Please pass the Prozac...............

time for some not so happy news...............Last thursday we found out the D.Jay and his employer would be parting ways.............that's my nice way of saying he no longer has a job.
My first thought was there goes the trip, but he wouldn't even hear about it being cancled. For one thing we'd loose our airfare and deposit, which is quite a chunk of change. He does have a few job prospects and the option of going back to his former employer, but it's with a huge paycut.

Needless to say, I've been a little bummed. I know we'll be ok but it's kinda scary at the same time.

Aww. I'm so sorry about that. I feel you, we have been there before. Actually we will probably be there again in the summer sometime. My DH is in training and classes for a new job- which means he is going to quit his ok job that is stable to start a new career.. which is scary.. because who really knows all all that with work out. But he wants to do it and I want him to be happy. It will be ok though, he has experience and knowledge.. so keep your chin up!

Don't worry you guys will be fine. Hang in there. Try not to let it get to you, enjoy your vacation. Reset your minds. Come back fresh.

Oh, Cherie, I am so sorry! I hope D.Jay finds an absolutely fantastic job very quickly! :grouphug:

Hi Cherie... boy it has been a really rought week for you guys huh??

I know that something great is around the bend for DJay, I hope he gets around that corner quickly...so you don't need to worry!!

Enjoy your trip...relaxing is a good way to get your mind on track to come up with unexpected options when you get back home!!

I know things will be ok. I'm just a worrier. Heck I'm good at worring when there's nothing to worry about. So given something like this.................I could drive myself and everyone else insane. :sad2:

I will be praying for you. It is a tough situation to be in but know that the Lord will always provide.

Oh Cherie! I'm so, so sorry about your DH's job! That's terrible! I'll be thinking of and praying for you and your family!

Hello all:

I know I haven't posted during this PTR, but feel it necessary to make a few comments at this time. I am greatful that Cherie has all the support from each and every one of you. When I lost my job, I was trying to figure out how to tell Cherie. The first thing that came to my mind was "WE WILL NOT CANCEL THE TRIP. I don't care what it takes." The next thing that came to my mind was "OH NO! What next." Seeing all the support all of you have given is special and means alot to me and my family. I am in the process of finding more work. I am optomistic that the man upstairs has a better plan for me and my family.

My biggest goal at this point, other than finding a new CAREER is having a good time with my family at pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: Disney World.pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

My Mother is so EXCITED about the trip. :cool1: She talks about one aspect or another about DW every day and gets more and more like a little child waiting for the "big guy" on Christmas day. The kids are updating the countdown calendar every day. My Mom checks it every day.

There are 11 days left until we leave!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: I seem to remember something someone told me when I was younger: Bad things may happen in our lives, but we must always look for the positive and uplifting things that come our way. You tell me, isn't a GREAT vacation at DW (all paid for and planned out) an uplifting and positive thing?

Thanks again for all your love, support, and prayers.:wave2:

You're so sweet D.Jay. :goodvibes (You've got a good man there Cherie. :thumbsup2 ) Having a positive attitude is so important in life. I hope something comes your way very soon and I hope you all enjoy your time at Disney World. pixiedust:

WOW! DJ you have a great attitude. My husband lost his job years ago. I was so upset. Well he ended out with an even better company making more than he ever could have dreamed with the other company. We would never have the house we have if he was still with the previous company. Sometimes God has to take something away from us to give us something better. I have been lifting up you and your family in my prayers. I know we have never met but I feel like yall are friends.

Everything happens for a reason. We may not know what that reason is right away, but usually everything works out better when everything smoothes out. pixiedust:

Okay, first things first:

I totally sympathize with the lack of Target stores- I have one near me now (in Nashville of course) but I lived for nearly a decade in southern Oregon where the nearest Wal Mart was 2 1/2 hours away, and the nearest Target was 3 1/2. I totally feel your pain!

Next, Cherie, I hope you're recovering from your piddle pad accident!

And last, but nowhere near least, DJ, you definitely have an enviable attitude. It's easy to tell other people to be positive and upbeat when they're in crisis and our own lives are stable but for you to be in the proverbial eye of the storm and see things so clearly is fantastic. I am SURE you will find what you need in your new career field and be all the better for it. (You know the old saying about life is what happens when you're making other plans... looks like your plans were bumped up a bit!) My own DH changed career paths just over a year ago- went back to school in his 30's with all the young whipper snappers, and he's been so happy he did. Happy is the key word... before he just always had a job, never felt driven. Now he's driven AND happy. What more could a gal ask for?!)

Good luck to you, DJ, and get better, Cherie!

I feel the same way.

Awww, DJay you really do have such a wonderful attitude! :thumbsup2 I also believe as many on here do, that something better is meant for you. I'm so glad that you guys will get to spend an awesome vacation at Disney World. You will be able to go home re-charged and ready!!

We can't wait to meet you guys. :wave2:

I know, I am a very lucky wife!:goodvibes D.Jay does have a great attitude. Nothing gets him down for long! It's a good thing because I worry enough for the both of us.:sad2:
I'm so glad I have all of you to cheer me up and help me take my mind off of "things"! We only have 9 days till we leave! I'm so excited!:hyper:

such a great attitude to have, d.jay! :thumbsup2 i'm sure there's a reason for all this and you'll look back in a year and know what it was.

Cherie and Jay - Sorry about the news of your job. My DH is a carpenter and is worried that after March there will be nothing for him so I understand. I know it's easy for me to say try not to think about it while at Disney but I hope you both do. :flower3:
