points vs. rack room rates

Just noticed something interesting and I'm wondering if I am missing something. BVC 1 bedroom in July is 60 points per night on weekends. Many people rent points at $10 per point, which would make these nights $600 per night. Rack room rates are listed as $390 per night on the Disney website. Am I missing something? Why does Disney consider this value season for people that are paying cash, but it's one of the more expensive times for DVC members?

A weekday during that time period is 30 points or $300. So, to stay a week would run $2,700 renting DVC vs. $3,044 (rack rate with tax). The savings come in when you don't rent Friday and Saturday nights. Disney can beat the price since they charge the same price every day of the week.

It would be $300 vs. $435 would be the difference on weekday rentals.

I'm not sure why they broke out the seasons so differently. I guess they assume the majority of DVC owners will be booking summer (school vacation) time to use their points and raised the points during this time period.
