Hello everyone & welcome to my kind-of-first PTR! I had a PTR going for my next trip to WDW that I originally thought would be May 2012 & then May 2013. However, I've decided that a year and a half is just WAY too far away and I jumped on the Free Dining bandwagon :rotfl:. The trip is officially booked so I can say with confidence that this is going to stay an August PTR! DBF & I took our first trip to 'The World' in May 2011. We spent our 1 year anniversary there :lovestruc. It was my first time ever going to Disney & I fell in love! So much so that I annoy him with how obsessive I am of Disney . He loves Disney too, just not as crazily as me. This will be our 2nd trip together & I couldn't be more excited! So without further adieu:

Table of Contents
Chapter 1: The Who
Chapter 2: The When & The Where
Chapter 3: ADRs!
Chapter 4: Pre-Disney Dole Whips
Chapter 5: Touring Plans

Meet the cast!

Me - Mandy: I'm currently in school majoring in accounting. You can also find me at Publix as a Customer Service Staff! I'm only attending school part time, so I'll probably graduate in 2-3 years. I'm a big couponer, but I don't do crazy things like you see on the TLC show . When I'm not at work or school (which is rare) you can find me watching movies or playing video games. I'm a big nerd & so is the DBF!

Disney Favorites!
Character: Stitch
Movie: Aladdin/Peter Pan
Park: Hollywood Studios... which I call MGM & so does the DBF :)
Ride: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster/Expedition Everest
Restaurant: 'Ohana

DBF - Matt: Matt is attending the same school as I am & he's majoring in Computer Science (we're nerds, remember?). We met at Publix in April 2010 & he is also Customer Service Staff! When he isn't working or at school you can usually find him in front of his custom built computer :lmao:

Disney Favorites:
Character: Stitch
Movie: The Rescuers
Park: Epcot
Ride: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Restaurant: 'Ohana

Here's both of us at a Mardi Gras ball this past year.

We will be headed to WDW August 30 - September 4, 2012! The first week of classes starts on August 20th at our college. However, I only take Tuesday & Thursday classes so I'll only miss 1 day of class. DBF will miss 2 days, which isn't bad at all :). I'm definitely curious about how crowded it will be on Labor Day Weekend. I've read that as far as holidays go, Labor Day Weekend isn't too bad of a time. We live 1 state over so the heat definitely won't be an issue.

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside! I'm so excited to be staying at a Moderate Resort this time around. We wanted a fridge & internet access this time, which would be an additional $100 combined at a value so in my eyes it was not that much more $ to stay at POR. I like being closer to Epcot & the boat that goes to DTD :goodvibes

My ADRs are finally made! :yay: This trip is smaller than our last & I feel like we aren't eating at as many places, but that's ok. 2 of the Table Service meals are repeats because they are SO amazing (Boma & 'Ohana!). The other 3 restaurants are new to us. So here we go:

8/30: Boma - One of our absolute FAVORITE restaurants. The food here is amazingly good.
8/31: 'Ohana - Our favorite restaurant from last time. I would go just for the dessert!
9/1: Sci-Fi Dine-In - I've heard lots of good things & I'm excited to eat dinner out of the cute cars with the cheesy movies playing .
9/2: Kona Cafe - We passed by here on our way to 'Ohana last year. The menu looks amazing & we are excited to eat here. I'm determined to eat breakfast here at some point as well!
9/3: Les Chefs de France - I was trying to find a good restaurant to eat at in Epcot. Last trip we did 3 TS meals here! Duck is one of my favorite foods & once I saw that Chefs de France served this, I was hooked. I am also dying to try their french onion soup with all of that gruyere cheese on top!

Where I would *like* to use my CS credits:
8/31: Flame Tree BBQ - Went here last time & was probably my favorite CS! Portions are great & the food is delicious :)
9/1: Pizza Planet - We also went here last time. I liked this better than Starring Rolls or Backlot Express. Now if only they offered the amazing cupcakes like Starring Rolls!
9/2: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe: We have never been here & I'm very excited as I've only heard good things!
9/3: La Cantina de San Angel - Last time we ate the sit down Mexican restaurant & it was good. I'm sure this will be yummy as well.
9/4: Wolfgang Puck - This one may change depending on our mood. This is checkout day & I plan on doing some shopping in DTD.

Not really having the best week here... DBF has been sick for 4 days now. We both work together so I've been able to work 2 of his shifts & he only had to callout twice. I closed last night & got home close to midnight & then had to turn around and be back at 6 am :scared1:. I tried to stay awake but I crashed a few hours after getting home. We had planned to eat dinner at his parents' house but obviously I didn't make it :guilty:. However, he brought home dinner for me AND the dole whip mix that we had been keeping at their house :yay:. I sprang right up when I heard this & started the mixing process!

This is our 2nd time making Dole Whips since we ordered the mix in December. The first time I made it, I followed the directions completely. The mix came out more like a sorbet rather than the creamy Dole Whip we know & love. After some research, I discovered that adding a lot less water would help to make it creamy. This time I skipped the add extra water step & the most creamy wonderful Dole Whip was created :woohoo:.

The mix itself is pricey to order. Mainly because shipping is almost as much as the product because it is from Hawaii. However, it is the perfect pre-Disney snack :). The bag is also ginormous & will last us a long time. So with only 171 days to go, the Dole Whip is making it even better.

Here is a list of my touring plans & what I hope to accomplish on the trip! This will be our 2nd trip together & we didn't get Park Hoppers this time since the trip is so short.

8/30: Arrival Day! Magic Kingdom
8/31: Animal Kingdom
9/1: Hollywood Studios
9/2: Magic Kingdom
9/3: Epcot
9/4: Departure Day :( Downtown Disney

It was a toss up between 2 days of the Magic Kingdom or 2 days of Epcot. Due to the fact that Test Track will probably be down, we decided to do 2 days of the wonderful Magic Kingdom!

Magic Kingdom
- I plan on doing most of the rides
- We didn't do Dumbo last time & I want to make sure we do this time as it is such a classic ride
- The Enchanted Tiki Room was closed last time I went so I'm sure we will do it this time around
- I read that Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid opens in 2012, according to my Unoffical Guide to WDW... maybe it will be open by September!

Animal Kingdom
- We did everything last time except for Primeval Whirl because it was closed
- We seem to finish everything early at this park so we might get more rest in today or head to Downtown Disney this night!

Hollywood Studios
- My favorite park
- We didn't get to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid last time so I'm looking forward to that
- I'm also excited for Walt Disney: One Man's Dream! I think we were too tired to do this & the Little Mermaid last time
- I would love to try a turkey leg but I'm iffy on paying $10! Especially since we will probably be full from CS lunch

Epcot
- The DBF's favorite park :)
- I am SO SO SO excited to try an avocado margarita from La Cave de Tequila :cool1:
- We didn't get to do the Gran Fiesta boat ride last time so I'm excited about that
- We also didn't get to spend as much time in the World Showcase as I would have wanted, however, with Test Track possibly being down we will get more done!
