Please Help Me Choose a Wedding Dress UPDATE pg. 9: It's been chosen!

I love #1, but without the straps. Whichever one you pick, though, you'll look great, they're all beautiful dresses.

I love #2 on you it just looks like a wedding dress and not a prom dress. Maybe the colour of number one is throwing me off , you have too much back showing too I think.

Congrats , you will make a beautiful bride in what ever you choose.

I have not read others' responses, but I honestly think you look best in dress number 2 -- I think it is the most flattering. You look great in it!

However, you should probably just go with the one YOU like best, because you will be happiest and "glowy" as a result!

I looked a bit closer at #2 again. If you could change it to a sweetheart neckline instead of a straight line across, I'd go with that one. I just don't like that straight line across the top of your chest. It's too stark and needs to be softer.

I love # 3 --without the sash---it has beautiful clean lines that elongate your figure (I need that kind of thing, too!), and the fabric provides the interest. Like a pp said, it just looks like a winter wedding dress- kind of snowflakey on the bottom. It would be gorgeous with a fur (fake) shrug.

Dress #2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it flatters you the most (and if it is a Maggie Sorterra, it was my wedding dress as well!!!!)

But really, it was pretty without being too much, it flattered your figure much better than the others.

So much fun! Thanks for letting us help you!

I like 1, 2, and 3. My thoughts...

#1 - too much fabric at the bottom, but I think alterations would help
spaghetti straps not needed

#2 - my favorite, but I like simpler things - It looks great on you, but I am sure the first would also when it was altered.

#3 - No sash!!! Otherwise, I think it looks great on you. It sparkles like the snow.

#4 - no, no

#5 - not bad, but nothing special

I didn't really look at number 6. You just can't tell when they are not on you.

Have fun! I loved trying on dresses!

Dress #2....it appears to fit you the best and is the most flattering on you.

Dress #3 is pretty, but I'm not a fan of the sash.

The high neck dress is a no-go, IMHO, it does nothing for you....

Good luck!!! :thumbsup2

ITA with this post. I liked #2 best on you.

This is so much fun... thanks for sharing with us! I really like #2 .. but you should really go with the dress you love and feel comfortable in.

You look beautiful in all of them! Congrats and good luck!

... please let us know which one you pick!!:goodvibes

Of them all, I like #2 the best. I like that style, flattering, simple lines. Nice details. I like how the dress flows, accentuating your waist. Just beautiful. :)

You'll have to let us know what you decide! :goodvibes

I love 1, 2, and 3. In order probably 3 (no sash!!), 1, 2.

I got married in early March and needed a cover up as well. My dress also laced up the back like your #1. I found a cape at David's that was perfect for a winter wedding. Long heavy material with hood and the entire trim was white fur. AMAZING!! I felt like a movie star!

This one is not the same, it is mid-length and mine was full length. Also mine has two "fur balls" at the neck to tie the hood. SUPER GLAMOROUS and it was absolutely amazing. Warm and beautiful.

I am a wedding vendor in NC, so please PM me with any questions at all. I would be happy to answer to the best of my ability.

You all have me laughing, thanks! I just got done with a four hour round trip drive to have dinner with my parents. My fiance and I have agreed on the following things for the wedding (if this helps): The theme is going to be a literary one. We will be incoporating my Beauty and the Beast snow globe that hs the two of them in the library. The colors are purple (my favorite color) and blue (his favorite color). As it is advent, the church is already decorated in purple and so we will be going with that shade, which is Regency

in the David's Bridal catalogue. For the blue, we went with a lighter, but not too pastel, so that it would have more of a winter feel and would provide a nice contrast.

. We chose Pool from DB. (For some reason the Regency looks blue on my computer, but it is really a bright, classic, purple.)

Yes, the church has restrictions on strapless dresses, (plus, I agree that it simply isn't a flattering style for us larger gals), so I will be using a cover up of some ilk once I figure out the dress. As far as shoes, I'm leaning towards either 1" or no heels as there is nothing in this world that will make me even close to Aaron's height, so at least I can be comfortable.

If you go with that gold shade (which I think is pretty, by the way), I wonder if you will have difficulty finding a matching coverup for the church ceremony. They won't let you wear a strapless gown at a full Catholic ceremony, will they? Or maybe things have changed since I was married....it was 13 years ago!

See above.

Now after looking at them again I am going to say that #2 is probably the most flattering on you.

I guess for me, I don't like strapless and that is what bugs me.;)

Me too! It's one of my least favorite looks, so I'm hoping that with a cover up it will look better.

I think #3, without a sash, is the most flattering on you. It really shows off your figure and I like the color on you.

You said you are getting married during Christmas season and, to me, this would be the perfect dress. It looks like snowflakes.

Have you ever watched Say Yes to the Dress? I'm addicted to it. There was a show where the bride was getting married at Christmas to a soldier, and she wore a lovely dress with a short faux fur jacket. It really was very beautiful.

Ultimately, you should pick what YOU like and feel good in. What you think and feel is what counts.

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding.

I love Say Yes to the Dress! I used to watch it all the time, but I don't have TLC in my new house. I never thought of the lace looking like snowflakes. That particular dress has been discontinued, so finding my size would be an issue, but it looked like they had a different one along the same lines in their catalogue. My parents really loved the lace dress as well. I think of all the ones at DB, that is my favorite.

5
3 with or without the sash

6 is difficult to say without seeing it on you, but the dress is nice

Enjoy shopping!

I believe in getting the dress that looks the best on the bride, in this case I think it's #3. It's a beautiful dress and extremely flattering on you. You wear that dress, it's not wearing you.

Edited - I wrote the wrong number, oops. :) I somehow missed #2 and miscounted from there. I fixed it now, go dress number 3!!!

I love the colors you and DF are using especially during Advent Season...I am so hoping for dress # 3 that you find it BUT it is so exciting whatever you decide so happy you're allowing us to be on this journey with you..soo fun !
