I hope if this is true and Caylee is gone (which I feel she is but still want to remain hopeful :sad1: ) I pray it was indeed an accident :sad1: :guilty:
As with too many of these horrible cases - we may never know the truth - I believe her mother does and she will have to live with that.

When accidents happen, people feel guilty. I just don't see that with the mother. :confused3

I also wonder if George has an "in" in the department since he used to be a cop and someone is telling him the information they have (DNA results, etc) so now he is speaking up because he thinks they are getting close to naming his daughter as a murder suspect.

I agree. And now, with today's announcement, I have a sick feeling, and I hope I'm wrong, that this connection of his may cause the sheriff's department to now look at the "accidental" angle only, and I'm not buying it. I sincerely hope this doesn't turn out to be another Aruba because of George's connection.

Sorry, but I feel Casey is capable of murder. I don't think Caylee's disappearance/death was an accident. Casey is a socio-path. Those types think nothing of killing. I hope the child is alive, I pray she is, but I am 99.99999% or mor, sure she is not.

Or could they be using this angle to play Casey?

As much as I'd like to believe that, I have a bad feeling that the police are as clueless as we are. Grasping at straws so to speak, to charge her w/misc. things (credit card fraud on her parents card) to keep her in jail longer. Soon they will be out of things to charge her with and I'm afraid she's going to go free.

I hope I'm wrong.

I wonder if we will *ever* really know what is going on. :guilty:

Sadly, I have to agree that we might not ever find out what really happened.

That thought occurred to me too, it seems like they are all over the place sometimes (with their charges and statements).

However as far as I can see, the police have been extremely focused when it comes to the main issue. Every trail seems to lead back to mom, and they have been focusing in on Caylee's mom.:guilty:

I read some info on another board that I thought had interesting observations from some Texas Cold Case detectives (two veteran Texas homicide legends, Detective Roger Wedgeworth and his partner Detective Harry Fikaris) and their take on this case and here is part of what they had to say:

Q: What does Casey Anthony's behavior suggest to you?

A: Casey Anthony’s completely cold, matter-of-way she discusses her missing baby girl is a disturbing clue not just to any homicide detective but to any normal person. In our experience, this can only mean two things. She is extremely mentally ill, which we do not believe is the case, or she is responsible for what happened to her daughter.

We’ve interviewed parents who killed their kids, and we’ve interviewed parents whose kids were actually kidnapped. There is a huge difference. The killer parents speak cold, calmly, matter-of-factly and are worried more about themselves more than their children. That fits Casey. The only time we've seen her cry is for herself at her bond hearing. If killer parents do appear upset, you can tell the emotions are not sincere, but in this case Casey isn’t even faking concern. Her hateful phone calls from jail with friends and family highlight her selfishness. She never once during the 13-minute phone call expresses concern for her Caylee—only anger that she had been arrested.

Q: The latest pictures show Casey Anthony clubbing with friends one week after her daughter was “kidnapped.” What does that tell you?

A: This shows us the child was a burden to her and interfered with her lifestyle. When you see suspects enjoying life so soon after a tragedy, especially with a child missing, it almost always means they are guilty.

Q: What's it going to take to crack this case?

A: We are confident the detectives in Orlando will solve this case and determine what happened to Casey. If we were questioning Casey Anthony, we would try to keep her talking about anything. She’s defensive. She has been watching the news and she knows the nation believes she is guilty. A strong-arm approach with her would shut her down and make her more defensive.

The public might not understand this but we would approach Casey in a friendly, "we want to help you" manner. It takes incredible patience with lying suspects like Casey. The first thing you need to do in an interview is establish rapport. Confrontational methods rarely work. The key reason we’ve successfully secured so many confessions is extreme patience.

A homicide detective always does a background on the family. Casey’s mother’s behavior alone sets off big warning bells. She goes onto news programs and thinks she can use the public’s airwaves how she sees fit. She shows arrogance and refuses to answer questions about her own daughter’s involvement.

