Welcome home to those that are back home now! Is anyone swaying still? Lol - seriously, this is the first time I have after getting off the ship in awhile. I guess it was the last night of serious rocking - did anyone else "notice" it? What made it hard to sleep was the constant creaking sound of the wardrobe and there was no stopping it so we just tried our best to "rest" through the night. The movement didn't bother me, just the noise and sadly, I had already packed my fan up (white noise).

What did you all think of the cruise? I'm so sorry we didn't make it to the cabin crawl as we had hoped to and I would have liked to have met you all. I have no clue if I bumped into any of you all along the way? :) We ended up going to the port talk and it ran longer than expected during the scheduled cabin crawl time.

We had a fabulous time and my Mom was just oohed and ahhed alll week. She truly gets it and although she has always been a Disney fan and respected them as a company - she clearly got to see why we rave about it so much. She said she loved the shows and characters the most. She reasoned to me the characters were always so loving and kind to everyone and really gave each person individual attention and that impressed her. She especially loved the Genie from the shows but we noticed there were two different ones. I'm convinced the one she loved (he was the heavier set one) was also on the Dream because he made a big impression on us too.

For our dining team we had Stipe from Croatia and Pat from Thailand and they were awesome of course. To be honest, they weren't my favorites, but I have no complaints.

We did the Gingerbread House making class and really enjoyed that and also weren't quite proud of our house and hated to leave it behind.

I rebooked for Spring Break 2014 on the Fantasy for my DH and DS and I can't wait for them to experience it! This was my third DCL cruise this year so I think waiting until 2014 might be hard, but financially necessary :lmao:

I'd loved to hear your experiences from the week....

Take care,
Heather

Hi Heather!

I did not notice rocking the last night, nor come home swaying. That happened to DH once, back in Oct 2011 and it was a crazy!! Normally the first and last nights have some motion crossing the current though. (Interestingly enough, on that cruise, Stipe was our asst. server!!!)

The cruise was great - relaxing. I only got off the ship with DD for 3 hrs in Grand Cayman to go to her Del Sol store & to swim at Margaritaville, and of course, CC!! DH got off in the other ports to use the Internet. I loved being on the ship, relaxing, going with the flow, & not being tied down to any excursions.

We did the gingerbread house making as well, but we ate the roof for dessert after lunch one day :) That was a fun activity!

I most enjoyed all of the decorations. It was great!!

Glad you had a fun time! We'll be back in our same stateroom on March 9th!!!

Too funny - but I guess not too uncommon really - you had Stipe as well. I'm assuming you mean on the swaying cruise for DH? He was very nice but I think the children at the other tables took the majority of his time and since I've always cruised with my DH and DS in the past, it felt a little different being at an "adult only" table. I don't like a lot of attention so no worries, but I could see the minor differences.

When did you guys do the Gingerbread class? Ours was moved to the Costa Maya day and I'm pretty sure it was at 10:30am. I giggled when I read you guys ate your roof - I thought about it, but my Mom probably would have screamed. It was really cute that she kept looking at ours in our room and remarked every time what a good job we did. :rotfl:

We also stayed on the ship throughout the week. We did get off just long enough to walk to the end of the piers, take a picture, back on. We did spend more time in CC - obviously - and my Mom quickly saw why people rave so much about the precious island. We really enjoyed just being there and slowing down a bit.

As you know, we have "the cabin" booked for what I hope will be my DS's Spring Break, but as a "back up", we were able to get 6690 after I booked the other week while on board. I can't wait.

Heather ;)

Yes, Stipe was our asst server on the Magic in Oct 2011 & was excellent. He was pretty new then. That cruise was the one & only time he swayed once we got home.

Gingerbread was 9am on CM day. It was a blast!

You will love "the room" 8) I exercised on the verandah 4 mornings (and went to the gym at 6:30am the others). Sorry to the people below us...

Loved the cruise but I'm seriously swaying....never had a problem at the ports so it must have been from the last night. From what I'm reading taking half a sea sick tablet helps with that so ill be doing that today. I had to keep sitting down last night I was so dizzy. I'm hating having to go back to work tomorrow, hope everyone made it home safely!

Huh...just noticed my signature reset for next year already maybe it's telling me I need start picking new dates :) lol

Yep - that's me exactly! :) That last night was pretty intense and I think that's what did it to me!

DH and I both felt the movement the most on the last night. I felt like I was moving all over the bed! We also both felt like we were swaying and that lasted until last night- quite a weird feeling!

Glad to hear how much you and your mom enjoyed the cruise! We had a blast too!

My hubby and i had a brutal swaying day yesterday too. This was our first cruise and didnt sleep much that last night. Plus all 4 of us caught the cough and fever going around.

The cruise was amazing otherwise!!
Trish

Make sure cough + fever isn't a sinus infection. My husb and I get those a lot on cruises (esp DCL)

Wow, I didn't realize something was going around. I'm thankful that at least it's not noro. My mom was knocked down this morning, really bad sore throat, lost her voice, feeling really crummy and we didn't realize it had been going around the ship.

DH has the cough/fever as well. I'm banking on the flu. He's been fighting the chills & feeling miserable. Here's hoping he keeps it to himself! (I had the flu shot but not DD!)

DD got pink eye in both eyes. Better that than what DH has....

I've not been stricken with anything so far (knock on wood)!!!!

Interesting ~ I've had this since Wednesday of last week and it feels like Laryngitis. I have not had a fever and I've been ok, just not 100%. I hope it passes soon for both of us! :thumbsup2

Yikes!! I hope Scott feels better soon and your DD gets over pink eye soon :flower3: And for you ~ stay we'll ;)

In 6 Disney trips and 3 cruises this is the first time I picked up something (I consider minor) so it's just bound to happen.

Take care everyone,
Heather

The guy who played the genie played it both nights. We met him at the muster drill and then again helping with photos with Mickey one day and I had a whole conversation with him about it! This is his first cruise and he's from Canada.

I also felt rocking all the way til lat night. I think I finally feel normal today!

We had an amazing cruise!!

Did she watch one of the shows in the room? Because the tape they showed in the cabins had a different cast and thus she would have had two genies.

Ugh my husband got sick today but thinks it might be work related, rather than cruise related. Hopefully not the full-out flu.

Interestingly... we've only ever gotten sick on Disney cruises... not the other ones we've been on. :sad2::sad1:

Yep - this is exactly what I was going to mention and should have been clearer. We went to the matinee show at 3pm and it was the "heavier set" Genie that my Mom was so impressed with (he was truly awesome). We were watching tv later before going to bed and they were showing the 1st evening performance and that's when we saw that it was clearly a different Genie - much thinner and a completely different voice - they were clearly different CM's. My Mom did put this on her comment card and was specific which show, what time, etc. He got a lot of applause at our show and clearly he is a favorite. They are all so awesome....

Hope all the sickies feel better! My swaying has finally died down now! :rotfl2:

We went to the Aladdin matinee too and liked the genie from our June cruise show much better! DH & I made several comments about how the shows were using "understudies" on this cruise.

Exactly what we experienced on board 24 hour fever and the cough still continues.

I've only gotten sick on non disney(Royal Caribbean), got noro and have never been so sick in my life! Our ship even hit the news circuts, blah. Disney ships are much better with the hand cleaning.
