She wasn't charged with the money she took from her grandparents. The reason they were able to charge her with the money she'd stolen from Amy was because Amy said she wanted to press charges and agreed to testify against Casey. They then got video of Casey trying to cash those checks at, Target, Windixie (SP?) etc and the employees also stated they'd testify.

In addition to the almost $700 in various checks, I believe there was also an outstanding check made out to AT&T for over $500 for a new cell phone. It must have been the Black Jack that Casey spoke about. That $500 and something isn't included when you hear the $700 figure. Right before going on vacation, Amy also lost $400. $400 that she had put back for her spending money while on vacation. Casey told her she'd been sleep walking and probably put the money somewhere in her sleep. At the time Amy stated that she had no reason to think Casey would steal from her, so she just figured some day the money would turn up. That's another $400 she stole from her, bringing the total to over, $1600 I believe. Of course, the $400 was cash and Amy can't prove it.

We now know she stole from her grandparents and her own mother. So, how much money did Casey go thru?

I think Casey threw that baby in the back of her trunk after the huge fight with her parents. She probably went out partying, blacked out and the baby died in the trunk.

Meanwhile, protesters who appeared after Casey Anthony returned to her Orange County home said they refuse to leave while the woman's daughter, Caylee, 3, remains missing.

A life-sized baby doll held by one of the men in the crowd had a sign that read, "Hi, I'm Caylee. Have you seen my mommy?"

"Tell the truth," Greg May said as he held the doll. "Tell the truth. The truth will set you free. I don't see how those people sleep at night."

On Friday, several fights and acts of violence erupted outside the home.

Officers responded to the Anthony family's Orange County home after people began to rip signs and throw punches at each other. A man was seen being struck in the face by another man outside the Anthony home.

"You are all big and bad to kill a baby, but you can't come out and face us," a protester yelled when police arrived.

"You people hold signs that mean nothing, and you know nothing about," another person in the crowd yelled.

Several neighbors said they are fed up with the chaos the case has brought to their neighborhood.

"We have been putting up with this for six weeks," a neighbor said. "My kid can't play outside, and we can't leave the house without people trying to run us over."

Some people said they refuse to leave the Anthony house or neighborhood until Casey Anthony is returned to jail.

"We are going to be here every night until she comes out (with the truth)," protester James Harris said.

I am so over this case. Yes, I am so very sad at the loss of Caylee, but I hate hearing about this case non-stop. It has brought every wacko in this part of the country to Orlando. People are actually driving from other locations just to take pictures of the Anthony home. When news people ask these folks why they are there, they say that they don't know or they just want to see what's going on. Half of the protesters are teenagers who are just having a heck of a good time yelling disgusting things. I feel so bad for the people living in that neighborhood. If I were the Anthony's, I'd have those people arrested for harassment. Just because their daughter is involved in this case does not give people the right to harass the Anthonys in their own home. Today, George Anthony got into an altercation with a protester in front of his home. He had a hammer in his hand because he was pounding stakes into his yard again to put up more tape. Fortunately, Lee came out and took the hammer from his dad and made him go inside. If this continues, eventually, something terrible is going to happen. If it does, I won't feel sorry for the protester.

I know that people here wouldn't like it, but I wish the news people would stop covering the case. It can't make things easier for the police. All the media coverage is not accomplishing anything.

As for all the people so up in arms over this, what about Trenton Ducket? He's never been found. Just because his mom is dead, does that mean he doesn't deserve the same attention that Caylee is getting? What about all the other kids that have gone missing in the past couple of months? Why aren't we seeing anything about them? It's because Casey is strange and we don't understand any of this, but it just doesn't seem right to me.

IMO those people doing the things to the Anthony's are no better than the Anthony's themselves. They are just as twisted really. I feel so bad for the Anthony's neighbors, having all those nuts hanging outside their homes all the time. They really are doing nothing by being there, except make idiots out of themselves! It is a shame the police can't keep them out of there.

First off, I am totally with you where the protesters are concerned. It's nothing short of repulsive, IMO. If they want to do something worthwhile, they should go join EquuSearch as it's much more productive.

Having said that, Trenton Duckett had enormous coverage when he was reported missing. But, when mom decided to kill herself, all roads to recovering the body were gone with the exception that someone would happen across his remains by happenstance.

As for the coverage hampering the investigation, why do you think LE leaked last Friday that something would break during the Nancy Grace show? They then went out and arrested Casey on other charges with cameras rolling. LE used the media, so to say it accomplishes nothing, well, LE certainly disagrees with that conclusion.

In regards to this case getting national exposure, I agree. So many cases out there deserve the same. Unfortunately, thousands of people go missing everyday of the week in this country. All of course are worth the media's attention, but it's hardly feasible to cover them all.

