My DS missed the monorail last trip (napping) and he wants to ride this time. We will only be at the parks 2 days, and won't be needing the monorail for transportation. I thought I would try to take him for a spin on arrival day while DH is golfing.

I need to figure out a good plan and how much time to allow. We are staying at AKL. Possible plans:

Take a bus to MK or Epcot (whichever comes first). Ride the monorail between the parks and TTC as needed. Catch bus back to AKL.

Take bus to Epcot (I am thinking this bus ride is shorter than to the MK). Ride monorail to MK and back to Epcot. Bus to AKL.

DS is 3 1/2, so I'm not sure if he would appreciate the scenery on one route as opposed to the other. I would like to do the quickest option - too many other things we want to do also. We will have a car, but I wasn't sure if it was worth the hassle of driving, parking and walking to the monorail station.

OK, experts, what do you think?

Thanks!

Depending if you just missed a bus. If you did it could be a twenty minute wait. If you don't mind paying for valet I would suggest driving to the Grand Floridian or Contemporary and go to a character breakfest. You have Chef Mickey at the Contemp. and Cinderella at the DF. Then take a ride around on the monorail. You can also hotel hop if your son is up to it. You and your husband may get back to your room around the same time.

You could do this by bus too. Take it to MK get on the monorail to the breakfest of choice. Then go to Poly or GF and take the motor launch to the MK and bus back to AKL.

I tend to prefer to drive. I agree with the previous poster that incorporating a meal at one of the resorts is a good idea, if that would work for you.

If you don't want to go all out for a character meal, you could make a PS for the Kona Cafe for a snack, and probably park at the Polynesian. Then take the resort monorail around the lake - it's definitely the most interesting of the two monorail routes.

Have fun!::MinnieMo
