I feel the same way. I DO NOT like the grandmother at all:mad: She is making excuses for her daughter and it seems like she enabled that pathetic young lady her entire life.

Something is strange about the grandparents.

I completely agree!! I do not like Grandma's public attitude. She is very defensive and has an air of entitlement as well. She acts like the public owes it to their family to beat the pavement and find the little girl for them when it's pretty obvious that the mother is the one who has the answers. She gets her undies in a twist claiming that the media is focusing on her daughter when they should be focusing on finding the granddaughter. Uh Hello! The daughter is the logical, most direct way to get the info about the little girl! :sad2:

I read somewhere today that the attorney has stated he knows what is going on but cannot say because of his relationship with his client.....I thought that if there was a potential danger to someone, they had an obligation to speak up....this just breaks my heart. I really really hope they find this little girl, and she is ok.

If the crime has already been committed and the child is dead, then his duty is to his (witch of a) client and he cannot speak up. He would only be compelled to speak up if the child was alive and in danger somewhere and he had info that could save her, for instance. Since he's keeping his trap shut, that doesn't look good for this child.

This is not a scientific judgment on my part....Just a lay assessment. That mother looks nutty as a fruitcake. :scared: She's got those "crazy eyes" that make me instantly think, "Run the other way!"

I'm really losing my touch. I read this thread, then watched the morning interview linked here. I wasn't getting the same vibe at all. I was more intersted in why she was massaging her son's thigh & he wasn't speaking or holding her hand. As for eyes, I thought blue contacts that didn't look right at all. I was really expecting more white trash looking people. I'm still holding out hope that she sold her for some reason. One very messed up story that leaves me with many questions for grandma & mother.

Another update and all I can say is Yikes! :scared1:

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- For the first time, the grandparents of missing girl Caylee Anthony admit their daughter may have had something to do with her disappearance. That mother, Casey Anthony, is now trying everything to get out of jail.

In a surprising turnaround Monday, Caylee Marie's grandmother told Eyewitness News she wants Caylee's mother Casey to know that she forgives Casey and said, if a judge allows Casey out of jail Tuesday, she's welcome to come back to their home if she wants to.

More flowers were delivered to Caylee Marie Anthony's grandparents house Monday. Inside, family members were fielding phone calls and emails, hoping for leads to Caylee's whereabouts, six days after she was reported missing and about six weeks after Caylee's mother Casey says she last saw the little girl.

Monday, grandmother Cynthia Anthony told Eyewitness News she forgives Casey.

"For whatever she's done. Everybody, she has done something, okay. She's holding back or whatever it is. Otherwise, Caylee would be right here with us, so, she has done something. So I forgive her for whatever that is," Cynthia said Monday.

Eyewitness News asked her about what she had written in her blog on MySpace.com that jealousy drove Casey away with the child. She admits there was tension over who was closer to Caylee.

"When you give birth to a child, you want to hold that child yourself for the first time. You don't want to see your mother hold that child for the first time. And unfortunately it was me or nobody, because she wasn't allowed to hold the baby at that time," Cynthia said.

Looking back, Cynthia said, she now realizes why Casey needed her space. If her flight for independence included handing Caylee off to someone who is now obsessively enchanted by the beautiful little girl, Caylee's grandmother said she forgives that person, too.

"[I would tell them] to call the police department or to call me and we'll come pick her up right now, no questions asked," she said.

Investigators said they have talked with the person who gave Casey Anthony a ride from the Amscot where she abandoned her car late last month and that person might know what happened to Caylee. Amscot won't say whether Casey tried to cash a check there.

Mother Could Bond Out Of Jail Tuesday

Casey Anthony could get a chance to bond out of jail and her attorney said Monday she may be willing to tell detectives what she knows about her child's disappearance if she can be immune from prosecution.

"It's abundantly clear, she should be released, she's entitled to a bond," attorney Jose Baez said during a media briefing Monday.

If Baez gets his way, his client will walk out of the Orange County jail Tuesday. The bond could be as low as $2,000, because she's only being held on a third-degree felony for child neglect and a misdemeanor charge of lying to police.

Baez said he would consider allowing her to tell everything she knows if investigators gave her immunity.

"Absolutely, we'd consider it. It's something I would have to convey to her," he said.

Baez contends Casey knows who has Caylee and is willing to help, but it's hard when she's in jail. Detectives said she's lied so much, she is no longer credible.

Casey Anthony is in a psych ward at the jail with nothing but a blanket. Mental health evaluations have turned up no problem, but even Baez admitted he's not sure Casey can handle being out of jail in an unsupervised environment.

In 2006, Melinda Duckett shot and killed herself the day after she was interviewed on Nancy Grace's TV show about her missing son Trenton.

"Can I say for certain that's going to happen? Absolutely not. But I will stress this, every case is different, every person is different," Baez said.

A judge will decide if Anthony should get bond Tuesday afternoon.

Such a beautiful little girl, and so many other people in the world who would have treasured her.

I saw the Grandma on Geraldo, and judging by her responses to his questions, all I could think is, if the daughter is a psycho, I think I know why. Grandma did not come across as anyone I would want to know.Casey knows exactly what happened to Caylee, because she was responsible.

