Hey Guys

Having been lucky to visit Orlando now 5 years running we are trying to put some new things into our itinerary every trip.

This year we are considering KSC and Wet n Wild now our children are getting older.

Anyone been and if so what's your thoughts, good and bad?

Many thanks

Annette :)

Not a fan of Wet & Wild or Aquatica, the Disney Water Parks are much better in my opinion. It's hard to suggest new things without knowing what you've already done, but Discovery Cove is a fantastic experience, Busch Gardens is cool if you're a ride person

Never been to wet n wild only the Disney water parks but can definitely vouch for KSC . We've been a few times and each visit has been slightly different as the boys have grown. I think the 1st time we went they were 5 & 7 and the last time they were probably 12 & 14. It's a really great day out and there's plenty to see and do :thumbsup2

We have been to KSC a few times, bought AP's one year ( they were only about $10 more than a 1 day ticket) Even DW enjoyed it which was a suprise to us all.
Wet n Wild only been in once and we didn't enjoy it.
Busch is my fave park, I can quite easily go there even of not doing the rides, just photograph the animals all day.

We have been to wet n Wild, albeit a long time ago. It is affectionately (or not) known as a concrete jungle. There is no sand or soft ground, like at the Disney water parks. If you were going to try a 'new' water parks, I would suggest Aquatica. It is much better than Wet n Wild, in my opinion.

Not sure about KSC as it's never appealed to me. DH and his parents went a few years ago and had a great day though.

Couldn't have said it better myself, it is a concrete jungle.

I'm a huge fan of waterparks, but wet n'wild wasn't great. Aquatica was way better imo.

I found the layout all over the place and the staff to be quiet rude to us.. The rides are alright, not the greatest remember-able rides and not any that I would go on again.

one word best sums up our WnW experience:

Meh.

The concrete floors hurt your feet after a while as they're the non-slip bobbly variety, the staff are inconsistent and not care-ish at best, and when you're up top of a slide you have the wonderful view of International Drive and all those cars kicking polluting gases up towards you. But that's just me!

Have you tried the beaches, Silver Springs, Gatorland, Disney's Wilderness Preserve...

:goodvibes

Not done WnW for years.

We do however enjoy KSC. It is such an interesting place. We are going back this summer to see the new Atlantis exhibit :thumbsup2

We were lucky enough to see the second from last shuttle launch from KSC and it was the most amazing day.

If you are going to Wet n Wild, you need to turn up with MINIMAL gear as you wouldn't believe the price of lockers!

Another who has not done Wet and Wild but can happily recommend Kennedy Space Centre.
We went their as eldest DD was going space in school. Even the youngest DD at 7 years had a great time and asked if we will head back :)

Yes we have seen a few shuttles take off (none cancelled..phew!) sad they are gone.

We are also very much looking forward to seeing the Atlantis Exhibit this year as well. We did the assembly building tour last time and this time we are doing the launch pad tour.

KSC is a must even if like me you thought it would be boring!:)

We've been to kennedy space centre a couple of times.

I'm not into space but I enjoyed it and found it interesting. Kids should enjoy exploring the exhibits and the imax.

Never done w n wild.

Only ever done WnW one time and that was at least 15 years ago- hated the place and I wouldn't want to go back.

On the other hand, KSC is a good day out and we have done that quite a few times. The Atlantis exhibition looks like it night be worth going to see this summer and hopefully, it will be better than when we did it in New York last year- it certainly looks good on the webcam:thumbsup2

I think me and DH are the only people on the DIS who like Wet n Wild. We've been 3 times. Although I agree its not a pretty park, we think its got the best slides of all the water parks in Orlando and the foods not bad either.

Me and my ex on a previous trip were considering WnW for a day, until we woke up one morning and they’d had a fatal stabbing outside there from a group of school kids :sad1:...needless to say, it put us right off and we went to TL instead!

KSC is a fave, we were heading back there next time, as we haven't been for a while. But I don't think my little girl (who'll be 3), will get much from it. So I reckon that's for a trip even further down the line! :thumbsup2

Thank you to all who have replied.

We are definitely doing KSC so its good to hear those who have been have enjoyed it.

For those that have been to Wet n Wild what's the seating arrangements like?

Do they have any seats near to the Blastaway Beach area?

Annette :)

We love wet n wild and have been there each trip, i know what people mean about concrete jungle but the slides are great, bomb bay is a favorite as is brain wash. sorry can't really comment on seating as never used it as we get there for opening and get finished in about three full on hours. If you do go don't miss out on the ice cream cornet they are the best ever in fact our dd was convinced we only went back to florida because of them:rotfl:

Not the only ones! Although we haven't been there for a while, DH says they have the best slides too.

My boyfriend and I went to WnW whilst it was very windy and rainy so probably didnt get the best experience ie waiting at the top of the slides freezing, lol.
As two young adults we did enjoy it and went on all the slides but wouldn't go again. We prefer the disney water parks as they have more a variety of slides and attractions.
Some of the slides are quite scary in my opinion. One great bonus that the Disney water parks only offers on one slide is that a few of them you can go down on a rubber ring in groups of 4.
