Please explain Child Swap?

How does this work with two children: one who will ride, and one who won't? Will my DH be able to ride with the oldest (DS 10) and then switch with me. I'll be waiting with our youngest DS (5). Will the 10 year old be able to ride again or will I have to go it alone? Any info would be appreciated.

Yes the kids can go back on with the other parent. If I remember correctly the parent not riding waits at the exit and when the other parent comes a CM takes you on the ride. No lines.

Yes, the older child will be able to ride with both parents. The only other thing I will add is to check with the CM at every attraction you wish to do this at. It seems to vary at each ride and with each CM and can also vary on a given day. SOOOO - before you get in standby or get a Fast Pass do yourself a favor and talk to the CM and ask them each time how they want you do to it. Sometimes you get another FP with "child swap" and can re-enter through the FP line, other times the waiting parent and child wait in the gift shop and the second parent to ride re-enters through the exit queu. Some CM's require the "non rider" to be present others don't. Once dh took my youngest to get an ice cream and older dd and I had to wait for them to come back to start the "process". If we had waited a bit they could have gone for the ice cream while we rode. Its a great feature - so go ahead and use it but just take a minute and find out what works best for you and the cm at each ride.

Thanks for the helpful information. Checking with the CM makes sense. The rides we are looking at doing this on are ones like Splash Mountain, BTMRR, Test Track which will prabably require fastpasses.(We are going in March which I hear is pretty busy) Our plan is to pick up 4 FPs (in case the 5 year old decides to ride- he does meet height requirements, but not the bravery requirements) then go through FP lane and ask CM about child swapping then. Does this make sense?
