Please help - DDP or DxDP?

We'll be there for 9 nights in Sept - 9/16-9/25. We got the free DDP and I'm assuming that includes 9 TS meals even though we arrive late on our first night.

Including meals that are 2 TS credits, I have 13 TS meals booked. I figured we would pay for the extra 4 OOP.

Here's the hard part: There are five us (2 adults and 3 kids) and the cost difference between the DDP and DxDP is $43 per day -times 9 days that is $387 to upgrade. If I upgraded to DxDP to cover the 4 OOP meals, the cost per meal would have to be at least $96.75. I think we could spend $100 per meal because there is 5 of us but it might be close. I believe you get 2 snacks per day under the DxDP but we're not big snack people so I don't think we'd use 10 snacks per day.

So the questions - is my math right? Can the DxDP credits be used for QS meals? Would it be more cost effective to stay with the DDP and choose certain of the above to pay OOP because those meals would be under $100 for the 5 of us or do we upgrade?

Your math can't be right. I get a per-day upgrade cost for DxDP to be ~$100 for 2A/3C (about $35/adult and $10/child as a rough estimate).

You can use DxDP credits for CS -- not optimal, but the plan prices generally presumes that you will do so for up to 1/3 of your credits. Using only 13 out of 27 credits for TS is almost certainly a very bad idea for DxDP.

Doh - the $43 I calculated was for 1a/1c. I wrote the prices down and didn't multiply by the number of people we have. I thought it sounded too good to be true. Thanks for straigtening me out!!!
