I have been planning (meaning still not booked anywhere yet) our first Disney trip for months now!

We are a family of 5 (Me, DH, <ages will be>DS-6, DS's(twins) - 18mths)

I think I have narrowed down the resorts to POFQ and Pop Century. Can anyone tell me which they think is the better of the two? Especially considering the twins ages. I am hoping they will just want to sleep with us, but I am taking the pack-n-plays just in case they would rather sleep in them. Do you think 2 p-n-p's would fit in either room? It doesn't seem that POFQ is that much bigger then Pop Century, any opinions on this?

thanks!

I haven't stayed at the Pop Century, but I have stayed at the All Stars (same room size) and the POFQ. We are a family of five (no twins, but three little ones - everyone is under 6.)

I love the All Stars & Pop Century because the theming is really cute for the kids. The rooms are small - but clean and cute. We were ok as a family of five and 1 pack and play on our last trip
(ages 4, 2, and 10 months). Our 10 month old ended up sleeping with us most of the time and the 2 older girls shared the other bed. The room is small, but we got a little extra space by moving beds up agains the walls.

If you could manage with the twins in your bed or with one pack and play, I would say the Pop Century would be ok -- but I honestly think 2 pack and plays would be really pushing it.

We also stayed in the POFQ, and I thought it was the most beautiful of all the moderates - and the themeing is good for kids too. Your 6 year old would love the water slide! (Although, the fountains do look liek fun at the Pop Century). The rooms aren't *much* bigger, but they definitely are noticeably bigger! I would book here if you are going to have 2 pack plays or if you feel cramped fairly easily.

How long are you going for? We usually go for at least a week and stay at 2 different resorts. It's fun to see two places, it saves some money to split between a value and a moderate rather than a moderate the whole time, and it's easy to change hotels. Disney will move your luggage for free while you are at the parks....so you might want to consider that option, too.

Hope that helps!

PS There is also a Resorts board where you can get lots of good info about the resorts. (The moderator probably move this thread over to that board).

I have never been to the Pop Cen. but have been to POFQ. I think the kids would enjoy the festive atmosphere of the POFQ, and would love the pool area. On the other hand they may like the larger than life icons at PC. But one thing to keep in mind at PC is that the resort is themed by years in history, such as the 50's, the 80's, and the 90's. You and DH may appreciate this, but I don't know if the children would really understand it. (just my opinion). Another thing, many resorts offer free cribs, (at least they use to). You may want to check in to this instead of packin two pack and plays.

We are splitting a stay between POP and POFQ. We have 2 rooms booked at each resort (though it was a tough call between 1 room @ Beach club and 2 rooms @ POFQ):scratchin. We are staying at Pop first. I think kids will enjoy it because of the Goofy surfer and fountains, Baloo & Mowgli figures and flower showers in the Hippy pool. We are moving to POFQ for me as I would like to ue the jacuzzi and riverboat to DD and the landscaping is gorgeous. The kids love the look of the Dragon slide too.:smooth:

We've stayed at POFQ for our 2 trips. There are only 4 of us so we didn't deal with the pack 'n plays. The rooms aren't huge but if you collapsed the cribs (just to get them out of the way) except for night time I think it would work fine. We liked the theming of POFQ because it's so calm compared to the theming at the parks. Everything is over the top all day and then you come back and it's so restful. Also, virtually every room is close to the bus stop because it's a small resort.
