I have wondered if she ever knew for sure who the father was... With the type of lifestyle that Casey had then she surely needed some type of incoming money since she didn't have steady employment. A child can mean either child support if the father is alive OR a social security check once the father is deceased. I can't imagine she wouldn't cash in on this if indeed she knew who the father of this precious child really was.

My grandmother always said - "If you stick your finger in a hornet nest, how are you gonna know which one stung you?"

She may not have realized the social security would be available to her. My (very annoying) sister never named DN's father on his birth certificate. For one thing, I am not sure she is positive who it is and for the other she was able to receive more benefits without it.

Ha! Your Grandmother sounds like mine - she always had witty sayings like that. :)

I don't know what other benefits she would be entitled to by not naming the father other than perhaps medicaid (or is it medicare - I always mix those up). If she knew who the father was then not only could she get money out of him and his family BUT she would also have free babysitters out of that set of Grandparents if there were any. :sad2:

The not telling the other set of "Grandparents" out of respect for them makes no sense - this family doesn't have respect for anyone but themselves!

I have only just heard about this awful story. I am so sad at everything I have read, and am praying that there is a happy ending to this, although I just can't see it happening. So sad.

They did mention the apartment visitor card on the 17th, the day after the Anthony family last saw Caylee. Now I'm wondering if there really is a Zenaida (sp?) that said she lived there, had Casey meet her there to take Caylee and then took off with her. Hmmm

I wish they had security camera tapes of that day at the apartment leasing office there - it wouldn't surprise me if it was Casey herself (or an accomplice) signing the card, as in setting up an alibi.

Listen to me, at the very first of all this when the news showed Casey teliing them she worked at Universal and then leading all the detectives through the park to her "employee locker" - when she was fired from there in 2006! - I realized that Casey was a world class liar. Cindy glosses all this over but really, who would do that?

At least they finally admitted Casey stold the gas cans:
The grandfather of missing Caylee Marie Anthony admits that his daughter, Casey Anthony, stole a couple of gasoline cans from a shed at their home before she reported the toddler's disappearance.

VAN SUSTEREN: Are these the sheds were there was some report something was stolen from the sheds or broken into?

CINDY ANTHONY: Yes, and we actually need to replace a lot of stuff out here. But yes, this is one of the sheds that we would normally keep locked and normally keep the shovels in, which we do keep the shovels in. This is his toolshed. The lawn mower, you know, weed-whacker, that type of thing, shovels, axes, hoes, anything you do gardening work is locked up in here, like that. I mean, it's a normal shed.

VAN SUSTEREN: Was something reported stolen from this, though?

CINDY ANTHONY: Yes, gas cans.

VAN SUSTEREN: When was that report made that gas cans were stolen?

CINDY ANTHONY: You'd have to ask George.

VAN SUSTEREN: Was that, though, before Caylee was -- had been reported missing or after, that the gas cans...

CINDY ANTHONY: That was before.

GEORGE ANTHONY: Absolutely.

VAN SUSTEREN: And gas cans were -- how many gas cans?

GEORGE ANTHONY: Two, the 2-and-a-half-gallon and one about a gallon- and-a-quarter, something like that.

VAN SUSTEREN: Now, you made the report on June 24, though. That's when you noticed it. Do you remember when you last were in there, so you have some sort of window of when that could have happened?

GEORGE ANTHONY: It could have been Sunday. I believe I was in there Sunday. I don't believe I was in there the day before that, like, on the 23rd. I'm almost positive it's a Sunday.

VAN SUSTEREN: So the Sunday the 23rd, you might have been in there?

CINDY ANTHONY: Well, Sunday would have been the 22nd.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. So as best you can tell, it happened between the 22nd and the 24th. someone broke in there.

GEORGE ANTHONY: Uh-huh.

That's when I saw my daughter. I was getting ready to go to work, and the garage door goes open and my daughter comes in. This is about 2:25, 2:30 in the afternoon on the 24th. As she comes in the house, and I said, Hey, how're you doing? And she says, Fine, Dad. I says, Well, what's going on? And she says, Oh, I'm just stopping home for about 10 minutes, get some clothes. I go to go back to work. Where's Caylee? She's with Zanny. And I said, OK, when are you guys coming home? She says, Oh, we'll be back home maybe late tonight or the next day.

I said, OK. Have you been talking to Mom? Oh, yes, I talk to Mom every day. I said, I know, but did you talk to Mom today? She sort of hesitated for a moment and she says, Yes. And she says, Oh, by the way, it's a shame what happened in the shed. And I said...

CINDY ANTHONY: Yes, because (INAUDIBLE)

GEORGE ANTHONY: And I said, Really? She says, yes. I said, Interesting. And I just said, Hey, by the way, I said, I'm getting ready to rotate your mom's tires on her car. There's a little metal wedge that fits underneath your tires so your car doesn't rock back and forth. And I said, Well, I'd like to have it, so in case you're not here over the weekend, I'd like to be able to do it.

