Please tell me if CRT is right for my family...

OK, so I scored a coveted ADR for Cinderella's Royal Table, and now, of course, I'm questioning whether or not we should keep it or cancel.

My daughter will be 18 months old when we travel, and has turned into a BIG eater of good things. Seriously, I made box mac and cheese (she only likes homemade, probably because of the salt) and fish sticks for a quick lunch yesterday, and she didn't eat until I remembered the leftover greenbeans in the fridge--three big helpings, then watermelon for dessert Unlike DS who is 3 and I have to beg him to eat.

Anyway, at buffets she can eat off my plate and have as much as she wants, but at CRT, what is she going to eat? And do they even have a children's menu at dinner? Is it the same as at lunch? I know DS will get a sword, but will they definitely NOT give her a wand b/c she is too young? (She will be MAD.) If I order her a kids meal will I have to pay $35 for it? (We are on the DP, but she isn't because she is too young.)

Would it be ok if we brought food in for her? She loves those Gerber meals with the veggies and pasta. Would they heat it for us, or would we have to run over to the Baby Care Center and do it ourselves?

We had breakfast ADR's CRT last year.

My son was 2 and got everything his own. He got his own sword, his own cup (glass if I recall), his own plate and his own food. He wasn't too interested in the breakfast menu so they brought out extra fruit. Hope you have a great time!

Honestly, at that age, I would choose Crystal palace with the Pooh characters. I don't think that a 18 month old and a three year old would enjoy it as much. I don't know if they would heat up baby food.

We went at the end of May and my youngest son was 15 months old at the time. He did not get a lot out of the princesses but he loved the meal! They gave him buttered pasta (penne) and it was free since he was under 3. He also got the sword and loved that! The girls get princess wands.

We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

EDIT: We did Crystal Palace as well. I think he liked CRT more because it was more natural for him to see and deal with the 'face' characters. The 'fuzzies' scared him and we had to start running interference whenever a 'fuzzy' tried to interact with in. It always caused instant panic and tears.

We did CRT, and it was a one time thing. We prefer seeing Cinderella, Prince Charming, her stepsisters, and stepmother at 1900 Park Faire. It is a buffet style restaurant. Adult meal around 40 dollars and kids meal around 12 dollars.

As PP mentioned, at no additional charge they will give her a plate of buttered pasta and a drink. And a wand! At Akershus, we were offered to order an entree from the child's menu for my under 3 ds and there was no charge. Same characters, but not the castle. And yes, both offer a children's menu which I believe you can find on allears.net or here on wdwinfo.com. Good luck and enjoy!

We did CRT with two of our granddaughters, who were 6 and 8 at the time. They were also "Princess crazy" and attended dressed in their Princess dresses, tiaras, and glass slippers. They loved seeing the princesses. They ate almost nothing. Neither did we-the food was awful.

We are taking our 3 y/o granddaughter to WDW in Feb. We are not doing CRT. This one just isn't all that into Princesses. (She loves Little Einsteins.)

I have no desire to return to CRT but I would go if I had a child who was truly Princess crazy. Otherwise, no.

we took our son when he turned 2 and he got his own plate of food, drink and sword for free. No need to bring baby food.

Being under 2 years old, your daughter would be offered a plate of buttered noodles free of charge. She would of course also be given a wand, and if by some chance your server doesn't bring one, just ask and they'll be sure to bring one over.

As for you DS, children older than 2 have a children's menu, which consists of a lot of kid-friendly foods such as hotdogs, chicken nuggets, etc. I'm fairly sure that he'll also be able to get an ice cream sundae for dessert, but don't hold me to that.

And the general menu- the restaurant just revamped some portion of their menu within the last few weeks, and I think it's pretty good food. You've got about four or five options for lunch and dinner, with the menus varying for each meal.

I looked at allears.net. They have recently updated their menus for CRT, but they only have the adult menu for dinner, while they have both for lunch. That is why I wondered if it was the same for both meals.

Thanks everyone. DD was crazy for the Princesses last October when she was only 9 months old. We thought it would be neat for everyone to experience, but then I got to worrying about what she would eat. She could probably share the chicken strips with her brother, but would probably rather have the Minor Domo. If they just offered that for adults for dinner, I would split it with her...anyway, I think it will be fun regardless. DS is going to wear his Prince Charming costume and DD will be dressed as Cinderella, so at least they will look cute

Just found a more detailed kids menu on wdwinfo...it looks like green beans and carrots come with every kids meal. DS won't touch the healthy stuff most of the time unfortunately, so DD will be set. Thanks all!

Have Fun! My dd was 20 months and had a blast! We doesn't remember it (of course) but DH and I certainly do with all the laughing and smiling...

She turns 6 in September so we are going back again so she can enjoy the dinner and hopefully remember it!

OMG - they are going to look so cute in their costumes when they have their picture taken with Cinderella ( a photo package is included with your dinner) - Now if you can just get them to look at the camara at the same time you may have a Holiday card for the year.
