Please Help Me Choose a Wedding Dress UPDATE pg. 9: It's been chosen!

As I was reading through before I got to your pick, I loved the dress you ended up with. I like it w/ the color sash as I actually think it gives definition to the dress.

...I was thinking the same thing too - though, if the OP thinks that the purple color is too 'harsh' they could go with a 'softer color', like a pink or an aqua-type green/blue....

The lace on the first veil holds up on its own to the lace in the dress.

That is my vote.

Dress #3 was my Runner up dress for my own wedding! It's an incredible dress. As for the veil I say go with MOH choice. The first veil is amazing- but all the intricate lace work takes away from the lace work of the dress. Go for simple since the dress is a show stopper:goodvibes

i would go with the first veil....looks like it was made to match the dress....

Love the dress, veil #1! :goodvibes Great idea about the sash for the reception. Depending on the color of the flowers, could you go with a "Holiday color"? i.e. deep red or green, or such? Can't wait to see wedding pictures!! Congratulations and you will be a beautiful bride!!

Looks like we're in the minority about the veil!! I agree with you that the lace on #1 competes with the dress. Very detailed dress= simple veil!!! Congrats, the dress is beautiful:thumbsup2

Love your dress choice, especially like the idea of changing it up a little bit at the reception by adding the ribbon then. It's a beautiful dress.
I prefer veil number 1 but I think veil #2 is great also.
Congrats!

Aww the dress looks beautiful on you! The first veil is my choice and I agree it looks like it was made just for that dress! I love it..:thumbsup2

Beautiful choice and I love it for a December wedding. Congratulations. I like number one veil. It has more "substance" With the heavily laced dress the second looks a little too light. jmho.

Aw you look great in your pick! I agree with everyone, veil #1. It fits your dress perfectly!

as every one else has said, that dress is gorgeous. You look very pretty , and either veil will be nice. as someone said, how about a shad of green/red since it is De. i guess it depends on the bridal party......Yes please print pics. later. Good Luck. Have a wonderful wedding !!.

I'm letting the girls choose hteir own dresses. They must be floor length and in the color Regency by David's Bridal. Their shoulders must be covered for the ceremony, but other than that, it is fair game. My bridesmaids are built absolutely nothing alike, and I want them to be comfortable. I'm also going to let them choose their own shoes. I'm thinking of silver, but not sure.

One of my bridesmaids is a leukemia survivor. The side effects of treatments have left her with problems with her hips/knees/ankles. I don't want her to be uncomfortable, so I figure I would let her choose shoes that will be comfortable for her. My MOH thinks nobody should wear heels since the groomsmen are all insanely tall (not one is under 6'). She said in the pics, it would be everybody else, and then me. That's what happens when you're a hobbit marrying an elf! (That's our inside joke. He comes by his height honestly, so whenever I am with his family I always say I feel like a hobbit in the land of the elves.)

I would do veil#1. I just like it better with the dress than the plain veil.

Also, when you wear the sash, take off the veil. It would be too many accessories with the sash and the details of the dress.

And I would at least have the sash match or coordinate with the BMs dresses. Otherwise pictures at the reception would look as if you didn't plan anything!

ETA: Regency is that gorgeous royal blue color, so you could go with any shade of blue, for example. Or silver. Or Grey.

What a wonderful way to do it! The girls must be so happy and grateful! I'm sure it will be a beautiful wedding!

A comment about shoes for you, I would get at least a small heal, maybe an inch or so. You carry yourself differently wearing heals and for a formal occasion, it would be appropriate. Then, for the reception, get a comfy pair of tennis shoes or something but for the ceremony, I would wear heals.

I like the second veil. The first one is pretty but I think it competes with the dress too much.

Veil #1! Love the dress you chose! You couldn't go wrong with any of them. :)

Thanks!

My MOH got her dress today. She is getting this dress:

We are changing the bridesmaids' dresses from regency (purple) to pool (blue) since we discovered that there were very few options in the color I chose. We're planning on putting hte boys in purple instead.
