! Last year we went to Wilderness Lodge, this year we spent time at Pop!

We have also stayed at All Stars. Its all about rate for us.

We're booked at ASMovies in June at the end of our stay. We start at BCV and move over to Movies for the last three nights. If we get a really good AP rate, I may change those nights to POR but only because that was our first resort and dd loves it there! We have had good stays at the value resorts. Sure, they have fewer amentities than the deluxes but for shorter stays it just isn't an issue. Would I want to stay in a value for more than 5 days? Probably not, but if it meant not going to WDW or staying value....well, I think I know what I would do.

I voted yes. I am an ex-resort snob. Now, I like the giant icons, I like the food courts, I like the extra friendliness of the folks who stay at the values and I like the business and the buzz of a value resort. However, I would only stay at one for a short stay of no more than 4 days. Any longer and I miss the larger rooms and nicer pools of the moderates and deluxes. I stayed at POP last August and met a family from the UK that had stayed there for 2 weeks! While I have stayed at WDW for 2 weeks I wouldn't be able to do it in a Value resort! I guess I'm still a little snobbish .

Our first trip we stayed at all star sports and on our next trip at AKL.Our next stay will be at POP. I like the theming at the values much better to me it feels more like Disney.We spend such a small amount of time at the resort it really doesn t pay for us to pay the extra for a deluxe.

We stayed at AKL and POP last year. This year, we wanted to stay at AKL, but for budgetary reasons, we're hoping to get in at POP or ASMo instead. DS3 loved AKL b/c of the animals, but I think he'll really like ASMO since he's a big Toy Story fan...he also really liked POP. We aren't used to luxury at home, and we found the room adequate and clean at pop and the pool was fine too. Also I like the OTT theming at the Values. We're hoping to take our au pair with us for a trip in August (read: DH and I can go on Grown-Up rides...) so it will definately be a Value as she'll need her own room.

We stayed at All Star Movies. The outside decor was great for the kids. The room was fine. However, it wasn't easy to relax at that resort. We hated only having a food court and no sit down. Hated having to take the bus everywhere.

I've never felt all that comfy in a value, so when I'm planning my vacations far in advance, I try to book mods or deluxe. So I chose "Only is the budget was super-tight and it was a choice of Values or no WDW!"

Then again, if I was dying to go this weekend and it was a value or nothing, POP here I come!
