Sorry, this is long, I know:

I bid last night on a "Bid per night" for the Radisson Parkway Resort. I got it for $36 plus the $32 taxes + $68. I was very excited as we planned the go the last week in Jan./first week Feb. When my husband got home from work last night, he told me that my MIL is going to have surgery that Monday. Now, there is no way we can go. (Apparantly he found out a few days ago, but forgot to tell me  ) So, now I need to let them know what dates we need in about 60 hours.

After the 4th there is a $50/night surcharge for the room, so we are absolutely not going to go after. In addition, there is a 2 night minimum, which would be $136. On their email, it says that if I don't book, I can be charged a $95 fee. The other option would be to list this on Ebay for a very short auction and require Paypal and then put the ressie in their names (knowing that I would get much less than the $136). Is this even allowed?

So....any advice? I'm thinking an apology to Skyauction and $95 sounds like the least stressful option. I hate to lose the money and I'm a little nervous about being blackballed by them.

Any quick help is very appreciated!

explain to skyauction about your problem - they have been know to do a full refund - but that is generally because they can't get you what you wanted.

RCI is now looking at ebay, this site and tug - to make sure that their exchanges are not listed - I don't know how much they care about the hotels.

Thank you, I think that's the path I'll take. Ebaying it seems risky and stressful to me anyway. Thanks again! Kellam

before i knoew how they worked i bid on 8 villas luckily i was out bid on 6 and i won two, i sent them an email and asked them to cancel the other and they did with no problem

Wow, that's great. It would be so wonderful not to be out the $95. Was there any special way that you asked? I figured just honesty and an apology. Anything else?

Thanks!

Do you have anymore information on this? Isn't Skyauction mainly RCI, will this be the end of the great Skyauction deals (of course, as soon as I discover it!). I can log onto tug2 BB if there is some info there, just not sure where to look. Thanks.
