This is from the latest on CNN about the case:

Sheriff's deputies said her car smelled of decomposition, and a cadaver-trained German Shepherd noted a smell of human remains in the car and her yard. They said they found a stain, dirt and what seemed to be piece of Caylee's hair in Anthony's trunk.

I thought they said it was a rotten pizza in the trunk. How come the info is so choppy in this case? I thought there was nothing in the yard.

Right....

So the SAME DAY the daughter has a bail hearing and the police are talking about homocide the gramma gets a voicemail saying that someone saw the kid alive? Sounds like grandma trying to do anything she can think of to cover for her daughter.

I think it is most likely a hoax.

The grandmother said it was pizza - police have not been able to verify that and they say it smells of decomp.

A cadaver dog would not have been thrown off by "rotten pizza". That dog smelled a decomposing body.

Well, I have never smelled decomp, but I can bet you a million dollars that it doesn't smell like rotting pizza. These dogs are well trained and wouldn't confuse the two.

I smell something fishy, though :fish:

I didn't realize it was the grandmother who said the smell was from pizza. Thanks.

Me neither. I thought that was what the police said once they found the car

It is a very distinct smell, nothing can compare to it. It isn't even close to rotting pizza.

I think Grandma knows what happened and is trying to get her daughter out of jail so she can run.

Arrested Mom's Ex-Fiancé Reveals Information That Could Change Timeline

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News learned Casey Anthony's ex-fiancé now says he heard 2-year-old Caylee Anthony during a phone call on June 24, after her last reported sighting. On the same day of Anthony's bond hearing, her ex-fiancé contradicted Casey Anthony's timeline of events in a sworn statement to deputies Tuesday afternoon.

The man, identified only as Jesse, told Eyewitness News and deputies Tuesday that he believes little Caylee Anthony was with her mother Casey much more recently than Casey has let on.

Casey claims she last saw the little girl on June 9, when she left her with a babysitter. But Jesse now says he called Casey on Tuesday, June 24 and heard her scolding the little girl for jumping up on the table in the background. He then heard the girl's young voice in the background responding and told Eyewitness News he is 100 percent sure that it was Caylee.

If true, that would be a major wrench in the timeline Casey Anthony has given deputies. It is a full two weeks after Casey says she last saw Caylee. Jesse told Eyewitness News he remembers the day clearly, because it was the very day he resigned from the Orlando Police Department. He said he called Casey to let her know and said phone records show the call was 18 minutes long.

Eyewitness News talked with Casey's parents for about 15 minutes inside their home Tuesday, hoping to get their reaction to thepotentially major change in the timeline, but they declined to comment specifically, saying they didn't want to jeopardize the investigation.

It was only three days later that, Jesse said, he spoke to Casey again and she told him that Caylee was with a babysitter, so she would be free to go to the beach the next day.

The family acknowledges that Jesse is a friend and said they were not surprised he's making the claim.

it just keeps getting stranger by the minute. One would hope the former(?) officer wouldn't lie to cover for her.

Just because he worked for the Orlando PD does not make him a police officer. He could have been a jailer, dispatcher, janitor, clerk or any number of positions.

If his story is contradicting hers, then it would appear he is not lying to cover for her.

I can imagine that it smells like nothing most normal people have smelled. I worked in an MD's office for several years and a pt had that flesh eating bacteria and that was pretty bad.

Yeah, I believe grandma knows something she isn't telling. What gradmother that lives that close doesn't see her grandchild daily or at least every other day.

It really does. Can't wait to hear what they come up with next.

On the news, the K-9 Officer said that there is no way the dog would confuse rotten pizza with the smell of decomposition.

The grandmother had better shut up before she's arrested for obstructing justice, too. She's putting her foot so deep down her throat and she's lost all credibility. At least her loony daughter was smart enough to shut up. :furious:

Ask Judge Judy how well men remember DATES!! :lmao:

This makes no sense whatsoever. She put herself in major trouble by saying she "misplaced" the child 5 weeks ago... why would she lie to make it worse????

The grandmother was also the one who said that the shovel was borrowed from the neighbor because they have invasive bamboo in their backyard and they needed the shovel to cut it out. Yeah, right. She wants us to believe that Casey is out gardening while her daughter is missing? It's mentioned in the report below:

Channel 9's Eric Rasmussen carefully laid out the facts in the Casey Anthony case with a crime expert to try to piece together what really happened to the woman's 2-year-old daughter.

At last check, a garage at the sheriff's office is where detectives took Casey Anthony's car. They say it contained a number of troubling clues. Combine that with a timeline of events since little Caylee disappeared and at least one expert says there's a theory building about what really happened to the little girl.

Where is 2-year-old Caylee Anthony? Detectives may not yet have the answer, but it now appears they're working on one troubling scenario.

"There is a possibility this child is no longer alive?" a prosecutor asked Orange County Detective Yuri Melich during the bond hearing for Casey Anthony on Tuesday.

"Yes, that can be concluded," Melich said.

He confirmed a series of clues in court on Tuesday.

The Anthony's Backyard: Involved a tip that Casey Anthony borrowed a shovel from a neighbor. Two cadaver dogs pointed to the smell of decomposition near Caylee's playhouse.

Casey Anthony's Car: Detectives reported a different dog alerted to the same strong smell in the trunk after the white Pontiac had been abandoned in a parking lot.

"They have a hypothesis that the child may have somehow passed away," Dr. Richard Weinblatt told Eyewitness News.

Weinblatt, a former police chief and manager of Seminole Community College's Criminal Justice Program, said detectives must consider why there was evidence of a body in the car and at the home.

"The body could've been placed there and a person or persons could've changed their mind and decided to move the body elsewhere," he said.

Anthony's family insisted there was another reason for the smell.

"There was a bag of pizza for 12 days in a car full of maggots," Casey's mother Cynthia Anthony told reporters while leaving her daughter's bond hearing Tuesday.

"Do you think you would mistake the smell of a body for trash?" WFTV reporter Eric Rasmussen asked Weinblatt.

"Absolutely not. It's very, very distinctive," he said.

Weinblatt says other evidence from the car could solidify the case investigators are building.

"They say they found hair, they found a stain and they found dirt. What are they doing with that evidence? They have to process it. Where did the dirt come from? Does it match soil samples they found in the back yard?" he said.

Orange County detectives have not officially ruled out the chance that Caylee might still be alive and Weinblatt said it's not uncommon for investigators to consider multiple theories until they can nail one down for sure.

The parents are trying desperately right now to raise her bail - although she will have to wear a GPS tracking device if she gets out, I don't trust her to stick around. And the worst thing is that her parents would probably help her flee :guilty:

If that woman gets out of jail she will be GONE, GPS tracker or not. Unless they imbed it in her somehow!

This is all sooo strange, I wonder if the truth will ever come out.

I really don't believe that she is alive if a cadaver dog has detected decomp and hair has been retrieved from the trunk of the car. Pizza doesn't have hair or blood.

Casey might have moved her. Who knows, since she has supposedly been missing for 6 weeks, where this poor baby is? Will we ever know?

Actually I think men have selective memory when it comes to dates...most men into sports can rattle off dates better than I remember birthdays, and if something significant happened on that day - quitting in this example, I would think he would remember.
