We are headed back down for Paul's second Disney World adventure in October. He will be 18 months old at the time, but very small for his age. (We're thinking he will weigh around 18 pounds or so by then.) It will be me, Paul, and DH. We are doing the Halloween party and we desperately need costume ideas!! I would like to think of something for all three of us that is somehow related. It can be Disney themed or not. I have a mother-in-law who is great with a sewing machine, so I could get her to help me. It would be great, though, if we could come up with something sort of on the simple side. The less sewing, the better. Any ideas??? I know there are lots of creative people out there!

Anybody want to help?? :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

You could be Dorothy (you), the Scarecrow (your DH) and Toto (Paul).

I also saw a family of children in our neighborhood dressed up as legos...they wore red, yellow and blue turtlenecks and tights and wore the coordinated color box around their torsos. They used styrofoam coffee cups as the pegs and holes on the blocks.

You could also be Cat in the hat with things 1 & 2...but that might upset the Disney gods :)

M&M's, you could each be a different color.

Is he walking yet? You could be a farmer, a scarecrow and Paul could be a pea pod or ear of corn? Or farmer, cow, pea pod?

Gepettho, Blue Fairy, Pinnochio?

Ariel, Prince Eric, Flounder?

Hmm, I will keep thinking! :teeth:

Great ideas so far! Keep em coming! Paul isn't quite walking yet, but he's getting close, so I'm sure he will be by then. He will definately want a costume that doesn't restict his movement too much.

Austin Powers, Dr Evil and Mini Me.

For DS's first Halloween last year, we went to a party at a friend's house as crayons. I was yellow, DH was blue and DS was green...get it? Yellow and Blue make green. :) It was REALLY simple to make...no sewing involved. :)

When my DD was 2, she was a Dalmation and I was Cruella. There are patterns for all sorts of Disney "people". The pattern I bought also had Snow White's queen, which I wanted to make last year to go w/DD's SW, but I had a 2 month old and it didn't get done. I also wanted to make DS as Dopey. All three of you could be dwarves --- they'd be very easy costumes to make!

I like pinochio, gepetto, and blue fairy idea! Cute!

Alladin Jasmine and abu would be cute!

candy bars,,, dh= hersheys with almonds, you=regular hersheys, paul as a kiss:)

At storyhour one year there was family of vegetables. I remember an artichoke, a carrot, a tomato. I guess I should of said weird vegetables.

And the crayon idea is cute, too!

If Paul were a girl, I'd suggest Peter Pan, Wendy, and Tinkerbell...but Peter Pan is usually played by a girl on stage, so maybe it would work. :)

I like maci's idea of Aladdin, Jasmine, and Abu - that would be too cute! Hmmm.. wonder if DH will let me dress the dog as a monkey...

I have been so very impressed with the quality of commercially available Hallowe'en costumes in the last few years -- you might be able to find something for DS around which you can build the adult costumes. We purchased a kangaroo outfit for DD last year for well under $20 CDN -- DW couldn't have purchased the material for that price + it included a stuffed "Joey" toy in the pouch. It was amazingly well put together (save for a gimpy zipper -- but we all get those, even in the most expensive coats) and lined with that athletic jersey material to give some "breathing" space between DD and the costume. A couple of years ago the local Wal-Mart donated a massive quantity of Hallowe'en costumes to my Church (they were going to landfill them otherwise) -- we have the entire Noah's ark menagerie.
So with DD in a kangaroo costume last year, DW essentially dressed up as "The Crocodile Hunter" (although a much prettier rendition, and modified for a Canadian Hallowe'en with long pants and jacket.) Had I joined in, I could have gone along as the old Croc. Which brings to mind my suggestion:
How about you as Peter Pan (Peter Pan has been portrayed on stage & TV by women), DH as Captain Hook and little Paul as a male Tinkerbell or one of the Lost Boys?

when the ds was a baby the dh and I went as a cheerleader , football player and the ds was a football . I made his costume out of brown felt and just made a sleeping bag type sack which was great for the chilly night.
