I need some serious help with this situation. If I go throught "the books" one more time trying to decide what to do I am going to scream. LOL Here is the problem/situation.

We are staying at Wilderness Lodge. On Monday October 31st we will be touring Animal Kingdom. We have tickets to go to MNSSHP at 7. We need to try and find a sit down meal for a late lunch (sometime between 1:30 and 3:00). What restaurant would work out? The 2 restaurants at AKL look like they do not do lunch. We are doing WC at WL a different night. And, we do not like the rain forest cafe. Soooo, where should/could we eat??? :confused3 :confused3 We have no idea how everything is set up in Disney so we do not know if we should be going to a restaurant at another resort or finding some place in another park. :confused3 We have two boys (2 & 5) so we would need to be back to the hotel in time for them to change into costumes. We wanted to be able to take our time getting ready (anyone with children knows what it is like trying to rush a 2 year old). :crazy2: HELP ME PLEASE!! I would be so grateful if someone could give a suggestion that would work. :worship:

Thanks!!

The 3 restaurants at AK do lunch, and the Mara at AKL has a counter service type set up that you can do.

Try this: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_marald.htm

Or this for AK: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_tus.htm

As you can tell, these are menus, and if you think that there is too much food to digest before MNSSHP- SPLIT the plates!

If you're determined to do sit down, think about booking something in MK for before the party.

HTH!!

Do you want to spend the hole day at AK?? You could go have lunch at MK before the party, like at Crystal Palace, or Liberty Tree Tavern. Or if these two are full, you could try Chef Mickey's at Contempory Resort only a few minutes from MK and a nice monorail ride!!!

Good Luck!! :goodvibes

Hi it's me again. Thank you all soooo much for your help. I know have a few more questions. Is it a pain to get from AK to MK? Does it take a long time? Also, I am going to go look it up once I post this but what type of food is at Tusker House? I have not read anything about that one. Let me go look in my trusty "books." LOL Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

my suggestion would be to have a big "brunch" at donalds earlier in your AK day... and then just grab something on the run between AK/WL/MK instead... we always try to get the last breakfast seating... we found the food is just as fresh as earlier in the morning but the character interaction is significantly better because they are not as busy or rushed...

Another vote for Tusker House. I haven't eaten there myself yet (hoping to this year) but the menu and many reviews I've seen indicate it once of the best counter service places and may be your simplest choice. There are other more complicated alternatives, but you need to get your boys back to WL for not only costumes but also a nap if they're going to make it past 8:00 at MNSSHP.

I'm a mother of a 2 and 4 year old, so I feel your pain. I also don't like Rainforest Cafe. If you're not stuck on a table service meal at AKL, I would highly recommend Tusker House or Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom. Both meals were filling and very good.

We stayed at WL when we went to MNSSHP in 2003. I had a ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern, but we ended up cancelling it because our 10 month old and 2 year old actually napped and we got behind schedule. SInce it was important to us to get to MNSSHP when it started because we knew we couldn't stay too late, I ended up going down to Roaring Forks to pick up some take out meals and we ate in the room, then got dressed and went to MNSSHP. I'll just throw that option out to you in case your little ones crash.

You can also take a bus from AK to the Ticketing and Transportation Center and hop on the monorail to the Kona Cafe at the Poly. They have really good food IMHO. I don't know if Chef Mickey's is open for lunch. But then you will have to take the monorail to MK and ride the boat back to MK. Speakinga s a mother of little ones, I would go with the simplest plan, like eating in AK or at WL.

The second hyperlink in my first post will give you the menu for Tusker House.
We really enjoy it- and the atmosphere is very relaxing too!

To get to MK from AK, just follow the bus signs when you go out the entrance. There might be one stop at AKL, then it's clear sailing to MK.

Probably no more than 45 min at the most.

HTH!
