I understand the one transfer per UY rule, but can someone transfer points from two different resorts at the same time and still meet the "once per UY" requirement?

For example (total hypothetical), if I wanted a 200 pt transfer to my account could someone who owned 500 OKW and 500 SSR transfer me 100 OKW and 100 SSR or would they need to transfer 200 from just one of these resorts?

If their two resorts are off of the same master contract, then then they would only be allowed to transfer once.

Also, you are only allowed one transfer in or out per UY, so you could not receive two transfers in one UY.

Sorry I'm slow... are you saying that since the points are coming from 2 resorts that they would be 2 transfers? Or does having them on a "master contract" eliminate this issue?

One can have two different DVC resorts under the same master contract number.

Only one transfer per UY in or out is allowed per master contract.

To be honest, I don't know whether one can transfer 100 points from resort A + 100 points from resort B under the same master contract and have that be just one transfer. I highly suspect not.

Since only one transfer in or out is allowed per UY, you cannot receive two transfers of points within the same master contract in a UY.

I hope that helps.

I have 3 resorts under one master contract (OKW, HH, BCV). Last year I transfered points to my brother and they were a combination of HH and OKW points. When I was doing the transfer, it sounded to me like I could have transfered any combination I chose. (ie..50 from BCV, 50 from OKW and 50 from HH if that's the way I wanted to do it). Is that what you wee asking?

I think that's what the OP wanted! Now we're both edified!

So one other question about transfers. If I have 100 points that I'm not going to use, and two other owners are interested in 50 each, if I do the transfer at the same time does that count as only 1 transfer ?

Just trying to figure out the mechanics on how people can transfer points to multiple owners without running into the 1 transfer per UY barrier.

Thanks,

Chris

No, that would require two separate transfers from your account and cannot be done at the same time (it would be 2 different transactions). There is no way to make multiple transfers from one account for a single Use Year.

I think you could however, transfer points from your 2008 Use Year into another member's 2008 Use Year and then also transfer your 2009 points to another 2009 Use Year even on the same day. That would use the transfer limit for both Use Years and you would then not be able to make another transfer from that account until the 2010 Use Year is involved.

Thanks Doc -

Appreciate the help.

Exactly what I was asking - thanks for the response. I will also check with MS, but I always like to hear what the disboard experts think!
