I can't wait to get back to WDW this April. The cold and snow up here in Mass are really getting to me. Kids, not so much, with days off from school, they're enjoying themselves. Need the warm air again!

That was us last year! So this year I booked extra trips. Sadly we will be heading down there during a cold front! But I'll take a high of 65 over 10 :goodvibes.

Agreed! We just returned yesterday and I can't wait to go back in September!

We'll be there during the "cold front" too--but it will be below zero when we fly out, so 50 degrees will feel pretty good!

Another depressed MA owner here.
The city of Boston has had 70.1 inches of snow in 17 days. We have set an all time February snow fall record in the first 9 days of February. We are only an inch or two from all time # 3 snowy winter - since the 1800's
And starting Friday an artic front is invading and we will have high temps in the single digits.
Another storm - uncertain of strength just yet - is on the horizon for Thursday, followed by one on Sunday.
There truly is no place to put all this snow.
The state is allowing municipalities to request permission to dump in the harbor - no other choice.
It is not good!!!

The record snowfall is bad enough but many days we've had to go out in extremely cold temperatures (with wind gusts to boot!) to clear the snow. We just can't seem to catch a break here in New England!

That is somewhat like Chicago last year where it just kept snowing and snowing for months. We determined that we had obviously pissed off the weather gods and needed to make sacrifices to rectify the situation:

We first considered sacrificing all the politicians that had sunk Illinois into its bankrupt position on the assumption that even the weather gods would like to get rid of all of them, and sacrificing them would release all that hot air that could warm things up. However, that idea was scratched when we realized that without policiticians we would lose 50% of everything we had to complain about and the one thing we like to do here during the winter is complain. Nevertheless, you might want to consider the same idea concerning Northeastern politicians because we were informed by the party out of power that such sacrifices had at least a 60% chance of success in eliminating winter.

Next we considered getting rid of the other 50% of the reasons we had to complain. Namely the Chicago Cubs. Journalist George Will once said, "Any sports team can have a bad century." But we are now well past that century. Get rid of the Cubs and we thought spring would come early, a new team would take over Wrigley Field, and a winner would be produced. It seemed a great idea until we were reminded that what would likely occur is that the new team purchased from another city would itself probably have two or more ex-Cubs and the idea was nixed because of the rule of nature that Mike Royko, journalist and political pundit from many years ago, discovered and published while providing empirical evidence: that any team with two or more ex-cubs that made it to the world series and played a team with less ex-cubs always lost the world series. In fact, a corollary to that rule is that it is likely one of those ex-cubs will do something disastrous to help cause the series to be lost. You are likely familiar with that rule of nature if you follow the Boston Red Sox. In 1986, the Red Sox were one out and one strike away from winning the World Series when a routine grounder to the first basemen, ex-Cub Bill Buckner, went through his legs and the Mets went on to win the series. In any event, you might want to consider sacrificing one of your teams. Undoubtedly there are weather gods who are still suspicious about all those deflated footballs that New England's Tom Brady used to masacre the Colts. If I were a betting man, I would bet that the weather gods are among those who may be a little doubtful of Bill Belichick's explanation that it was just a freak of cold weather nature. Thus, that may well be the cause of your current weather problems and sacrificing the Patriots is the likely solution.

Ultimately, we just decided we could not sacrifice anyone but instead just started praying for miracles, one of which was for Chicago to avoid the same depressing winter this year while our friends and neighbors in the Northeast got to suffer like we did. Those prayers have been answered.

It gets warm in MA? :D

Well, we booked DCL cruise just 25 days out. We have a March UY, so no chance of going to WDW, but we are 11 nights away from an Eastern Caribbean Cruise.

There may be some cabins left, come join us!

Bobbi:goodvibes

I hear ya....and I am significantly North of you :).....It will be over 2 years since we have been, when we go at the end of April....it cannot come too soon for me!

I'm here in MA too! The great thing about all the snow is it makes me more into planning my next Disney trip which is this May!

In Vermont this weekend we are going down to -20F, I guess its time to boil some water and throwing it in the air or perhaps blow some bubbles outside.

From here in Duluth, Minnesota, I can feel your pain...strangely, we've been much luckier so far this year than most years. But that may change too. We took the whole family to WDW and Vero in October 2014 and just the two of us went in January 2015, so we are a little short on points for now. Sadly, we don't have another trip planned for this year, and not sure if or when we will make it next year. And hubby, who is retired, vetoed my vote to retire and do the "snowbird" thing. I will miss the warm air, and the palm trees, and Mickey and Minnie too. Hope the time between now and April goes fast for you!

I HEAR YA! CANNOT wait for warm weather! LOVE and miss the sunnier weather!:thumbsup2:woohoo:

Every since we returned home on the 8th we've had snow, snow, snow. I miss Disney and can't wait to go back in September!

Here to all of us keeping warm until our next trips! :cold:

shucks, thanks soooo much for sharing the misery. can you pu-lease just do the sacrifice next time?! :D

OK, now this is getting way to much. Now the kids won't even go outside. This morning driving into work it was 8 below and they say it will be colder this weekend, what great news!

Another arctic front coming through - what happened to global warming? I think the east coast got the global chill instead. LOL!

Ah, this thread, along with a few similar ones posted elsewhere, have given me all new insight on the attraction of all-things-Orlando and why I've never fit in. Thanks all, I have much better understanding.

Notes to self (as someday I'll need to look these up again as a reminder):
  • WDW, or even greater Orlando, never offers me 'relief' from something I wish to avoid (specifically weather).
  • What WDW offers over DLR is a more immersive experience. Granted.
  • Historically, WDW, specifically the Epcot resorts, was my place for community, learning and collaboration. It was, in some ways, my college campus for all things "IBM." A great place, a great community, a really great time!
So ... with this, I'm one step closer to, and more accepting of, the time to move on ... possibly sell DVC.

EDITED TO ADD: Ohhhhhhh, so this also explains why Hawaii has been featured so heavily on the TV lately .... oh, of course.