She was hesitant about letting me get in the car. And I said, Well, listen, I got an extra key. I'll just go get it. Well, she was adamant about -- about that.

VAN SUSTEREN: What, not letting you into the car?

GEORGE ANTHONY: Yes, didn't want me to get into the car to get the stuff out. Dad, I'll get it for you. Dad, I'll get it out. I said, It's no problem. I know where it's at. I'll get it, get it out and be done with it.

So as we're walking out through the garage, she's still telling me, Dad, I'll get it. Give me a minute, I'll get it. I said, Casey, I'm capable of reaching inside your car, and I got it. So -- and she opened up the trunk of the car...

CINDY ANTHONY: The gas cans were there.

GEORGE ANTHONY: (INAUDIBLE) The gas cans there. She's the one that took the gas cans.

Now I wonder if Caylee's body was in there too and he missed it OR found it and then helped her dispose of evidence?

Also Cindy mentioned on Geraldo’s show “She did not want to lose another one” - now just what does that mean? :scared1:

During the noon news today there was a totally separate report about a terrible smell out at the airport (Orlando), and they were saying it could be dead rodents, etc. My first thought in hearing this? That I hope they send the cadaver dogs, because on the day Caylee was finally reported missing
1) Casey had picked up her friend at the airport
2) Casey says the baby is close to home
3) OIA airport is close to their home
:guilty:

So OK, I told DH that now I know that I'm just offically gone off the deep end and imagining all kinds of stupid theories - and I blame Cindy for it. ;)

Casey please put me out of my misery and just talk to the police, the FBI, whoever- just spill your guts and end this. I'm haunted by the pictures of Caylee - those eyes

That is so true. Even if she didn't have the sense, someone in her family should've known this. I can almost understand the reasoning when he's alive but what would be the reasoning if he's deceased.. as they CLAIM.

I'd believe in the Tooth Fairy before I believe one of their stories... :surfweb:

I saw the Greta interview last night, I really really don't think the grandparents know anything about where Caylee is and I don't think they help got rid of her body if there is a body to have got riden of. To many phone calls have been released where Cindy is trying to get info out of Casey

I don't think they know either but they sure are covering up for her....

What bothered me about last night's interview ... or ONE of the many things that bothered me... was how she had to "interpret" what Casey said about Caylee being "close".... :confused3

Interpret??? My daughter would be telling me what the hell that meant and if I had to interpret it she'd be in a heck of a lot of pain! :furious:

"What I interpret that to mean is...." What kind of stupid foolS ARE they???? :confused3

Actual transcript:

VAN SUSTEREN: But in her way -- so that, I mean -- I know, George, that it was at least reported that you came out the other day and said that Casey said that Caylee was close, which is, you know, rather vague. Is that -- is that the kind of information that, Cindy, you have, or do you have, like, specific information that satisfies you?

GEORGE ANTHONY: She just feels that Caylee's close, she's still safe.

CINDY ANTHONY: And I think you can interpret that in a couple of ways. Close meaning within the central Florida area, close meaning in the neighborhood -- I don't think that's what she means -- close to maybe coming home. There's a lot of different ways to interpret that. My interpretation is that she's, hopefully, in this area.

Interpret THIS! :furious:

My DH is friends with a Detective on this case and they went out last night. From what he tells my DH, they know a lot more than they are letting on and pretty much know exactly what happened, even an idea where the body is but just can't locate it at this point. He told my DH a lot of stuff but like I told my DH, you never know, take it for what it's worth.

It would make sense that they must know pretty much what happened, because they certainly are not putting any APBs out or issuing an Amber Alert in an effort to find the supposed 'kidnapper.'

I would not be one bit surprised to find out that she lied about who Caylee's father really is.

I also agree that something is suspicious with how Casey has been able to support her daughter and herself all this time. Was her last job at Universal? That was apparently about 2 years ago, so how has she supported the 2 of them thus far?

Let's all just hop in a van and head off to Florida. I think that about about 5 -10 minutes of us being in the room with her she will tell the police every little thing they want to know and probably some they didn't even ask for.

Okay, but only if we pick up Nancy Grace on the way!

When they find Caylee's body and I do believe one day they will. The grandmother and mom will say the babysitter did it. I have no doubt.

Casey really reminds me of the Diane Downs case on so many ways - especially about the tattoo. I bet having a child just seemed to "get in the way" for the Mom - it took her Mother's attention away and it cramped her style when she wanted to go out partying.

I would bet that Casey has some form of psychosis or Munchausen's by Proxy (where the Mother causes harm to the child to gain attention for herself).

I really hope that the Police know more than they are saying.
