Points for cruise- 3rd and 4th passengers

I have learned so much from this sight. Thank you everyone for your help. I am so excited to finally be a DVC member and should be able to make my first reservation next week.

We are taking a cruise and using our points.
Should we pay for DS 4 and DD 1 with points or cash?

If we pay cash, do we still go through MS?

If we pay cash are we eligible for the kids sail at 50% or kids sail free promos?

You will get lots of comments about whether it is a good value to use your points for a cruise. I have used points for a cruise and I had no problem with it. Yes, you could rent your points and use the money to buy a cruise and probably have some spending money left over, but right now with the economy the way it is, renting points is a little tough. But, it can be done, and you can save money that way but...you will have to take the time to rent your points, wait for all the money to be settled and then make your cruise plans. So what it comes down to, is it worth it to you.

When you book your cruise through MS you can pay cash for your children at that time too. It is a pre-arranged price for the children, I think it is very minimal for the one year old, in fact. When you make your ressie, they will require the cash payment for them on credit card at that time, in full.

DVC is not offering the promos you mentioned above for the children. We have sailed on points many times, and you will be pleased with the ease and efficiency when you book. Good luck!
