And I am sure he Thanks you for it ;)

Again Thank you everyone for the thoughts, well wishes, prayers, pixie dust.....I and Charlie really appreicate it.

I just got home from a visit with Charlie.
I live just a few blocks from the vet hospital so I was able to stop in & say "good night" to Charlie.
He is awake but is still pretty out of it since he is on pain medicine.
Although I wish he was home now, it probably is a good thing he is staying over night. He needs his rest & sleep & I am sure my 4 year old son & my other 5 year old cat won't let poor Charlie be!

Good news is the vet said I can pick him up at 11:00 tomorrow morning!! :teeth:

Thank you again!
I will be posting when I hear the results!
Please keep your fingers crossed it isn't horrible news

Sounds like some good news there, Kris. Hope little Charlie mends well and back to himself real soon.

The vet called me today with Charlie's biopsy results.
I was on pins & needles all day waiting too!!

Anyway, the vet gave me GREAT NEWS! First thing she said is Charlie does NOT have cancer!!! :cool1:

Then she also went on to say he doesn't have a fatty liver or any kind of infection in his liver.
The biopsy actually showed his liver to be normal!!

So why are his liver enzmyes up??? The vet really can not say. She said it could be Charlie is just one of those out of the norm cats & have higher then normal liver enzmyes or it could be because of his thyriod.
He has overactive thyriod which the vet said can raise the liver enzymes, but now that his thyriod levels are back down to normal usually a cat's liver enzymes go back to normal also.
Charlie's did not. That is why the vet was doing all these other blood test & each blood test showed that something could be wrong with his liver. That is why the biopsy was done.

Anyway, they are just going to monitor his thyriod levels & keep an eye on his liver enzymes but the vet really said the biopsy looked GREAT!!!!!! :teeth:

I can not tell you how happy I am

I just want to Thank all of you who took the time and wrote me, letting me know you were thinking of Charlie.
THANK YOU! :cat:

Wonderful news!!
I do understand about pets, they are just like our children or a family member, they ARE family.

I am a proud owner of 3 cats
:D

I'm sitting here like an idiot in tears...

I'm also sitting with 3 of my 4 cats!

I know how hard it was to wait for the news and it was worth waiting for!

I know they will find out the problem but at least you know it's not the dreaded "C" word.

Happy day!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I'm so glad for you. Pets become such a part of the family that people without pets cannot understand.

When my kitty got sick (first time in 14 years) we took him in and it was a ruptured anal gland and cost $400 to fix. Whether or not to spend the money was not even an option. (I cried and cried when he got so sick because all I could think of was cancer when we still didn't know what it was) We'd spend our last penny to save him. My grandfather had a fit though and thought it was a complete waste of money on an old cat. He made it very clear he would be very disappointed in us if we spend another penny on him if he ever got sick again. He's not a mean, old man or anything, he just doesn't understand how a pet becomes part of the family.

You guys are just great!
Thank you again.
I still feel like I am on Cloud 9.
I kept thinking that I would get the worst new possible.

Pets are like family!
Some people don't understand that, but all my life I have had pets in it. I could not imagine my life without a pet in it, whether it be a cat or dog.

When they are sick or hurting, I hurt too. I will do what I can to make them better.

Like Heather said, money just isn't an issue when it comes to that.
This biopsy alone costed $350. We are not rich by any means, so that $350 IS a lot of money to us.
My vet is WONDERFUL and has set up a payment plan with me to pay it off. (interest free too!!!!)

I know if some people heard I spent that money on an older cat they would think I am nuts.

All I can say if they just don't understand the love between a pet & it's owner!

Thank you again everyone!!
This is such a great board

Kris
