PLEASE help me identify this movie!!!

Nope it's not the Return to Oz. That's a good movie. BTW I once saw Tic Tok in the props area in MGM when you do the backstage tour. It was great seeing him there.

It's the Hugga Bunch. I cringe ever time I think of that movie. Here are some stills from it:

After looking at the pictures, that's it!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, that is SO it! And it only took like what, five minutes for you guys to come up with it.

And I see the elephant, too! I knew there was an elephant - even if he wasn't a patchwork elephant!!

:yay: :yay: :yay:

I honestly don't think you guys know how much this means to me! I've been searching for this for YEARS people!!!

And Bill--Great find with the pictures!!

Ooo. I just found the whole thing on youtube. *watching*

Thanks again all you wonderful DISers!

I used to love that movie! I think my sister and I wore out the VHS. She even had a couple of the dolls. :goodvibes

Yes, Bill, thank you for the pictures! I read this thread and couldn't think of the movie either. The Hugga Bunch didn't sound familiar, but after you added the still shots, I now remember it!

Gotta admit, I did like it. But then I like movies that are kind of corny like this movie :upsidedow

Hmm.. Does that have anything about an earthquake in it?

With all of this talk about The Return to Oz I just had to go buy it. I added it to a few things I've been meaning to get from Amazon and it bumped my total up to the free shipping category.

The Return to Oz is actually a Disney movie. It's much scarier then the Wizard of Oz. It's a combination of Ozma of Oz and the Return to Oz books by Frank L Baum. It did have a huge storm and a flood in it and the Gnome King was made of rock. So maybe you're mixing those bits up. Faruza Balk played Dorothy, her first goth role. :rotfl2:

I used to watch all sorts of kids movies with my daughter. The Hugga Bunch was the only one I actually had to leave the room when it was playing. It's really brutal as an adult but she loved it so much. :rotfl2:

Yes! That's totally the one I remember! Though those dolls...kinda scary looking. I wonder why my parents let us watch that!!

Oh my goodness!! I had no idea what anyone was talking about- then I saw the pictures and it all came flooding back!! I have totally seen this movie!!! Weird!!

I just watched the whole thing on youtube. That is so exciting to see that movie again!! I started to remember more of it as I watched. Including how some parts really freaked me out as a kid! LOL

I'm going to try and get the DVD from somewhere now.

I can't thank you guys enough!!!

I saw most of "Return to Oz" with Fairuza Balk on TV once...yikes, what a CREEPY movie. I mean...creepy as in Ineverwanttoseeanymomentsofiteveragain, not at all like the Judy Garland one.

((shudder))

agnes!

Ohhh but that's what makes it good. Imagine a whole Oz movie filed with the Wicked Witch of the West parts from the original movie. Then up the scariness a few notches. Great nightmare material. :thumbsup2 The Return to Oz is closer to how the books are.

I loved Return to Oz too. I didn't even know that was Fairuza Balk (or whatever her name is) until I saw The Waterboy and was like, "Hey, she looks familiar!"

Maybe I just like really weird movies. :confused3 I mentioned that I loved the Hugga Bunch Movie when I was a kid, but I failed to say that I saw a clip on YouTube a few weeks ago and was totally creeped out. It really IS weird as an adult! :scared:

It was my Daughters favorite movie and I hated it. It was really bad. I could watch Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealers, I could even live with Strawberry Shortcake movie and the Care bears but I hated the

HUGGA BUNCH MOVIE!!!! :rotfl2:

Here's a link to stuff about it.

E.T.A

Darn I thought I'd be the first but some of you type faster. :)

Oh my, I had no idea what you were talking about until I clicked the link...I loved that movie!! My brother and I used to watch it all the time!! That and the Care Bears Movie!!

I remember that too ... IT TOTALLY WAS The HUGGA BUNCH MOVIE!!!!!

That is great that you found your movie. I have one of those movies too that I remember watching mid to late 80's and I still have not figured out what movie. I also have searched for this movie, but no luck to me. Yay for finding your movie though!

I did a google search "patwork elephant movie" and came up with The Hugga Bunch movie.

I actually knew this...we still have it on VHS, my sister was addicted to this movie.I was just gonna post, but I was seeing if anyone came up with it yet.
