Perhaps all future buyers should be subject to the "DVC Board of Ethical Review" - headed up by a few of the ethically superior folks here on the Dis...

Well, if it helps to weed out the selfish, disrespectful, inconsiderate, spoiled, self centered, rude .......

There's trying to define it again - see I define selfish and rude as those who assume they know what is best for everyone else and want to dictate it. Others who have commented - believe that selfish and rude equal when THEIR plans are disrupted/have to change - because of others' actions...When I can't get a ressie (and that RARELY happens - even with all this WILLFUL DISREGARD FOR OTHERS' running rampant in the DVC) I don't immediately assume it is a bunch of unfit hooligans hogging up the system with their indecisive rude, immoral, unpatriotic, un-american, undisney dooda day actions. I say - "Can I get on the waitlist" or "can you try these days".

Geesh - I hope my vacationing at Disney World ddoesn't cause large implements to get lodged in my posterior as obviously has occured with a few others...

I guess my views aren't as ethically black-and-white as your poll laid out....

Odd, I never imagine being considerate to others, good manners and accountibility as ever being anything but "black-and-white". Explain the gray portions of these traits to me.

Was this directed towards me? If so, the answer's no...I didn't vote at all. I just like posting my smilies to break up the tension sometimes!

Your poll asked if I am accountable to all members or if I can do as I want with my points - If you can't see the "grey" portions between those two questions, I doubt anything I say will shine the light.

It is a timeshare and yes I can do as I want with my 150 points every year. And no - I am not a renter - but I have been a rentee on a few occasions. I can look back on all my reservations and stays with a clear conscience knowing I have never asked for any mickey soaps beyond the recommended daily allowance and have even taken my own trash to the dumpster so mousekeeping wouldn't have to. I have tipped and never asked for special views - and didn't complain when I got the dumpster view at VWL - even though I called at the 11 month mark

So I guess I just don't see "doing as I want with my points" being synonomous to "screwing over fellow members" as you obviously equate...

I do not see how I or anyone else can possibly be accountable to 70,000 plus members - or why anyone would want to consider 70,000 other people every time they made vacation plans.

I can "assume" what you meant - but that it simply not clear in the poll questions. Perhaps the poll should have been a choice between: "Are you a selfish, inconsiderate, *******? or Do you ask "What-would-Walt-do before every call to MS?"

Okay...I figured as much. Let the discussion continue!

The poll was specifically dealing with the way people use their points, as inspired by Richyams thread about a person who was holding two ressies until a renter decided which one they wanted to use.

I then posted an example of myself exercising my rights as a member to book 12 studios, for just one weeknite,at a very popular time, and doing so three consecutive weeks, and the negative affect this would have on members wishing to book whole weeks durin the same time.

There are other examples thruout the threads that show how what YOU do with your points can affect the way I can use mine. I personally think I am accountible to my fellow members and being so means I will use my points wisely and in a manner that will not cause others grief.

It probably is a poorly worded poll, but I thought others understood the context it was written in.

Captain Midnight,
Looks like you and I are heading for a smilie showdown soon!

I think the wording was expressed very well and think everyone understood the context it was written in. That also explains the result so far.

So now we have proof! 61.2% of DVC members are unethical, inconsiderate and rude!

Just as Richyams deduced!

I never knew what a horrible group of people I would have as neighbors - but wait - I guess they are my kin - as I am part of the majority!

The world truly is going to he** in a handbasket...
