Hey everyone!

so far we have dodged any significant snowfall (knock wood) which has been good for me - I am still having trouble getting a mitten on! I am still off work this week, and possibly next.

I was able to supervise beignets this weekend!

They were good.

I like Paul's pictures earlier too = they made me feel warmer!

Have a great day!

Wow those look so yummy :goodvibes I love the chef's hat too - very cool :cool2:

Happy Thursday folks! :wave2:

Bex - the pins!

Donna - I've really got have beignets now! :goodvibes

Went to the Opening Ceremony rehearsal last nite - what a fab time! [Even tho security to get in was long queues in the rain and it was a bit of a walk to a subway stn at the end] All the "headliners" were there and they ran thru the entire show...with stand-ins for the IOC President and Governor General...talk about playing roles :rotfl2: We're sworn to secrecy to not spoil Canada's gift to the world so I won't say who or what went on but I think the OC is definitely worth watching!!! It's on Friday...if you see it, tell me what you think :happytv:

Tracey: stay safe and warm...and pls send snow this way. It rained while we were waiting to get thru security for the event yesterday and today looks like more showers. In fact 4 of the next 6 days are forecasted to be wet  ...good thing I brought my duck webbing with me :rotfl:

cheers,
:flower3:

That sounds fab :thumbsup2 I'll hopefully remember to watch it - need to check when and which channel it will be on. I saw on a kids news program yesterday it's been the warmest January for a while over there and they have trucks full of snow in case they run out :scared1: It would be an intersting winter Olympics with no snow

Yey for Fridays :cool1: So glad the weekend is alost here :worship: It's been a long week but a good one - we've booked on the Med cruise that Pete and Walter are doing - can't believe how good the prices are and it's so easy for us to get to Barcelona :cloud9: We'll have to economise for the next few months but I think by April Gav will need a break - he works so hard  - I always need a break :rotfl: It's a fabulous way to see some places in Europe that we've both never done before :woohoo:

Have a great weekend everyone :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Karen, Sounds like you had a good time at the Rehearsal. Hopefully, I can catch some of the show tonight. We are trying to send the snow back up north, but it is not cooperating. :( As we have more in the forecast for this weekend. I am so READY FOR SPRING.

The chef's hats are both Daddy's...he does all the cooking, I do the baking. :goodvibes

As for B.C.'s snow - our weather network has been covering their lack of winter. They are using hay bales to build up the base, and trucking in the snow from elsewhere. They are supposed to get 10-15 cm (15 cm = 6 inches) today so at least a little topping of proper snow...:sad2:

Send that north and WEST please - I am enjoying not having too much snow here! We had more than enough last year!

The cruise sounds soooo good right now - I am very jealous! You are going to have a blast!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

Don't you be wishing snow my way Mister! :rotfl:

I'm not wishing you squat! Natural weather patterns just bring our misery to you in a couple days. If we can wish it over the continental divide (aka the Rockies) we're in the clear.

OMG I don't even get squat from you. Nice! :goodvibes

Karen, I'm still watching here in Colorado but I'm loving it. I wasn't sure what to expect but this is really cool. The Orcas were AWESOME. Sarah is on now with those cool trees. The Polar Bear with the ice breaking up was neat.
I'm glad they weren't trying to make it bigger and better than Beijing.
I bet it was nice being inside and not sitting outside in the rain. That was smart on their part having it inside.

I'm glad they weren't trying to make it bigger and better than Beijing.

That's not a Canadians way. We (America) would try to do that. M hat is off to Vancouver for an elegant show. (Even if Bryan Adams is a tool.:sad2:)

:banana::banana:
YAHOO!!!!!

And here I was just going to suggest George got his East and West mixed up!

You are correct Donna I didn't read Todd's post right. So I guess I owe Todd a slushie or something. :) Oh, and keep the squat buddy. :rotfl:

He kinda cuts you like a knife doesn't he?

Hi Everyone....10 months will fly. See you soon. :wave2:

Ack!

I was away last night.

My VCR did not record the opening ceremonies well and I must not have set the time right. I started taping at 7:00, nothing important. I only got about 20-30 minutes after the parade of nations.

What I have seen so far, is great. We really liked the particpation of the native First Nations people!

I am trying to find the opening ceremony online now.