We believe Casey is not a real mother. There are evil people out there and they do evil things—things that are unimaginable to most normal people. We believe the investigators will prove Casey Anthony is a beautiful, sociopathic monster.

I hope so too but I think you are correct. I have been reading a bit over on WebSleuths and there are some thread that seem to come to the same conclusion.

If they could charge her with murder now and make it stick then they wouldn't bother with credit card fraud. They will use the lesser charges as a way to keep her butt in jail while they frantically search for the body and for more evidence. :sad2:

If she is released she is a flight risk.

What worries me about this is that Casey's parents and Casey's "ex-friend," Amy, have to file charges against her for the credit card theft (Casey's parents) and stolen money (Amy's $700-1,000), right? I do not think the Anthony's nor Amy have actually filed charges against Casey. I thought I read somewhere that Amy was reluctant to do so. And can you picture the Anthony's filing charges against Casey for cc theft now?

It depends. I'm not sure what the law is exactly but unless the victims (Amy and the parents) want to lose every dime that Casey stole from them then they have no choice but to press charges. In other words - if Amy reported the theft to her bank and the bank reimbursed her for the money missing from her account then the bank would go after Casey for the money at that point. Same with the credit cards - if the Anthonys filed a theft claim so that they did not have to pay those fraudulent charges on their cards then the credit card company would remove those charges then they would go after Casey for the money. I think that is how it works but it may depend on the $$ amount.

I always come here for news first...thanks for these posts...didnt have time to watch Nancy Grace.

I really hope the police are building a strong case against her...anyone who has ever watched one episode of Law and Order can tell she is guilty...of something!
Better yet...anyone who is a parent....knows she is guilty of something.

Yep.

One of the most disturbing things I ever witnessed was a probable cause hearing for a man accused (and later convicted) of bludgeoning an old lady to death. The motive was robbery and if I recall correctly, they got about $60. He stood there - eating a cookie - like he didn't have a care in the world. I have never seen anyone so cold in all my life. It reminds me of Casey Anthony.

Watching Nancy Grace and I noticed something. They are talking about the possible drowning in her parents pool. That doesn't fit though with the frantic calls she made on the afternoon of the 16th. She called her parents HOUSE three times during that hour time period, along with calling their cells. If that theory that the flurry of calls that afternoon might have been around the time something happened, and she had been at thier house, Caylee drowning in the pool, why would she call the house she was standing in!?

I thought that she called her parents on their cell and at work...not home...I am not 100% sure since I was making dinner and watching Nancy at the same time. :confused3

Well, at least the cops know where Casey was calling from, even if we don't. Let's hope the cops know a lot more than Nancy Grace and her talking heads.

I, too, have been watching Nancy Grace almost every night since this story aired, and bless her heart for putting all this out there, but it's frustrating. Yesterday, they wasted time posting a photo of a little girl who was clearly a year or two older than Caylee. Anyone can see that was not Caylee. The child had the same hat as Caylee and surprise surprise, the child had her hand in front of her face. Just like all the photos you see of Big Foot and Maddy McCann, they're all blurry or unrecognizable.

The other thing was when a caller on Nancy Grace mentioned the backpacks that Casey and Caylee had with them when they left Grandpa George's house on June 15... Nancy and her talking head knew NOTHING about the backpacks. I did and I'm sure many of you did... George mentioned it last week during the Greta tour of the Anthony house. Now just because it was on Fox and not CNN, wouldn't you think someone from Nancy Grace's show would be on top of these things and keep her informed?

I think the only thing Casey used the pool for, was to wash her hands of evidence, or maybe even take a dip in the pool for the same reason. The Anthony's said they found the ladder inside the pool on, was it the morning of Tuesday June 17? They said they never leave the ladder in the pool because it was a safety hazard for little Caylee. Casey may have gotten into the pool to wash off evidence and left the ladder in there without thinking... or maybe she thought 'why take the ladder out when there is no Caylee to worry about.' Have the cops checked the pool filter? I hope so!
