Please put a stop to the backseat moderating...

I really don't post many threads like this, but I think it's time I say this. Can we please put a stop to all the backseat moderating?? Like when someone has already posted something or they put it in the wrong forum. Please, don't say anything! Let a moderator handle it, it is their job. Since a regular member cant move anything on their own, saying something like that serves no purpose and most times it was an accident.

Thank you for this! That happened to me once on here, and I got so irritated. I was good about it and bit my tongue, but I agree whole-heartedly.

It's unnecessary to hear the same thing twice, once by a moderator and once by a backseat moderator.

I agree, I did a search for something and I couldn't find it anywhere. When I posted the question people said "It's already been posted on here", I just got so frustrated after an hour of looking at 100's of threads and pages where was this question that had been posted before.

I really haven't noticed it, on another forum I frequent, people are very strict and you must make sure that there isn't another post like it... I love the DIS, we're so free, or something like that, lol.

Sorry to say I agree the new search host does not return happy results for me. I looked an hour for the Nascar thread earlier in the week. very hard to find things, I like multiple searchs in short time but it is less effective.

Not to hi-jack the thread least someone call me on it. I really don't feel it is a huge problem. some times people could be more considerate but other boards are less forgiving. Usually people are just trying to help.

This drives me crazy! As Ranch said the other site is infected. I actually think it's a game with some people, how often they can reprimand people.

I think there is nothing worse to snuff out someone spirit when they post something to try to help everyone and are told they should not have posted because someone got there first. I have seen debates on who posted first as if it really matters.

Yes, yes. We all know the fansite is infected and I must say it is terrible over there. We aren't the fansite so all of these "I already posted this!!!111!!!11!!" and "Wrong Forum!!!11!!11!" posts need to stop. People are just trying to help and most times it was a complete accident.

I liked it best when it was all one forum and not broken down in to all the ones it is now. I have 4 times amount of stuff to read now.
