So many friends are in the process of planning Disney trips for the summer and fall...I find it almost impossible not to start helping them. (Of course the 1st thing I tell them about is this board!)

I just have learned so much from everyone here I just want to share...OK...what I really want is to plan my own trip for the summer and/or fall...

Is it wrong to live vicariously through friends and neighbors? Or try to squeeze into the back of their SUV?

Anyone else try to tell your friends everything you know about Disney and what you would do if you were going?

Absolutely! I love to share my "vast knowledge" and I'm just not sure why it isn't always appreciated. The up-side is my family now listens to me when I tell them about Disney and cruises, so finally the "baby" of the family gets some respect.

Oh yeah, that's a lot of the fun for me. I love trying to help others with their trips. I would love to plan trips for people on the side, even if I never made a cent off of it.

I work in a pediatric office and the word I think is getting out that I am the local Disney resource. I talk to at least 2 families a week about going. And my coworkers are over it. lol Mickey

I am so glad I am not the only one!!!! I am in the process of "planning" trips for two families, whether they want me to or not (LOL)!!! It's gotten so bad, that when I called to check rates for one family, the CM at CRO listed me as their booking agent and I got their confirmation in the mail!!

That's funny...my doctor told me he was glad I got sick the other day, he was deciding if it was ok to call me for trip planning advise or not. So it was certainly more conv. that I showed up.

I really backlogged the patients behind me. :p

Me too! Basically, I try to give tips that would help them avoid bad experiences i.e. crowds, lines, etc. and let them in on the fun things they may miss if they think its all just rides, rides, rides.
I would feel guilty having all of this info from the boards and my own experience and not sharing! I hate to hear of anyone not enjoying their WDW trip, because we all know how magical it can and should be :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I let it be known that I've got some time/money saving info from these boards and personal experience and let those who desire my help ask for it. Many folks can't believe that their travel agent isn't necseearily the best source of WDW advice or that there is such a thing as a Disney bargain. Part of me agrees with W.C. Fields when he said, "Never give a sucker and even break, nor smarten up a chump." SOMEBODy has to pay full fare and stand in those regular, non-FastPass lines.

My friend went several months ago with her family and I didn't want to seem bossy or pushy, so I didn't say much. I figured if she wanted any help, she'd ask for it, knowing that I go so much. Well, she got back and it didn't sound as if she had much fun. So I told her I would have helped plan the trip for her, and she said, "Why didn't you tell me?" I think (not sure) she didn't have such a good time because she only had a couple of days and no plan, so I'm sure they didn't get the most out of it that they could have - so my advice is, share your knowledge!

Family and friends are sick of me.....lol. Buuuttttt.....who do they call when they are planning a trip to WDW and just casually want to ask a question or two or ten, lol!

The best compliment for me was when 7yo DS slipped while sliding right after Christmas and 4 days before our Dis trip last winter. The child life specialist could not console him and his brave Mom, that's me, almost passed out when I saw them starting to stitch up his head. So I did what any good Disney Mom does, I did Disney visualization- I took him on every ride in WDW and had made it through part of APRICOT-that is EPCOT to us adults when the dr. finally finished. I had hidden under that sheet covering his head for over an hour and 100+ stitches while taking him on an imaginary trip to Disney. Hey I wonder if that would work for labor pains too????? The young dr. said to me, that he had never been to Disney but he could not wait to book his trip! He said it sounded like the best place on earth!

:p Ummm....if you want to, you could help me plan mine! I'm going in October (18-25), staying at AS Sports and haven't been to WDW in twenty years! Have no idea where to begin.

I sure take a lot of teasing, but I also take a LOT of questions!!! Everyone made fun of me as I planned for our trip last month (it was AWESOME, of course!), but now they are lining up to ask me stuff! This site is always top of my list of tips, y'all are GREAT!

We'll be at WDW the same week also, but we are staying at ASMovies!

So glad to hear there are others who do this... Maybe we should start a support group - "Hi, I'm Nancy, and I'm a Disney World addict" ;)

Of course, as timbud1, winniedapooh and others mentioned, as much fun as people make they sure know who to call don't they?

OOh I completely understand. My husband has labelled me a certified ADDICT. I think I have lost friends trying to convince them since the Fairytale Package -- always encouraging them with anecdotes.

Glad to know I am not the only one.

My Family, friends and even the members at the Credit Union I work for--all consider me "the go-to girl" concerning WDW info. I get so excited when someone tells me they are going, I can't help but start talking about how wonderful it is. Luckily, DH feels the same way about Disney so we are "Two Blissful Disney Enablers" with no desire for rehabilitation.;)
