please explain a trade event to me

I noticed there was a trade event on Saturday's calendar. Forgive my ignorance, I am new to this, but how does this work? Will the hosts trade with you, or just anyone in the room? Do you have to have any special pins? Halloween pins? Rare pins?

I'd love to get the scoop on this before I make a fool of myself going in there!

If you make it into the room, you get in line and the host will have on pins that they are trading. when you get to the head of the line she will ask you to trade (make sure trades are on already). In the trade you tell her what pin you want and offer any weekend pin, quest pin or host pin you have (no NPC pins or pins that are always for sale in the stores can be used) Once you are done you exit. Pretty simple as long as you actually make it in which is the most difficult part.

-shutters- big IF there - this is some real work here for the host who dares to take this on. GO Fin! At best perhaps 200 willl get in give or take 30, if you are much deeper in line don't count on it. This is figured by simple math equation, it can be roughed out if you would like time the line for 10 minutes and then divide the time left in minutes by how many the line moved. Not perfect but it will give you an idea if you will get in.

Go knowing what you will offer for trade (a few times it has been pay with epcot turn style) If you have Trade issues and this will either slow it down or crash you and or the host - I recomend coming up with a solution to that Saturday morning I will likely miss it otherwise you still won't see me. my last two tries I crashed and burned.

Both have got great info there. Key is getting in line when that opens. Since this is a very manual host event not many will make it there! She has to trade with everyone manually after the player tells her what pin they want. GL!

Oh, and you can ask for any pin she is wearing on her lanyard only.

All of the above is great. I'd only like to add that you can often get some nifty pins from the Hosts, so it's worth it to try and get in. You're entitled to trade from them any pin they wear on their lanyard. They usually wear Host Pins from the current month and a few others. They will also wear popular (and occasionally not-so-popular) retired weekend pins from ages past (a great way to fill in your collection). I've never heard of a Host wearing magic.
