Hi everyone, as some of you may have noticed I am the new Forum Moderator. :scared1: I took this job as our stickies are in desperate need of updating. What I will probably do is take the best of all of the stickies and start new ones. I will then lock the thread so all new information will appear on the first few pages and the newbies won’t have to search all over for how to …….

I thought I would start by updating the list of DISigners thread. :thumbsup2 I am asking all current DISigners to fill out a questionnaire & I will update the DISigner thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=892887. Below are the questions I want DISIgners to answer for the thread. Would you mind looking them over to see if I forgot something? :worship: Please don’t fill it out until we get a final version. Thanks, Penny

If you would like to be listed in the Current DISigner thread, please answer the following questions
· Name (first name only)
· Dis Name
· You can find my threads here. Links to where your DISigns are located (please limit to 5). Note if it is a closed thread. I know some of you are on your 2nd or 3rd thread because you reached the dreaded 150 pages mark. J
· You can find my photo- hosting site(s) at: You can list your photo bucket, ????? hyperlinks here.
· I do/do not personalize/customize. This is self explanatory. Some of you have your blanks in your photo-hosting site, so you can make mention of that here, or you can add a link to your blanks. I am going to put for myself, I do personalize, however if you want to personalize yourself, my blanks are listed in the column on the left http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd181/Chaos1Cent/?start=0
· To ask for a design please …………….. How do you want people to ask for your DISign? Do you want a private message; do you want them to reference something from your site, from your thread?
· Anything else we should ask for?

If we have people that no longer design, such as Julia & Nicks Mom (her listing currently says send PM) I will note next to their name that they no longer design. If we have a DISigner such as Kari/Rumbly Tumbly, I will note that they no longer design, but their old threads are here (I will post link), however their photo-hosting sites are no longer active. I will also restate, they are no longer DISigning.

Also, I have spent the last week updating clip art sites, font sites, and some of the information from the Design Tips thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=892906
I am going to start a new sticky, with a list of frequently asked questions in the first post and then an index like the one from the disABILITIES forum.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=595713
I am going to take the “How To’s” that are already done (how to make a t-shirt, how to make an autograph book) condense them into one post and include them in this section. (If the person responsible for a thread would like to update it and condense, that would be wonderful :dance3:) So a little later today I will post what I have, ask all of you to look over it to what I have, ask for volunteers to update some sections (such as how to post a image to the boards). Once I get a listing of all the things you guys think should be listed in design tips, I will start the thread.

Anything else you can think of?:confused3

Thanks everyone, Penny:goodvibes:hippie:

Yeah!!! Those sticky's have really been bugging me.

A good possible sticky thread would be the "what do you make" thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2179996
although there are a few posts that could be cleaned up that aren't relevant.

Maybe even the "how to personalize DISigns" thread. Although it is only for those who have MS Word. I know it helps some designers that post blanks with not having to personalize for everyone. Just a thought...

Hi Penny -

Looks Great so far!

The only "other" thing I'd like to see that a point be made about it is :

Please DO NOT ask multiple designers for the SAME EXACT DESIGN! IF someone wants multiple designers to work on something then they should post ONE request for it on the boards - DO NOT go to several designers threads and ask.

AND - Please be patient!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes it takes awhile to get to someone - if you ask a designer - they WILL get to you!!! IF it isn't right away - PLEASE either WAIT, or CANCEL your request with them BEFORE you ask someone else!

I also like what you mentioned the other day - about posting when someone is on a break/vacation.

Oh, and can you post links for "other" things - like for Amy for example - I know she can't post her transfers site - but are we allowed too post it? I mean, I always recommend her and post the link for her site. Just wondering if it could be somehow posted in the sticky that " This is where you can find the BEST transfers" and a link to her? I also know some of the girls have scrapbooking sites, etc....... can those be listed?

If I think of anything else - I'll post. :goodvibes

Again, Congrats on the Mod!!!!!

Wendy

Great Job Penny!

Will the thread about asking multiple designers for the same design still be posted? (from all the designers) If not, please be sure that this information is included in the new stickies as well.

We all know this can be an issue.

Wendy - we posted at the exact same time - great minds think alike!

Wendy - we posted at the exact same time - great minds think alike!

:goodvibes

Also - Quoting Back designs - I know this has been an issue lately - Can you ask that requester not do this AND tell them HOW to not do it!! A lot of people have NO CLUE what that even means!!! (I know this because I've had people ask me what it means and how not to do it!!) :)

I'm not sure how many of us PAY for our photohost - but, I do know that for some this is a REAL issue of space being used up - so................

AND I second Dolly's "HOW TO" thread.............. I think that would help A LOT!!! and should be included!

OHHHHHH - Also, that our designs are FREE and they cannot be SOLD or used for profit in ANY way whatsoever!!!!

Here are a few "how to's" that you mentioned you might need help with:

HOW TO POST PICTURES TO THE BOARDS

You can not post pictures directly to a post. Here is what you can do to show off your great DISigns, t-shirts and/or items that you made:

• Get a free photobucket account at www.photobucket.com.
• Then upload your pictures to there.
• Once they are uploaded click on the "share" button just above the picture.
• Then click on the "get link code" button.
• Finally, click once on the IMG code then right click to copy and paste it into this thread.
• Then your pictures will show up when you want to post them.

