We are going for 6 nights, myself, dh, ds (4) and dd (2) - so the cost will be about $486.00 for the plan. We will most often pay out of pocket for any breakfast items, other than if we do a character meal - and we'll do the pop tart / cereal in the room thing too.

I just can't decide if it will work for us. I will have to pay for dd (2) all the time, or maybe she can share with ds (4) some meals so should I just not to the plan since I have to pay for her?

Also, I really want to eat at The Rainforest Cafe either at DTD or AK which does not accept the plan and I'd like to do Planet Hollywood @ DTD, also not on the plan. But I could save credits on one to do a sign. dinner??

UGH! I go back and forth...I need to decide and be done with it, love to hear some info. I've read quite a few threads on here both pro & con for the plan but it can't hurt to ask again right???

Thanks in advance!

We chose the dining plan and have a 2 year old and a 5 year old. We booked many more character meals because of it as they are always the highlight of my dd's trip. I don't think I'll have to order much for my 2 year old at all. He is a picky eater and will just eat off our plates most of the time and I'll maybe buy him the occassional uncrustable, LOL!! Actually we probably won't use all our counter service credits so I can probably use some of them to order him a kids meal.

Look over the menus on allears and try to plan out where you would eat and see if its worth it. I know I could have gotten off cheaper than our $640 dining cost by doing more counter service, etc. but I could never have done the PS's we are doing (and the amount of food we will be getting) on that amount so I feel its well worth it!!!

If I understand correctly, at counters you can order adult-sized portions for your 4 year old. Then, the 4 year old can share the meal with the 2 year old. Also, at sit-downs and buffets, I don't think that you are charged for a 2 year old.

$486/6 days=$81/day for 4 people.....you can't do 1 character meal for that.
($20 pp per day)

I think that I would do it this year....but maybe not next year or whenever they start charging your youngest. Your cost to do it would increase, but, if your kids are like mine, those two will not eat enough to make it worthwhile.....again, though, you would get buffets for less than $10 for each of them in future years, when the published price is abou $13-$15 each.

I went around and around this, too. We are doing the Dining Plan until our oldest turns 10....then there is no way that it would be beneficial to us.

Can you use the Dining Your Way Plan with the Fantasmic Dinner Show???
TIA!

When you call CRO you tell you can't use the dining plan for Fantasmic.

However, some people have posted that they've been able to use the package at Hollywood And Vine. Others could not use it at Mama Melrose. I don't recall reading anything about Brown Derby.

I think it may all depend on who your server is. :confused3

I was told when I called yesterday you could make a ps and use the myw for the dining portion at hollywood and vine but not the fantastmic part. Hope that helps. I am so confused.

I made a ps for the fantasmic dinner package at Hollywood and vine a couple days ago. The cm asked if I was using the myw dining plan I said yes. However, she did NOT tell me I wouldn't be able to use it! I am crossing my fingers. I figure worst case scenario I have to pay the difference out of pocket.