I do not think this will end well...

I was afraid to say this, but I agree, so I'm glad you did.

The grandmother, Cynthia Anthony, does not interview well at all. She comes across as short and witchy and does not garner sympathy at all. I know that she's in a difficult situation, but how do you expect to get help when she goes on the news, will not answer questions, and responds to questions with "Are you freaking kidding me?" (Geraldo at Large). Grandma needs a PR person BAD.

How sad for little Caylee, that not only does she have a mom who didn't report her missing for weeks, but this grandma is her spokesperson. I hope Caylee finds a sympathetic voice to speak for her soon. Grandma seems more concerned about protecting Casey than finding Caylee. If she truly cared about finding Caylee, she'd be much more forthcoming in her interviews (and I've been watching all weekend).

If the grandparents are innocent (and at this point it sounds like they are) I feel for them. It sounds like there are some ongoing family issues, but they still love their daughter. That must be such a horrible positino to be in, to have to admit that the child you raised and that you love may have committed a heinous crime. Here's hoping the little girl is found safe.

Wow. Isn't that nice of her:rolleyes: How about telling the detectives RIGHT NOW!?!?!?

This family is out of control.

My jaw dropped when I heard this on the news last night. The kid is obviously dead and she is trying to finagle herself out of it.

Grandma knows the kid is dead and is grasping at straws to save her daughter.

But doesn't a part of you hope that she just sold her or gave her to someone? Could it even be that she is hiding her from the grandparents?

No doubt this is one messed up family. Tell the authorities NOW what happen! Really, do they think everything will be cleared up if they give her a deal and release her? She will just lie again.

Latest very sad update about little Caylee. :sad1:

Prosecutor: Missing Fla. girl may have been killed
The Associated Press

Published: Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 5:27 p.m.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Prosecutors in Florida say the case of a missing 2-year-old Orlando girl is beginning to look like a homicide. A judge set bond at $500,000 Tuesday for the girl's mother, who was charged with obstructing the investigation after investigators say she lied to them.

This undated photo released by the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando, Fla. on Friday, July 18, 2008, shows Caylee Marie Anthony , 2, who has been missing more than a month. Her mother, Casey Marie Anthony has been arrested for alleged child neglect and providing false information to law enforcement.(AP Photo/Orange County Sheriff's Office)Circuit Judge Stan Strickland says he's concerned that evidence presented in court possibly implicates 22-year-old Casey Anthony in 2-year-old Caylee's death. An investigator testified that Anthony's car smelled of decomposition when it was found.

Anthony was arrested last week after reporting her daughter missing. The girl hasn't been seen since last month.

Anthony's attorney says there is circumstantial evidence of a possible homicide, but not enough to give prosecutors the confidence to charge Anthony with homicide, kidnapping or any similar offense.

This evening ABC news is reporting Caylee's DNA was found in the trunk of her mother's car,
along with a dirty shovel. :sad2:

I was hoping and praying for a possitive outcome for this little angel.
How heartbreaking ~ there are no words. :sad1:

May God Bless this little angel.

OMG! So the Grandmother has been protecting this poor excuse for a mother:sad2:

I pray this (about the shovel) is not true:angel:

This is soooo sad, but I wouldn't be surprised if the mother did kill her and is trying to cover it up. They would be so stupid to agree to no prosecution if she tells them what she did with her. She needs to be on a one way track to hades.

My stomach just sank. We all knew this would probably be how things would go but I know that so many of us have held out hope that she was really alive somewhere. I just don't get why people do this.

I was really hoping and praying that this wouldn't turn out this way, that poor baby. Given the mother's smirking face in court and the grandma saying that the daughter knows who has her made me think maybe, just maybe this chick just snapped and gave her daughter away but now it doesn't look that way. I'm still confused on the fact that they LIVED with the grandmother and she didn't think anything of the little girl missing for 5 wks? I don't understand why they were pushing so hard for her to get out of jail so she could tell them more information, couldn't the police just interrogate her to get more info? The grandmother made some odd comments about being the first to hold Caylee after she was born and her daughter not being able to get over it or deal with it or something, what was that all about and what does it have to do with the girl missing?

Ugh, I feel sick to my stomach over this.

The more I hear come out of the grandmothers mouth the more I don't trust her.
Has anyone heard if the mother actually had a "real" job since she was fired from USO? I jsut can't hlpe but think she was working as a prostitute or drug dealer. did her parents think she still worked at USO?
At first didn't the grandparents say that they though that Casey and Caylee were on vacation. Now I've heard the grandmother say that Casey would come home, but say that Caylee had fallen asleep at the sitter and she didn't want to wake her.

Sadly -- with all the evidence coming to light, I do not think this will have a good outcome -- what kind of world is it when I keep hoping mom just sold that beautiful little girl....I know that I would call the police if my girls did not show up at home as planned, and they are teenagers with a mind of their own. Not a completely helpless little 2-year-old. It is absolutely UNREASONABLE to not report your child's disappearance for 5 weeks -- unless you had something terrible to hide. My heart goes out to Caylee...and hope the punishment for the perpetrator(s) is swift and painful.

How very sad. That poor little child.:sad1:
