Hi,

I have booked 1 week at The Poly and 1 week at WL for Xmas and New Year of this year. However, I have heard from some people that the Polynesian just 'isn't right at christmas'. I was really looking forward to staying here as I stayed a few years back in the summer and really enjoyed my stay, but if it will ruin my Xmas vacation I would prefer to change resorts now.

What do you think I should do???

Have you seen/stayed at POBay during Xmas? - If so how was this decorated?

Thank You for any input.

I certainly don't think staying at the Polynesian at Christmas will ruin your vacation ;) . We were there this year at the beginning of January, and the Christmas decorations were still up. We thought they were beautiful, and in keeping with the resort theming. Now, don't go expecting very tradional, Christmas card-type decorations like you'll see at the GF...

We've never gotten to see the decorations at the WL, but we've heard that they're really something to see. Since you'll be staying there, as well, you could get a taste at Christmas at both resorts.

Thanks for that, Tracy.

We are still not sure what to do, does anybody know a website with any pictures of Polynesian at Xmas???

Thanks.

Richard

I stayed at the Poly last December and thought it was really nice. There are two small Christmas trees in the Great Ceremonial House, garland with shells and raffia ribbon in it, and neat oars with garland hanging from the ceiling. There are also neat wreaths decorating the Poly's monorail station. Though it's Christmas decorating is more understated than the WL or GF, it is still nice. Hope this helps!

I don't think there are many pix with the Polynesian at Xmas. That being said, it sounds like you are looking for that traditional Xmas feel and the Polynesian isn't it. It definitely keeps with the South Seas theme. If you think this is going to be a downer for you, and ruin your whole stay there, then switch.

I am staying in early December and I am looking forward to seeing all the South Seas decorations. It will be neat to see it, I think.

Have fun on your trip.

Thank You for all your replies, we have decided to stick with our original plan and stay at WL for 1 week then Polynesian for 1 week.

I'm sure we will have a great time, even if the poly isn't decorated as well as we would have hoped, were better could you be at Xmas than WDW?

Thanks Again,

Richard.