I'm sort of over it too now. It's consumed too much of my time following this case and it's just frustrating so I need to stop looking for updates. I do feel bad for George and Cindy to the extent that they deserve some privacy. The police should be arresting all that are hanging out there for stalking and harrassment.

I can't believe it. Two of the protesters who were on the Anthony's property today have filed charges against George Anthony because he shoved them. He was trying to put stakes in his yard to keep people off. The protestors got in his face yelling things about his daughter and he shoved them back. Now, they have filed charges against him. I am so disgusted with these people.

Finally, the sheriff's department has started handing out tickets to people honking outside the Anthony home and parking illegally. They need to do more than that.

While I don't agree with the way the Anthonys have handled this whole thing, I hate the way the public is treating them.

However, they said they would resume searching if Casey cooperates.

I'm torn on the Anthony's. I don't like the protesters but at the same time STAY IN THE HOUSE! Quit going out in front of them, quit confronting them, quit wielding hammers and getting into shouting matches. Just STOP.

If you need to go outside, you have a back yard. Yes it stinks to be 'jailed' in your own home but you chose to bail Casey out and have her there.

Stop putting on a 'show.' No show, no audience. I really think the protesters would die down, if the Anthony's ignored their presence.

Call the police and let them deal with it rather that going out there yourself making a spectacle.

Couldn't have said it better myself! action...reaction....when will it end? I do agree protesters would be more helpful JOINING the search...as opposed to just standing there shouting.

I totally agree with you. G & C don't realize they put themselves in danger every time they go outside. Do they think since there are a gazillion cameras on them, that nothing will happen? That crowd is like a ticking time bomb. Can anyone else feel that?

I think the protesters need protesters. How about signs that read "Leave your kids at home, you aren't much better than the Anthony's bringing them into this dangerous environment. Unfit parents!"

I would be terrified to step out their front door, yet, like RadioNate's post above states, G & C continue to egg on the crowds. I just don't get it. It's almost as if the worst thing that could happen to the Anthony's (short of finding Caylee) is that the media wouldn't pay any attention to them anymore.

I have decided today, like Feralpeg, not to spend so much time on this case. Unless Tim has found something - there was mild speculation on websleuths that something may have been found, but they can't get to it due to water, I need to step back, or at least I will try very hard.

I wish this whole thing would just come to an end. We all need closure. Caylee needs a proper burial. Tim's words about Caylee not being where she wants to be, nearly melted my heart. What an amazing person he is. Thankfully Caylee has a team of devoted searchers who have done their very best.

I too think that the arguement with the parents was the catalyst in all this. I think Casey got mad and took off with Caylee. I think she took Caylee with her to punish the grandparents. George and Cindy are nuts and irritating but it looks like they provided for their grandchild very well. I am not sure if I am explaining myself very well but I think Casey was mad at her parents and mad that her gravy train was dried up. Cindy was very mad about some money and had some kind of bank statements and I think she was threatening to go to the authorities and that's when Casey left with Caylee and it got ugly from there.
No more money from Cindy, no more free babysitting from grandparents. No where to live other then the car or crashing at people's places. No source of income. I still think drugs play a role in this somehow.
Casey was probably desperate at this point and very frustrated. To her friends she kept up appearances and partied while the friends thought Caylee was with the mysterious sitter. I think the child was neglected and left in the car. I waffle between Caylee dying of neglect and dying as the result of something more sinister. A frustrated young mother that doesn't have the support system anymore who wants to be out partying all night long????

I too, agree that the argument was the catalyst in what happened. I tend to lean towards her killing Caylee on purpose though for revenge and not by accident. We watched 20/20 a few nights back about this and it broke my heart to see videos of Caylee in her first 3 years, with her mom in pictures with her and on video and seeming to really love her. I think Casey has a very sinister side to her which enabled her to shut off that love and what is right. I don't think that she could be out partying while Caylee had been "missing" and also not report it for a month if it were an accident. Its hard to accept a mother could do that to her child - but I cannot accept that whatever has happened to that little girl was a mere accident.

New info/speculation on the 5 pm WFTV news.

They are reporting that the fight was over the money that Casey stole from her Grandparents.

They are also reporting that Cindy meet with a family therepist who suggested they kick Casey out. The therpist also suggested that Cindy fight for custody of Caylee. The 'source' was said to be an Anthony family member. I doubt it was Cindy, George or Lee.

But it looks like our speculation about the events that night and why Casey left with Caylee is correct.

Anyway, I was thinking about this on my ride home stuck in traffic. Is it possible Casey backed the car into the garage and borrowed the shovel to break into the shed and steal the gas cans with no one seeing? I'm not sure of the timeline of the events with the gas cans/shovel though so I wasn't sure if that was even plausible.
