points at different dvc locations

I am in the process of joining the Saratoga Springs DVC. I read somewhere that I should buy 150 points at Saratoga and buy additional points at ie. Disney Beach club. What would be the advantage of doing something like this if available.

If you were able to do this it would allow you to make 11 month reservations at another resort (you could make 11 month reservations at SSR with those points and 11 month reservations at BCV with those. At 7 months you could combine them). Of course only home resort points can be used for an 11 month reservation but a lot of people with small contracts bank and borrow from the small contract to go somewhere different every two or three years.
