Good morning! I took the morning off work cause today I need to take Caitlin to her 4th grade meet-the-teacher thingie. Before I took Brent to the train station today, we had breakfast at Bob Evans. That place is new to us and we LOVE it. The day's off to a great start!

Hi T&B! Yep, I want a new baby. I'll be 35 on the 13th of this month though, so I'm thinking my time is about up.

Redshoes: I'm glad you were able to adopt. Your boys are very lucky to have such a nice mommy! Were they babies when you adopted them, or a little older?

Teva: Howdy. You were so silly last night, you had me rolling!

Looks to be a lovely windswept, torrential rain day around here. Nice little tropical storm to round out the week.

Come hell or highwater, maybe both I am leaving work by 3:00 today. I am going to stop at the Target, get me a Starbucks and look at the clearance. Then I will go home, put on my nightgown and take a nap. Whoo Hoo.

Me too, I so need to have a break. I will have to come in to work this weekend, maybe tomorrow depending on the weather, so I can get completely caught up. I hope it's okay tomorrow because I don't want to have to come in here on Sunday. The air conditioning is not on and the carpeting in our building is rank. But I will get more done in a couple hours than I would all day during the week. I need to have everything done before I leave for WDW and I am not working past 5 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It is COLD this morning in the DC area!

Yes it is cold. I am an attorney. I live in Maryland but am not admitted to the bar in Maryland (and have no desire to be) so I am looking for work in the Federal government. It is not easy. There are hundreds of applications for each job posting.

But...on the bright side, we are taking a trip up to NY for the weekend. Too bad the weather sucks. We had plans to do the RenFest up there on Sunday.

punkin, sorry about the job. Did you find out for sure? I know you thought they were moving fast, but maybe they put it on hold.

I had an emotional morning. Do you ever have happy things set you off when you least expect it? My sister called to tell me that her daughter had her latest baby (they have a baseball team of children). The latest is a baby boy who was named after my dad (my niece's grandpa), who died over 18 years ago. The baby's first and middle name is my dad's first and last name. The closest namesake is my oldest son, who has a variation of his name for his middle name (my son's middle name is Royce and my dad's name was Roy) and all my kids have my maiden name as a second middle name. I kind of feel for the new baby growing up with the name of Roy, but I was also so touched that I started crying when I heard. Grief is such a strange thing--how can it still hurt so many years later?

Merle, I hope things calm down at work soon. You really need this trip. I forgot--are you going alone or with family?

I'm here but just barely. Ernesto is barrelling through and I think they are wrong, it's still a hurricane!!! So I'm spending my anniversary locked in the house with Dh. Oh boy!

T&C - your post about your Dad got me all teary eyed - we lost my Dad just over a year ago, and I still lose it at unexpected times for unexpected reasons - last week I burst into tears when I saw his favorite candy at the store - I can be such an idiot.
And for those of you yearning for another child - I rent out my teen DD - free of charge! Best cure in the world for wanting another baby.JMHO.

T&B, how sweet about your Dad's name. My DDs are named after my grandmother and mother. One of the names is VERY old fashioned but everyone likes it because it's so unusual. My DD7's name sounds like one of those newfangles "La something" names, but it's my mother's name and I love it.

About the job, I heard from the woman who recomended me for an interview that they invited 2 people for a call back, but not not me. Of course, no one bothered to let me know officially.

I forgot one thing. I heard from my nephew and he just moved from Utah where he and his wife were living (they just got married last winter) and going to school at BYU to South Carolina where he's now going to grad school at Clemson (he's a smart kid). Anyway, they are planning on coming to my son's Bar Mitzvah. Add to more to the list. My house is going to be crawling with people--my family doesn't believe in hotels. I wouldn't have it any other way and I'm going to be so glad to see Patrick--he's my favorite, if truth be told. This Bar Mitzvah is going to be overrun with non-Jewish relatives. Will be a wild time and I have really started to tell people to bring their sleeping bags. My mind is jumping from where am I going to sleep people to what am I going to feed them. And we still haven't ordered the invitations--that's tomorrows chore, but we did decide on which one and will probably order them over the internet.

I need some of that motivation that you all have. I have a ton of crap to do before Tuesday and I am sitting here drinking coffee and watching Spongebob.

Good Morning All!

The weekend plans include a Soccer game tomorrow- hopefully we'll get some shots on our own goal, my Mom wants me to come with her to just look at some puppies (I told her theres no way that she is just looking) and hopefully finish the rest of the laundry . I'm almost there, I've even done the clothes that I'm afraid to wash. You know the ones that have a red stripe, a white stripe, and you just don't know what color to mix them with. Wow, my life is exciting!

T&B- I understand completly about still missing someone even after so much time has past. Breckin is named after my Mom's Dad- My favorite Grandpa (shh, don't tell my Dad's Dad) and he past away seven years ago this June. I don't mourn that he is gone, but I mourn the fact that I never got to see him interact with my sons. I know they would have loved him and he would have loved them too and I just wish that I could see a little of that relationship. Every once in awhile the sadness hits me, I still miss him after all this time.
Merle- Your plans sound perfect. I strolled through Target's clearance yesterday, some great deals to be had.
Shug- Happy Anniversary.
punkin- I'm sorry that you didnt get the job. I know that you were very excitied about the opportunity. What kind of law do you practice?
BB- How are your cute girls doing?
iamsorry- Are you a big Winter fan? I HATE the cold and I'm a total baby about the snow and ice- once I get cold I never warm back up until the thaw.
Miss Jasmine- AK sounds like a ton of fun. Have you rode the new ride. My DH is begging to go for that ride and that ride only.
Briar- How are you doing? I'm nervous for you, so I just keep asking you how your doing cause I know how I would be doing and well there's not enough duct tape and bouncy walls.
Tricia- How many children do you have? Girls, boys, a mix?