Thanks for taking time to do this! It is nice for DISigners to see their work being used and it helps others to get ideas for things to make for their trip.

HOW TO SAVE A PICTURE TO YOUR COMPUTER FROM PHOTOBUCKET:

• The first image that you see in photobucket is the thumbnail image. If you save the thumbnail image, it will be extremely small and will look pixilated when you try to increase the size to use it to make your Disney items. Instead, you will have to click on the thumbnail image to open up a second larger version.
• The second image is still not large enough. If you waive your mouse over the image...some gray buttons will appear at the top of the picture. Click on the button on the far left that says "full size" or "high resolution".
• Then the image should open up for a third time. This image is the highest resolution image and is the one that you will want to save to your "pictures".

HOW TO DETERMINE A GOOD SIZE FOR TRANSFER IMAGES FOR T-SHIRTS

Generally, you can use the full 8.5x11 transfer sheet for all adult size t-shirts. For toddler and the smaller youth sizes you can use half a sheet of transfer paper. For the larger youth sizes you will use two-thirds of the transfer sheet.

Here is a more precise way to determine the size image you may want:
First, find a t-shirt that you already own in the size that you are making with a similar shaped image. Then measure the image size on the t-shirt, and use the measurements as a starting point for sizing your image to use on the transfer paper. Run a trial print on a regular sheet of paper with this size by doing a "fast draft" and "black and white" print so that it doesn't waste a bunch of ink. Then trim out the design and lay on the shirt you will transfer the image to. If you are happy...print the image on transfer paper and transfer it to a shirt. If you aren't happy with the size make it smaller or bigger and run another trial print.

You can also use the measurement from the top of the neck to the top of the image on a t-shirt that you already own to get measurements to help with where to place the image on your shirt.

That should help you to find the right size and placement for your transfer design.

Seriously, thanks for taking this on. If you need any help, please let me know.

So far it looks like you, Wendy and Amy have covered just about everything. How would you like us to send you the answers to the questions..... PM or on this thread?

Congrats on the Moderator Penny...it will be so great to see the info condensed and easy to access!! :thumbsup2 Thanks for taking this on for all of us!:lovestruc

Yeah!!! Those sticky's have really been bugging me. Me too, can't wait

A good possible sticky thread would be the "what do you make" thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2179996
although there are a few posts that could be cleaned up that aren't relevant. If you are referring to what you make, that will be in your profile (see top, waiting for feedback to see if I missed anything before posting later today). If you are talking about what do people make, I (or another volunteer :rolleyes1) could do that & I would add it as a post to the FAQ postings.

Maybe even the "how to personalize DISigns" thread. Although it is only for those who have MS Word. I know it helps some designers that post blanks with not having to personalize for everyone. Just a thought...
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2286193
Thanks for posting that link. That's a great one and fits into one of the posts that I have. I am going to copy it and paste it into the appropriate spot and then maybe you could clean it up/proof it?

Thanks so much. :goodvibes

The first point was already in Post 2 (not posted yet, posting this afternoon). I added the last paragraph.
I also like what you mentioned the other day - about posting when someone is on a break/vacation.

Oh, and can you post links for "other" things - like for Amy for example - I know she can't post her transfers site - but are we allowed too post it? No, I checked with the Board Moderators, if I see the link, I need to delete it. Sorry, I use Amy's transfers also. I did get approval to post a reference to her shirts. I mean, I always recommend her and post the link for her site. Just wondering if it could be somehow posted in the sticky that " This is where you can find the BEST transfers" and a link to her? I also know some of the girls have scrapbooking sites, etc....... can those be listed? Yes, if they don't sell anything. If they sell something I can't link to their site.

If I think of anything else - I'll post. :goodvibes

Again, Congrats on the Mod!!!!! Thanks, Penny

I thought about this, but I think that request is designer specific. I pay for my site, so it is easier for me when they do that. Maybe people can note that in the section of the description that says
· To ask for a design please …………….. How do you want people to ask for your DISign? Do you want a private message; do you want them to reference something from your site, from your thread?

Just added it in bolded, big font. :thumbsup2

Since there don't seem to be any changes, I will start a new thread and ask people to post there. I will wait another hour to see if people want another question added.:laundy: Penny:hippie:

Thanks everyone for the posts. This is an on-going project.
One more thing, I think I can delete posts. If some of you who run out of band width want me to delete the mulitple pictures, I can go through and do that next weekend? Penny

Natalie - forgot to mention, Love my figment. :goodvibes

I'm always late to the party LOL. Everything I was thinking was already mentioned so I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking this on.
I know you probably have enough helping hands, but if you ever need anything I'm more than happy to help. :goodvibes

Thanks, I am getting ready to post the final for DISIgners to sign up on. Then I will post the threads for the FAQ/Tips thread. :goodvibes

The "What do you make thread" is a thread where all different people posted what they make when they go to Disney. It isn't just my stuff. I like it because it shows pictures and gives ideas for more than just t-shirts of what different people make.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2179996

Even if you don't use this one a thread that has all of the different things that are possible to make because of the Creative Boards would make a great sticky.
